Who here is playing a Hylotl?

Yo! As my first one.

 

Ohhh, man. You should have been there when it was aquatics vs robots. (Later Hylotls and Glitch)
It was a pretty big rivalry, (at least for this quiet forum) with both sides pretty equal.
The aquatics had a small lead, and I remember some posts were really rubbing it in. (Because at the time, it was assumed that only one would get in)
I never really liked most aquatic races, becuase they were all pretty much... Ugly. So I was a robot supporter. (robots are cool!)

Then, they announced that both would be added.
When I saw the hylotls, I was a little confused by the weirdness of the sprite, but I really liked the design.
However, tons of old aquatic people were kind of upset, and said that they hated it. Felt a bit of schadenfreude, that's for sure.

I still like the Glitch better, but I will play every race, including Hylotl.

 

Hylotl are my second favourite race, Human being first. I know I'll be playing as a human, but I'm looking forward to being very close with the Hylotl and using all of the Asian themed gear.

 

I believe that I saw some form of Hyotl racial armor is a set of samurai armor. Though I may be incorrect about this. Either way I am pretty sure this armor is in the game and I can't wait to get it.

 

I plan on Hyotl. I love fish people, underwater civilizations, and oriental culture/clothing. They're probably the race I'd enjoy the most next to the Apes and Robots.

 

I'll go fish, provided they add additional eye options and that stuff about being able to breathe underwater is true.

 

The Hylotl armour is what lets them breathe underwater and swim faster. So you CAN play as, say, an Avian and use their armour to breath underwater and swim faster. This is what I've heard at least and maybe they will be given a passive, who knows?

 

I'm playing one! Mainly for the fact that they are an aquatic race, and I love water

 

I am actually nervous of water in real life. Not to the point where I scream when I'm by a pool, I still swim and such. I was extremely close to drowning when I was about 11 though and so I've never wanted to go swimming that much since then. Still, I find aquatic life extremely interesting and usually play the aquatic race (assuming there is one) in games. In the Elder Scrolls games it works out perfectly as the aquatic race also make good sneaky characters.

 

I LOVE water and swimming IRL, and I swim like a fish, but I have an unhealthy fear of falling off of a boat into water. I'm sure it has something to do with having one foot in a boat, the other on a dock, and doing a split before I fell fully clothed in a lake in front of my entire family. Yup....good times lol.

 

That sounds terrifying, I can see why you have an aversion to water! For me it's the opposite, in video games i'm terrified of water if I can't see what's in it. It's funny you mentioned the Elder Scrolls, as Morrowind is what spawned my fear of video game water with slaughterfish and dreugh!

Putting in my two cents, it's a toss up for me between Novakid and Hylotl. previously Avian and Hylotl. If you can make multiple characters i'll definitely have one of both, and right now i'm leaning towards female Hylotl to start off with.

 

Haha, the only game I've been scared of water in is Super Mario 64. I don't remember what level(s) it was on but there was this fish thing that would come and eat you if you stayed in the water. I would just quit if I saw it. Probably not too bad now though.

 

i seriosly dout that you will only have one caracter even then you could just move that caracters file out and make a new one and switch the to out when you want to use the other caracter

 

I actually plan to make a hylotl as a multiplayer character, either them or a Novakid. I love things inspired by historical times, and my two favorites are the Samurai era (I KNOW there's a name for it) and the Wild West. So I'll be one happy Cosmos Crusader

Honestly, the only thing that was wounded that day was my pride. I pretty much just changed into my swimsuit and went in after that.

 

yeah, it's extremely likely. I'll likely make a Hylotl first and then try to progress a Hylotl and Novakid together in tandem. hopefully i can get Novakid armor for a Hylotl that way and vice versa..

I was going to play Hylotl, but now I'm torn between one and Novakid. I'm a sucker for Space Westerns. I'll probably wait and see when we get more info on race traits, but it's definitely going to be either Hylotl og Novakid.
