I've managed to get to the outpost and on the way there i collected many items that became obsolete.
Why can't i sell any of them?
    Is this a bug?
Do i need to do something first?
    Wtf?

Selling items is still not in the game, its a planned feature that is yet to be implemented. at the moment all the outpost does is provide quests and two vendors.

Selling items is not implemented yet. Don't expect it be implemented soon.

So it's pointless to fill chests with all that loot, because you can't earn anything from it, right?

Depends on what the loot is.

Is it pointless to fill it with furniture? Partially, because you could always feed most of it to your 3D Printer and make more later if you're so inclined.

Weaponry? If it's worse than what you have and you only want the best weaponry, sure. I keep a lot of weapons around for novelty and effects, too, though.

Food/Crops? It's probably a good idea to hold onto most of them if you really like the cooking system and plan to use recipes, but without Hunger, there's much less incentive to do so.

Blocks? If you're really into building, sure. If you bookmark the planets with interesting structures/terrain that you plan to use for construction later, nah. (Not that these are likely to be sellable anyhow.)

Of course, aside from all that, there's plenty of reason to hang onto vanity items and/or anything you just consider really neat. If your objective is to make pixels, I believe the best way to do so currently is to mine Diamonds and use a Refinery to convert them into pixels directly.

Well, given they're about to enact a HEAVY change in how weapons calculate damage, I'd say it's definitely worth keeping any weapon you happen to like the look of.

All of the weapon damage ratings are gonna get heavily reworked, and largely be in the same general "range" of damage output, no matter what tier of planet you get them at. You won't have a sword that only does 50dmg and then one that does 600dmg, they'd all be in the 40~60dmg range (just pulling numbers out of thin air for example's sake).

However, every (non-vanity) armor piece will have a damage multiplier that boosts your attack rating. The higher-tier the armor, the bigger that number. This way, if you find, say, a Rainbow Sword on a low-teir planet and you really really want to keep using that Rainbow Sword because you like how it looks, then you CAN, as the damage it does increases with your armor stats. Your armor will eventually boost that Rainbow Sword (or any other weapon you swing/shoot) into the 600dmg zone.

Also, depending on if they're gonna give us the option to outfit NPCs, keeping those extra armors (both vanity and non) wouldn't be a bad idea.

I find it's not a bad idea to hoard now in case they do things in the future. My stock of extra Codex books served me well when the latest update wiped my character's codex list clean.
