Which Youtubers Do You Think Will Get Copies?

Maybe the yogsast, hero and yrimir.

 

Though he's obviously not your cup of tea, the fanbase is a quite large amount of possible customers. (Even if you don't see them that way.)

Thesw1tcher, SSohpkc, Smoshgames, Classic game room, and rev3games. Honestly as much as I like these smoshgames being my least favorite I doubt they will get. Does seem like something total biscuit would get because he does spotlight random new games. Now that I think about it OdysseyGamez or ockpii. Also more then likely gaming news sites will get it as well.

What is it you like about PewDiePie? I can't see the appeal myself, but I'd like to know what makes him so entertaining to others.

Well I have a youtube account. I don't make videos, but if I had Starbound early I might be inclined to start making some. Just throwing that out there. I have the potential to generate trillions of sales if you just invest in me. Trillions upon dozens of sales.

 

Love Classic Game Room, but don't they usually only do console games? Haven't watched them in a long time.

Beforehand, I want to say once again that I discovered him recently (like, 3 weeks ago, I think I stumbled on his videos when looking for a Let's play of Slender Man). As some may have gathered by the fact I did not know who Totalbiscuit and other youtubers were, I'm not very familiar with YouTubers in general (with the exception of the AVGN; difficult to ignore his existence... He may be one of the first YouTubers I ever watched, actually).

That being said, I just find some of his videos where he is scared shitless quite entertaining. Other videos... Not so much. His videos of Happy Wheels has been mentionned here, and failed miserably to make me laugh at all. The only videos I enjoyed so far are the ones in which he is playing horror games (that I would not be able to play alone - it is much safer to watch someone else play those and get scared to death instead of me... Though I do get scared myself when I am watching those, so... Yeah), and compilations of the funniest moments (which are, most often than not, the ones where he is caught off-guard).

Needless to say, if it is valuable informations about a game you're looking for, Pewdiepie really won't help you. His videos are for entertainment only.

So, well, that's about it I guess. I do not consider myself a fan of him (and, well, I dislike "Fans" in general, but that's an other subject; also, I'm aware of the bad reputation his "bros" have gathered, and I really don't want to be affiliated to such group), nor do I consider myself a hater. I'm just a part of the silent majority who is watching his videos I guess.

Let me give you a tip when arguing on this forum profanity dilutes the potency of the rebuttal, but I do agree with you I personally feel pewdipie is comedy for a younger age range in my opinion I would rather kids watch smosh.

Honestly of the yt personalities I know about, TotalBiscuit seems the best option. He has a lot of expressed intelligence when looking at new games and can be very tough, which I like. Also he seems to me to be one of the few people that wouldn't make it all about himself...running around making strange noises and screaming. Not that I don't want children to be entertained, just not yet.

I like to see AlChestBreach play starbound. He is not much of a regular reviewer but make funny videos.

 

My problem with the yogscast getting it is if they play starbound like they played Terraria (I.e. doing 3 episodes on it and then moving on), we are all going to be very dissapointed.
Then again, if the yogscast as a whole gets copies, then perhaps sjin, nilesy, or one of the smaller, less busy yogscast members will play it for more than 2 days.

Looking forward to the previews anyway, can't wait to see what kind of stuff they'll find in the game.

EDIT: Yes, Ockpii definitely deserves an early copy. He's one of the people we can be sure will play the game consistently up to Beta release.

 

I think it'll be the Yogscast, TotalBiscuit, and Jesse Cox who will get the game. Maybe people who make videos for starbound as well.
I'll probably watch all of them, if they make videos on it, but I'll mostly enjoy Jesse and Biscuit playing it. Jesse because, imho he's very funny with his terribad jokes, and Biscuit is very good at his reviews. He "cuts through the bullshit", as demanrisu said, and I pretty much agree with him on that post he made.
I also like that he played Guild Was 2, but that's just a little less on topic thing
