Over 40,000 people have pre-ordered Starbound. There are over 60,000 members on the forums. I'd estimate at least 100,000 people are in love with Starbound if not half a million. Yet, only over 6,000 people have voted Starbound on Indies Crash E3! So, my question is this: Why aren't we voting?! Thank you for your time.
I think a lot of the people who pre-ordered were hit-and-run, and don't really associate with the community.
The other game deserves it more. It looks like they've worked really hard on the game, and they're a small team. Starbound has a lot more people working on it and they just got $1,000,000 with the preorder.
However a lot of people were interested in trying to goto E3, and thus multiple nominations for the same game are possible. Hundreds more votes (if not a lot more) are scattered among the other Starbound nominations.
Saibot doesn't deserve it more, because as far as I can tell, Saibot doesn't actually exist. And then we could get into the rather ugly fact that it's nominator seems to know nothing about it/doesn't care about it, and only seems to want E3 tickets...
People probably just either haven't heard about the voting or don't visit the forums anymore. There might be 60,000 members on the forums but there's not even 300 online right now.
I see it in a few ways: 1. No win = more time to work on game 2. Other people deserve to win too 3. Chucklefish's advertising isn't as good as Saibot's 4. Some nominations are for Chucklefish, some are for Starbound, some are for Tiy/Tiyuri, and some are misspelled...
Saibot studios do exist, and the game they are developing 'Doorways' is very real. While I may disapprove of the youtuber who seems to have purely selfish reasons for his nomination I wish Saibot studios themselves well in their endeavor.
1. They would only send a few people, not all of them so it would still be worked on either way. 2. Other people do deserve to win but from what I have seen from the other indies they don't really have the greatest content or original ideas. 3. Saibot has no advertising. They reason they are so high up is because a youtube "star" has asked for votes on it because he wants to go to E3. 4. There is only one actual nomination for starbound that everyone is linked to through starbounds homepage that everyone sees when headed to the site.
Honestly, I hate his style. It's a ripoff of terrible other youtube "Stars". He even does a ridiculous fred video . Screams in his videos. I just don't understand the appeal to it. He plays doorways but the game itself has terrible traffic and few followers. People are voting for him to get to E3 not for the game. Whatever though.
http://indiescrashe3.com/ Click on that then scroll down till you see top nominations. Starbound is second to Saibot.
I know, but my point is that Starbound is missing probably plenty of votes because of people's slip-ups. And this guy is definitely not the Mexican Pewdie... Hahaha.
That's true that people are messing up this voting contest. I mean he's not Mexican he is from some other country. I forget . Still he copies a lot of other stars and I find that to be, well sad. In other news saibot is going to E3 either way. Same with starbound. I would rather starbound get first place in order to save money but .
