Of all the vanilla races, everyone should know that the Novakids are perfect because SPACE WESTERN THEME! Now we can all go to Sector X (when PvP is released/forced in Sector X) and have some Novakid players act out scenes from movies like The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly among other films.

HAHA I'm kidding please don't arrest me :<

The Apex are technically perfect. The very focus of Apex physiology is perfection, much like the Borg. Though, less robot-y.

I was being generally abrasive. You should have shot back at Avians! :p (Like, any species who regularly dies by smacking into windows isn't perfect either.) But sadly, ya missed that opportunity.

Hmmm time for Merlins magic juice (Edit: That just sounded wrong):

The list goes from imperfect to perfect/nearly perfect means, less optimized races are first (IMO):

Glitch: Do not really count as a organic life but are created to simulate life, however they are stuck in Medival age and because of their Hivemind they are not capable to leave it. However alter their "Programming"/Hivemind a little bit and allow it to advance and we got a race with real potential.

Hylotl: What to say about them... Hm... Cocky, Arrogant, "We want peace with everyone" amphibious creatures. The cockyness and arrogance does not disturb me (though if I would meet one of them I seriously would punch them into the face for being like that) but more their peacefull way of living. All dominant species we know so far either "supressed" the envirement arround them, adapted to the envirement and then altered it by growing and increasing in numbers or by simply "abusing" the envirement, making it work for them similar to a virus (compare humanity). All of these "ways" require some kind of aggressive behavior which I just dont see in the Hylotl, they need to be far more aggressiv to compete with the rest

Avian: Pretty much "average" I would say, good physical appearence, enough mental capacity, but all this religion stuff is just slowing them down alot. Therefor they are weaker as the other races because they are a bit slower in technological advances because of their somewhat strict religion...

Apex: Genetic engineering to improve mental capacity is a good thing. Living in a dictatorship where ONE INDIVIDUAL has the command is not good. They might be fairly advanced in technology and mental capacity but they probaly have bigger issues with being "split up" then humanity with being split into dozens of factions

Floran: Extremly powerfull physical appearence, very adaptiv and overall very strong compared to other species, they spread like a virus (like humans) and wipe out any competitors. Sadly they are primitiv (but hey, that can be fixed ;) ). They can reproduce unisex and use photosynthesis to gain power but need also any kind of meat to grow. Pretty interesting species, remove the primitivness they have (and some minor physical weaknesses (fire) by augmenting them with armor) and we got a species with limitless potential.

Humans: Home Planet got destroyed, yet they are alive and spreading again. We behave like a virus, are aggressiv enough and yet not too aggressiv to attack anything on sight. Anything being a threat either gets adapted by humans or destroyed. Either they behave so we can take some use of them or they will get annihilated. And humans got pretty decent mental capacity (I mean just compare to us nowadays). Though the whole "being split up into factions" could be fixed by putting all humans into a hivemind and altering their genes just a little bit (more physical strength).

So the perfect being: Theres none, everything got its flaws (even humans) butyou could get close to one if you create a hybrid out of Humans and Florans (not the kinky way of creating crossbreeds, srsly whoever thought about the kinky way is a perv, I mean by lab) basicly put a human mind/brain into a floran body and lower the Florans weaknesses a little then we would really have something terrifying... something that can think propper, reproduce easily, spread easily, and can basicly just wipe out any competitors at will and on top of that has a nice and fast technological progression.

    The perfect race would probably be one that doesn't have need of a physical body, i.e. a flowing consciousness that can be anywhere it needs to be or wants to be;
to notch up the Mary sue-factor even more, it should probably also be able to take posession fo beings of a particular sentience.
I wonder if a race liek that even has a notion of emotion or other such worldly concepts. I wonder if it's apathy would lead to it's stagnation.-... and eventual extinction....
    ...

    damn...

Each month has its own master race, I guess. Last month if you didn't like glitch you could die in a hole. This month, FLORANFLORANFLORANFLORAN... I wonder what next month will be.

Exactly what I'm talking about! :D

Though surviving to see us gettign as far as this would already be satisfactory for me ^_^

Heh, but sadly that isn't possible. At least for humans. The human brain (unless of course, they are brain-controlled, in which case it wouldn't be a democracy at all) will always disagree on at least one thing. With 7 billion people in the world, and more in the future, that won't happen until some body of power uses methods from the book 1984 or the Apex (which I am guessing Big Ape is Big Brother from the book).

Glitch is always perfect as they don't have to evolve to adapt. :p

I just realized, each race is a definitive example of the "ages" of our history. The Floran are hunting tribes, just waiting to grow and become civilizations. The Avians are slightly passed that, but they are obsessed with religion and so can not progress any further. The Glitch are stuck in medieval times due to their "hivemind". The Hylotl are obviously in the renaissance, as they seem like they want to learn more than any other race, a vibe I get when I read about that time. The Novakids are next, landing in the mid-to-late 1800s or even early 1900s due to their western cowboy theme. The humans are, in fact, only about 100 or 200 (most likely less, at the rate that we invent stuff) years away from us (real-life humans, like you and me. I hope). The Apex are the farthest along, and are at the point where they have reached the pinnacle of brainpower, seeing as they have the most advanced technology. Sadly, the only reason they have this is due to a Big Brother-ocracy, or however someone else would word it.

Just a note, but the avians actually possess advanced tech, they just have the aesthetic feel of the ancient egyptians/mayans (depends on who you ask) like the goa'uld from stargate.

Also the hylotl are feudal japan theme

Do the Avians really? I play Avian, and most NPCs I come across of my race tend to be donning priest robes and spears. Sometimes the OP guns, but not usually.I guess that's one place where they are strong.
Not really, considering nothing can be perfect, but Novakids are actually in the middle of the advancement chain, they aren't too smart or too dumb and they aren't too strong or too weak. Kind of like the balanced character from a fighting game (Ryu from street fighter comes to mind).

In the avian towers (hostile) they have computors and advanced scanners, including brainwave scanners, bioscanners and starmaps. Also, the ships that have matter block generators in them seem to be advanced avians, going by their dialouge
