Who here plan on changing his game's soundtrack ?

The question cannot be more straightforward, considering how we were told modding would be easy, does anyone here plans on changing (modding) the soundtrack of theire starbound game ?

Now, dont be mistaken, starbound's current soundtrack is great.
But personally, i was listening to my soundtrack of paper mario 64 today and realized how broad the range of themes it has considered and often found myself thinking "man, x song would fit so well with y planet/biome in starbound.

A quick example for those who knows paper mario 64 :
The music of Mt. Lavalava for volcanic planets with the lava pirahna plant boss theme when there's a battle on said planet.
I cant speak for others but personally, i think it'd be wicked cool.

Whats your thought ?

Probably not for the first 20-40 hours. Eventually after a few months I might replace or just play music over it.

 

Starbound soundtrack foreverrrrrrr

 

The music is chosen by the developers to create a mood/feeling. I leave those decisions to them, and will stick with their music.

 

It's going to take a very long time for me to grow tired of the music.

 

I like it. I probably wouldn't change it until it got boring. Thankfully, it's not sleepy Minecraft music, so I think it'll take a few years for me to want to change it.

 

I might put some of the experimental songs in, most of them are great

 

The only way I'd plan n changing this game's music is by adding any game music they left out.

They did an extremely good job on music in this game, and that is something you don't see often in most games today.

and by extremely good job, I mean like 10/10 good job. I don't just throw this around by the way. They've made a lot of tracks, a lot of different themes, and they're still making more. I feel like it would be such a waste of hard work to put in non-starbound songs when they put such a really nice and great effort into putting in their own music

I don't plan to, but depending on how it works I may at some point make changes.

Like, if I could add songs without getting rid of any of the original songs, I might consider doing that.

 

Maybe. It depends on how the music is used and whether I get tired of a particular track or not.

 

What kind of monster would want to switch the Starbound soundtrack out?

 

No, the soundtrack is just to great to change.

 

I probably will with a couple EU D&B songs. That shit is awesome for space.

Edit: In all seriousness, I'll likely keep the soundtrack running unless I decide to run a podcast or something while I'm playing. And not likely until I've done a fair bit of playing.

 

I think I'll decide whether or not I'm going to change the soundtrack after I've played the game with the soundtrack in place.

 

well, the monster that i am likes the starboudn soundtrack, but likes the paper mario soundtrack evev more
i know it sounds weird but thats how it is and thats also why i was curious to see if anyone else felt like that
