I've been playing for hours now and haven't gotten one piece of leather since this last update that just seemed to download earlier today. What gives? Has the leather drop rate been stretched so far that it's nigh impossible to get? Or did the drop rate get screwed up somehow? I just want some leather. I got 6 yesterday in like, one hour tops. Haven't found one all day today. Anyone else notice this?
I just got 2 leather from my first 2 kills with my bow testing if leather dropped. Are you using the hunting bow or knife?
Must be RNG again. I don't get much of it, admittedly, but I always try to finish off monsters with a bow or combat knife (I'm new to this.)
I have been using nothing but the hunting bow and knife to kill 99% of anything I've run into on 4-5 planets now and I haven't got any leather at all still.
That's insanely bad luck though; even 6 an hour is terrible. I usually get all 33 in well under an hour.
RNG is an ass sometimes. On Terraria, I spent something like 10-20 platinum just trying to get a good modifier on a pair of boots. Turns out there's no reduced chance, I just had terrible luck. I've never really leather-farmed though, so it's just me getting what comes to me.
Ah, I know that feeling: half my plat gone and right back where I started, lol. Then you finally do get Legendary and you were clicking so fast, you go right past it
I've been lucky enough to get the best modifier for an item when I first obtain it sometimes, but I don't think I've ever landed a good modifier via reforging.
Ouch, I definitely burned through the plat, but never failed to get the mod I sought eventually. It was always great to get the item with the best mod already on it, though. That happened about 3 times in 500 hours for me, lol.
I got an Unreal sniper rifle on my first try, I believe I've gotten a godly dark lance and flower pow before, a couple of others too but that's about it.
I'm having the same problem here. I'm trying to kill monsters of all kinds with my crossbow which the wiki says I can use but still no leather.
seriously it's probably just the RNG gods making you their plaything. or maybe in the latest version not all monsters drop leather. i'm not actually sure because i still haven't played the latest version because i'm an asshole
