Also excited for the Emily/Shane patch coming up next! Shane's basically a reeeeally pessimistic guy to me, Emily is much like a sister.
I suppose that depends on what your definition of "Best to marry" is. If it's from a mechanical perspective, then right now there's no difference—all spouses provide basically the same game effect (occasional chore-assistance). Maybe the meals they cook are different (I don't actually know), but that'd be pretty much it. If it's from a "Which marriage candidate is the best spouse, personality-wise," obviously the answer is Haley because #ILoveHaley.
My answer is... all of them! The best marriage candidate is completely and 100% subjective and based on your own tastes! All the bachelor(ette)s of SDV are very developed and have a lot of pros/cons to them, making them much like real people. But love wins all, of course. I chose Sebastian personally due to his personality and development #sebsquad But really, all of them are pretty great and have their own arcs of development.
That all depends on your personal taste. Each Bachelor/Bachelorette has a unique personality. When you marry, they all have pretty much the same effect- they will sometimes feed your animals or water crops or randomly cook you breakfast. The only real difference is that once you upgrade your house a second time, the Bachelor/Bachelorette's room will be added to your house. There is nothing you can do in the room, nothing clickable, but that is really the only difference. And the fact your farmer can be female and have a female wife or be a male farmer and have a male husband Otherwise, Haley is my Waifu for Laifu
The correct answer is *who do you feel a connection to?* As a guy, I don't have any romantic interests in dating any of the bachelors. Of the bachelorettes available, it's a toss-up between Abby, Leah, and the soon-to-be-included Emily for me, because I have a stronger attachment for them than the others.
Yep, I can agree. It totally depends on you, your preferences, your personality. If I had to write something about which bachelor(ette) would be perfect for which kind of person, it'd be something like this: Alex: Stereotypical high-school-movie "jock". Conventionally good looking, works out (hot body), into sports. Not the brightest, but very determined and trains hard every day. Probably rather conservative with a narrow view of things. Can be very sweet though, would most likely be protective. Great match (IMO) if: outgoing/willing to be outgoing, happy/enthusiastic, not physically lazy, into sports or ok with talking a lot about it, not too far from the norm look and personality-wise, not expecting super deep conversations, fine with complimenting Alex and supporting his goals Elliot: Poetic, overly-handsome guy. Admires nature and sees beauty and inspiration in everything. Very polite - a real gentleman. Mature but still able to have fun. Assumingly very fond of economy [green-minded]. Could imagine him taking you out for dinner and being someone who always holds doors open for you. Great match (IMO) if: artistic, able to talk about inspirations and impressions, open-minded, fine with him asking for advice w his writing (and also aware that he'll put quite some time into it), mature, more on the liberal side Harvey: Least stereotypical. Down-to-earth and clearly managed the step into adulthood. Quite occupied with his work. Can be adorably awkward sometimes. Interested into aircraft but afraid of heights. Serious type. Great match (IMO) if: friendly and down-to-earth, accepting, enjoying everyday things, living healthy (or willing to do so), not too childish, dreaming of living a "regular" life Sam: Full of energy. Friendly and fun, someone that makes you laugh (unless you're too 'mature' to have fun). Probably the most "buddy"-bachelor. Positive and uplifting, able to motivate people to a certain degree. Passionate about music and his band. Likes to be both inside and outside, playing video games, skating, etc. Great match (IMO) if: friendly and not (too) grumpy, either full of energy too or in need of someone to carry them along, ok with him being extroverted, not taking life too serious, his energy shouldn't be draining or exhausting you Sebastian: The most introvert of them all. Enjoys computer-stuff, sci-fi/fantasy things and comic books. Tends to be negative from time to time and has problems with social interactions. Seems a bit stoic/cold but actually very sweet. Independent person. Drives a motorcycle. Most likely would talk about deep stuff and emotions (not in a 'cutesy' way though). Great match (IMO) if: allowing him to warm up to you, somewhat intelligent, introverted too (or extrovert accepting that he NEEDS time for himself), thoughtful, patient and not too demanding - if he feels too 'down' to work for a few days don't pressure him, accepting of his lack of motivation that sometimes occurs, sharing his interests, non judgemental Abigail: Not comforming to the norm. Feminine look but a bit more "masculine" hobbies (exploring, going on adventures, playing video games). Likes to be indoors unless exploring. Enjoys spooky/creepy stuff as well. Sometimes seems to be stuck in a teenager-phase. Not afraid to say what she thinks. Rather introverted. Great match (IMO) if: against social norms and "normality", not too serious or mature, open-minded, different, able to listen to her ranting about stuff (parents?), complaining about society together, willing to go on adventures with her but also ok with "just chilling", not superficial Haley: Typical "popular, shallow girl". Pretty and preoccupied with looks. Most likely trouble with accepting that's different/weird. Prefers letting others do stuff for her, not a fan of work. Might seem a bit conceited at first, but tries to change and become a better person. Passionate about photography. Great match (IMO) if: able to help her become less self-centered, patient, not too negative or depressed, preferably extroverted, fine with her love for clothes and fashion (and her talking about it), enjoying looking at her photographs or providing ideas, not too far from the norm, ocassionally still happy to spoil her (as long as it's not counter-productive) Leah: Artistic, creative girl. Enjoys going outside and letting herself be inspired by her surroundings. Very friendly and sweet. Unfortunately sometimes a bit insecure about her work. Nature seems to be important to her. Great match (IMO) if: kind, open-minded and thoughtful (especially about art and it's meaning), supportive of her work, creative, not too harsh, willing to listen to her and inter- ested in her ideas and her as a person Maru: Rather serious and mature. Intelligent and enjoys science, mechanics and space - loveably enthusiastic about her interests. Responsible and trustworthy. Great match (IMO) if: able to show interest in her works and thoughts, a good listener, either intelligent and smart or striving to gain knowledge and new insights, mature and capable of being serious and reliable when the moment calls for it, encouraging Penny: Incredibly responsible, mature and a real care-taker. Obviously very empathetic and a people-pleaser. Pushed into a kind of "adult role" bc of her mom's irresponsible behavior. Family-person. Ocassionally acts 'older' than she is and sees life as something to be taken very seriously. Great match (IMO) if: kind/friendly, a certain degree of empathy should be present, resisting the temptation to (unwillingly) take advantage of her kidness, willing to look out for her and save her from being a pushover, mature but capable of showing her the ease and fun of living, accepting a certain "closeness" Penny needs, down-to-earth ...and now I'm going to sleep. It's exactly 5 a.m. Wanted to go to sleep 2 hours ago. But, you know, priorities. Oh and Sebastian is the best hands down.
