Feedback why are novakids the only race that can make guns

why cant other races make guns for whatever reason unless your novakids
i can understand the glitch and florina lore wise/ but human's with no guns?! and apex supposedly are highly advanced technology and only have swords and axes... sorry not trying to rant but its been bugging me for a while now

I'm not certain I understand the context for this. I mean, USCM troops all have guns, the Avian temple guards have guns, Apex guards have guns and all races can craft them out of ferozium at least. Explain? This goes over my head >.<

 

he isnt talking about NPCs, hes saying only one player race can craft guns
for tiers 1 through 4 only nova kids are able to craft guns, everyone else can only craft melee weapons

 

I'm assuming they'll be changing that. I remember when Novakid became playable a while back and everyone learned that they were able to craft guns while no one else was, I think one of the developers said they'd be changing that.
at any rate, I remember the last time I played (back in November I think?) I found tons of guns. like, I literally stopped using my starter Novakid guns and the subsequent upgrades because I always found a better gun. always. so many bars were wasted on those weapons.

Why indeed? Is it because they're the only race based on Western style?
That's a bit too shallow for a reason don't you think?

It's because they were added to the game like a year and change later than all the other races and the old weapon-crafting had been given only the barest of alterations to fit the new ore setup.

 

My hope is that one day every race will have 2-4 unique weapon lines that aren't shared between races.

 

Look at history, if you take a weapon from ancient Egypt and ancient China, they will be completely different. Also, maybe a Novakid gun manufacture sold weapons to everybody. It would make for a cool quest to try and blow up a factory from these Novakid arms dealers.

 

no, just look at it. Novakid a great, they have style and as a Texan myself I enjoy the cowboy feel*.
*also they are objectively the best race in the game because guns

like, seriously. just walk around, explore, you'll find so many guns it's annoying.

 

Yeah, I thought Novakids being the only race that could make guns was a little strange -- especially since all the other races have the same weapons to choose from. I'll have to cast my lot with Oberic here. It'd be nice if everyone could make the same basic weapons -- guns, melee weapons, staves -- while every race had at least one special kind of weapon only they were capable of making.

a poll isn't necessary to determine whether all or most races should have the ability to craft guns.

 

well, if you want the Devs to make changes I would think you would start a poll on it.

 

they're not idiots, they can read text walls pretty well.

it's not really necessary.

If they'll add it.. they'll add it.
Let's say we put a poll.. and most of the votes agrees to put a crafting system on guns.. It's not 100% guaranteed that the devs will do it.

In the end, it's the dev's decision.
Not all can be won even if you are heard.
Posting is enough. There is no need with a nonsense poll about this.

Ah, I see what you mean. Though even if they decided to do add in the crafting it seems likely that it would be a post-release item at this point. I do really like Oberic's suggestion and craftable guns would, perhaps, give an extra means to do that.
