I know that usually when you press shift the amount of blocks your Matter Manipulator broke would be 1

single block breaking


But for some reason That function has been disabled for me.

I used the shift for single function many times before but now its gone.

Where might i find that function in the controls set up of the game?


I looked through them but none of them where openly obvious

(i think i deselected the ability to single destroy in the functions and would like to retoggle it)

So where is the control set up button for single block building in the controls menu?

 

Can I see a screenshot of your attempt to use the Matter Manipulator? Also, the "Tutorial" label is for people making tutorial threads, and not to request one.

I cant make the 3x3 into a 1x1 and shift isnt working

if anyone else has any ideas where the change control thing for shifting blocks is please let me know

 

This isn't a fix but if you could verify integrity of cache on steam perhaps that could help. Maybe removing mods or resetting settings/config would fix it. The functionality of shift in-game works correctly,such as typing in names or text works correctly right?

i updated to the slightly happier giraffe a few days ago
i can see my name and text when i talk

i just cant shift

(how would one go about resetting configs files/verify integrities of things inside files)

 

If you have steam go into your library,right click the game and got the files tab,or look for one like it,and click the button that says verify integrity of cache,note to exit game and this may take time.

still no shift to small

Where should that function be location in the files anyone know?

 

I haven't started the game in a while; and I'm currently in class so I can't check at the moment, but I'm certain that you can change the keybinds in the Options menu. Well, fairly certain.

 

My problem is i can't find the actual keybind for smaller building

Silly question: You've tried to rest all of the Controls to the default correct?

i just checked all the controls that used shift to do anything

there was 2 of them that used shift

neither of them controlled the small block thing

im not sure what i did

I remember having that when I started playing Starbound for the first time. I poked about on google for a bit before just trying to reset the defaults. Bam! Worked. No idea what changed, but it worked.
