Where would one find uranium?

I'm attempting to make some durasteel, which I was told takes some normal steel and a uranium rod.
I've got steel, just the uranium then, right?

I figured uranium is normally associated with nuclear power and radioactivity, so I guessed I'd search some planets labelled as radioactive. However... No luck so far.

Anyone have any tips for finding uranium?

Your guess was correct, you do find uranium on radioactive planets. Dig deep and keep your eyes peeled for a bright green ore - that's uranium! If the radioactive planet you're on has poisonous oceans, find a different one - a radioactive tropical planet will allow you to actually dig into the planet and thus will provide much more ore.

Also, I believe you need titanium, not steel. Titanium can also be found in the depths of radioactive planets. It's white ore with weird grey holes.

Hope this helps you out! C:
