Why do you love Starbound?

Why do you? Is there a reason or just because? Go ahead and post why you do! (I love the game for all the content, story, and community.) Who cares that its in beta! It will always be a great game!

 

Beautiful style of graphics, allows lots of creativity, fun combat, insane boss battles, and a lot more i'm to lazy to list them

 

BECAUSE I CAN RUN AROUND AS A MURDEROUS ALPACA. EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER WANT.

 

A massive universe to explore. Teeming with strange and unique lifeforms to befriend or defeat.
Powerful items to find, and furniture to build a lovely cottage on a hill!

Hit a mini-boss, save the cosmos.

 

like most games similar to it, the creativity that you can get from it. I am a builder. There are plenty of components, items, and things to work with and consider when building.

Other than that i enjoyed the variety that they had in Koala version a bit more and hope they bring back at least some of that variety somehow. Have a few things in mind how they could do that.

I like what direction they are going with the game, as they add each new mechanic to it. The tortured souls will finally be around to pay rent eventually. Hint at NPC housing post. Plus the farming when they put their own thought into the hunger system; when they decide to add that back.

Also I like how easily moddable it is. Sickeningly so. This would help in the modding community expand pretty quick and come up with all those lovely ideas and extras to add to the game.

The community as a whole as there is such a variety in it from the different playstyles and personalities.

The borderlands similar weapons are a nice touch, as I don't want to worry too much on unique weapons and something always being the best, I would rather something looking the way I want it to look to add to my character rather than detract. I mean if it was like Terraria, there would be a chest full of same looking weapons due to how huge the universe is. That is something I am not fond of. One thing though I would like seeing some more unique weapons just added into the mix of the borderland similar ones. That would be nice.

I like you have a diverse customization in character, especially race; since that defines your background to an extent. Each having their own quirks and ways they got into the universe as well their own culture.

Lore is another I enjoy, as I love reading and always have. This though is more like extras to read to get a feel of what the universe is all about. The atmosphere per say, to go along with what already is seen all around.

Armor I like the designs, but right now there is not much to choose from, and I hope they expand it further so you can even find armor pieces out there while keeping the crafted ones you primarily would get.

Vanity items are a great thing to collect, as it is a way to fine tune the personality to the character you would create.

We can find instruments to play various songs. Also even add to the library of what we can play from them.

Liking the quest system and ship upgrades, as well the story hinted at that it will have. I just love so many aspects. Yes I listed most of the reasons, but there can be a whole lot more to add even to this list.

 

There's a lot I love about this game, but exploring certain things is the best. I was randomly mining on a desert planet when I saw a light not too far away. Turns out, it was a miniature lamp post with a small house and tree nearby as well. I leave it, thinking it might just be a one-time thing, only to discover dozens of other houses, apartment buildings, and other things. After accidentally destroying one in a less-than-epic battle with a monster, I got a Ball of Gnomes that scream when you throw them. Then a gnome gun that's literally a gnome that shoots a rainbow. Then a gnome hat that's literally a gnome sitting on your PC's head. Then a hat that's literally one of the houses. I was laughing the whole time at how ridiculous the whole was.

That sort of thing is why I love Starbound.

I like the solace and the stars. It feels like I'm floating through a sky full of ghosts, and every person I meet or encounter on the way is an anchor in my travels.

I REALLY love exploring games.

 

I do to...I really like games with detail. Especially enviroments like dead space that have a futuristic, but dead look.

 

I'm drawn to more towards Starbound's community more than anything, That and all of the mods allow me to play how I want to play with the simplicity of helping friends download and install the same mods.

 

I love the community with this game! Everyone is so cool and fun!

Joking, i Love it because it gives me freedom to play and roleplay on my own! and also the community! i've met some incredible people around here

 

There's so much to love about Starbound, but if I had to just name my #1 favorite thing, it would be the Observation command.

People who complain that any given race is boring because there isn't enough lore about them clearly doesn't use the observation command.

Humans boring to you? Play a human and observe everything. They're hilarious.

 

Because I'm sick to death of medievil fantasy games.