For me, If your character is gay: Alex (jock tries to put up a front because his grandparents don't approve of his attraction to men. His lines are also funny and more suggestive if you marry him to a guy, and it flows a lot better like no sexist comments like not throwing balls with you because you're a girl or order you a salad while he eats a steak. His romance is pretty sweet overall. Talking about how he wants to take care of you once he makes it as a football player) If your character is straight male: Leah (She's like a sweet girl next door) If your character is a lesbian: Abigail (The story could be about her never knows she could feel this way about another girl, especially with the Ouja board) If your character is straight female: Sebastian (Girls love emo brooding misunderstood type) It's not one side fit all. I feel like each character fit better in certain narrative for me.
The hottest one obvs unless their name is Haley. Then you burn it. Bask in the flames. Regale yourself with tales of victory over the blonde she-devil. Never again will she blow off your advances with scathing, sarcastic remarks. Never again...
Penny, the lucky penny. 'Find a penny, pick it up. All day long, you'll have good luck!' Not a superstitious person, but i have no regrets for taking her as my farmer's waifu.
Harvey. That older, more experienced and probably hairy man... But seriously, he is a sweetheart. Always worried about your well being, fixing things in the house, being sweet as he can. He's my dream hubby.
This is the moment I fall in love with Harvey. I like a man who's not afraid to show his weak side. I also have a thing for nerds. My main two files are between Alex and Harvey. They're both just too adorable.
I am still decided whether to marry Harvey or Sebastian. I really like both. But I mean I did make Harvey's 10 heart event screenshot my background on my computer...so maybe that is saying where my heart truly lies.
Maru said that Harvey is not her type while Maru will also said that she's not sure when Sebastian will have to courage to ask out Abigail. It seems like Harvey doesn't have anyone while Sebastian has already had Abigail. One thing about Harvey is that he will continue to work as a doctor at the clinic while Sebastian will stop working on his freelance and just talk about how he thinks his family must be happy now that he moves out. It just seems like a lot of unresolved stuffs if you marry Sebastian for me. Harvey is just sweet overall and talking about giving you massage. He's like the adorkable husband that dotting on his spouse.
Yeah that is true. But a part of me really connects with Sebastian and understands him and wants to cheer him up. Also, I feel like we would have the most in common and have the most to talk about. But also might get annoyed of the negativity and never wanting to go out and do stuff sometimes. But I don't know every time I ask my fiance if he wants to go do something I have to drag him away from Halo. So maybe I just have a type... lol
When you think about it, Abigail can do a lot of good for Sebastian. She's very positive and cheerful, and she's also pretty geeky, into video games while Sebastian is also pretty much into computer and stuffs. They're also in a band together. Abigail could do a good job at cheering Sebastian up. The two seem to understand each other very well. Certain relationship like between Haley and Alex I wouldn't see working out, but some characters just go together very well like Elliot and Leah who are both broke artistic people looking for a break or Abigail and Sebastian. I just like Harvey's blushing face though, I find it to be the cutest out of all the guys, it's just adorkable. I personally can't get married to either Sam or Sebastian, they both have a future ahead of them and when you get married to them, they abandoned their career and just become a househusband. Elliot is a writer and he's mostly just procrastinate most of the time, so nothing changes much whether he lives at a shack or on a farm. Harvey continues to work as a doctor, Alex's dream is basically a pipedream, he's over 20, and it's almost impossible to become a professional football player at that age, he's mostly wanting to success for the sake of success to show to his dead mother and his dad who was abusive toward him due to being jealous. Alex just does it because it's the only thing he's good at and thinks he has a shot at since he thinks he's stupid and can't read. Alex does stuffs to please others, even though he hates it, he wants to be a football player so people will cheer him on, he tries to put up a front, his hair is stylish because others like it even though he hates his own hair, even after marrying him, he wants to continue to lift weight to look good for you. He's a very insecure guy, and he doesn't think he's good at anything. That's why it makes the most sense for me to marry him, even though I also like Harvey a lot. I feel like Alex needs help the most out of all the guys. After being married, he's actually very happy to be with you since he tells you that you're giving him the family he never had as a kid and talks about how he loves the farm and how big it is that allow him to do exercises. He can finally have a successful farm and a happy family, basically allowing him to success in his dream. He never wanted to become a football player, but just about a successful life. That's how I view all the bachelors and why I choose each one, I guess.
I like how much thought you put into how marriage effects their futures. I don't think anyone else has really thought of stuff like that. I suppose in real life it is like that too. You find someone you like and you constantly wonder if you're good for them and if their life would be better without you. I like that Stardew Valley makes people have real emotions and thought trains towards the people as if they were real. It isn't like other games where you just don't care/worry about your effect on others.
Even though I don't like Alex, this is the best breakdown of his character that I've seen yet. Granted, I haven't really bothered to build up a relationship with Alex, so what do I know.
