Where will you settle (or will you even settle at all?)

My ship is my home
Planetside bases will be a shack with a bed unless the planet is particularly interesting. Then I might put some posters up or something.

 

I want to play as freelancer and my home should be my ship. I'll travel around the galaxy and yeah, probably do some quest related things.

 

I'm going to take over enemy houses/Fortresses/Bases/etc. when I can and keep my Ship as a solid backup

You CAN place any blocks inside your ship, right? So........... Jesus christ, you could farm inside the ship!

 

Honestly I have no idea how I will play. I think I am likely however to make outposts on each planet that I stay at for awhile to offer some shelter and likely have a main base on a beautiful planet that I would wish to return to a lot to sort out things. However I might use my ship for that more and just have a palace somewhere to decorate and claim as my home. Until I am actually playing and such I don't know what I am going to do...

 

Probably a jungle planet, or once I find good snow gear, an ice planet

 

At this stage of the Beta not at all Cause when i build something then a real BIG Base with all things i need

I would probably go for both ways. If possible, I would make multiple characters that only uses one of both methods.

I would probably visit a few planets first before I settle down. Of course, every planet will have some kind of shelter, but truly a huge high-tech base of operations of awesomeness will be at one specific planet. I would not choose a world that has a very hostile environment as base, but a peaceful world, regardless of its level. Screw it if the worlds' resources and creatures are low-tier: it is a secure home base. If I want adventure, powerful enemies and dangerous environments I will go to another planet. I am that creative guy that ends up decorating huge bases for hours just to make it look pretty. Enemies that break down your creations or a rough environment does not really help in that case, does it?

But maybe I end up doing something totally different. We will see...

 

I will land, I will dig down, I will be gone for days underground, and I will come back up and build a castle. I will do this on every planet I find.

 

I will probably have lots of temporary shelters until I find a planet I really like. Then I will build a luxury home. Complete with swimming pools and tanning beds.

 

I guess i'd build a starter base on the starter planet since you're gonna be there a while and really just for the memories of the first planet Other then that i'd probably build small outposts on and planet a came across until I found a planet I like, Thinking more of a desert, Ocean or ice. Also at the same time i'd keep more important items on my ship rather then leaving them where ever I may make a home/main base what ever you want to call it xD

 

I know, right? But yeah, it'd be fun to live in a foxhole for a small time

 

I will make a base on every world I'll be spending longer periods of time on so I can have a base of operations. On planets I'm only visiting for resource gathering I'll at most make a small indoors area.

 

It doesn't seem wise to settle down and build big when the entire game is still in a state of flux.

 

I'll be tirelessly searching for the perfect sun drenched ocean planet and set up my little island base off the coast of the star ocean. :'D

 

Once I find a ocean planet(if they exist), I'm settling for good! Until then, I will make nice little houses that carry my stuff, not big, but not small either.

But I will store the most important parts on my ship, since it is currently the safest area in the game.
