Who are these NPCs/People?

So I was wandering in a Gamma Arid planet and I came across these people. I don't think they're part of any mod that I have installed and when I spoke to them, one mentioned falling asleep and waking up with "Minikong" written everywhere.
Has anyone else encountered these people?

 

They're a new non-playable race added in the latest patch. My starting world had a huge village of them on it. I think they're supposed to be bunny people, but are actually apex in outfits (just like Agarans are just Florans with headwear). They likely haven't implemented proper dialogue text for them, hence why they use generic apex dialogue.

 

I didn't even think of the Mushroom people being Florans in disguise. I usually just ignore them as they never have anything good.
