Where is the SCIFI in this game? (And I want a molten core)

No, really, did you not do any research?
Because your main melee weapons are SWORDS, AXES and HAMMERS made out of ORE.
You can craft guns later in the game, or buy some from a Threat 10 planet, but that's about it in terms of "futuristic" science fiction.
Which you really don't get the definition of, because sci-fi isn't exclusively shiny gadgets and space ships. It's about any science or pseudoscience that is fictional.

Edit: I'll give an example because I'm not sure you'd comprehend what I said.
Jurassic Park is a science fiction book and movie, yet it's set in what was modern times. There were no space ships, flying cars, or laser beams.

OP, before you start complaining about the tutorial and progression system, THIS IS A BETA RELEASE AND SHOULD BE TREATED AS SUCH.

Game balance will be addressed and the learning curve/grind will be smoothened out as the beta progresses.

Every time you start getting frustrated about something, just REMEMBER THIS IS A BETA STATE RELEASE, NOT THE FINAL ONE, SO LOTS OF STUFF IS BROKEN OR IMBALANCED OR NOT IMPLEMENTED YET.

 

i still think all these complaints will vanish when the armor/damage problem get fixed.

 

We've only given a few tiers. Technologically better stuff will keep coming. The Penguin UFO will likely go up tiers. Beta Beta, etc etc.

 

by keep coming you mean implement more diverse weaponry on the first tiers or you still need to go up the tier the get more diverse weapons.

because right now, ranged people is kinda screwed.
they only have a slow ass bow that it seems is not even meant as a actual weapon and more of a resource tool.

some peashooters and launchers would be good.

 

OP, I don't think the problem with your post is exactly what you're trying to say, it's how you're saying it. You're kinda being an asshole right now.

 

I don't know this guy is having such troubles. It only took me three hours to obtain full copper armor, a knave breastplate, and Default 1.0. (Which is a broadsword.)

Anyways. Built a new beacon, died 2 times fighting the penguins, but when I went down after that, UFO disappeared. And that kids is a collossal bug which amplifies the already existing design flaw of forcing players to mine for 2 hours to get a beacon.

Also the forum and steam forums are filling up with complaints about this issue. So everybody who called me names, SUCK IT.

I do see a slight point with the OP's sentiment, even if he was a little harsh about stating it. You come off a space-ship. Now arguably there's a need for a sword and some armor if you can't construct a force-field yet. But when I was making my wooden bow I was thinking, "So you're telling me I couldn't manage to rip apart a small sub-system in my ship and get enough scrap to hobble together a basic low damage blaster?". I can see where making a cross-bow that shoots laser bolts would take some work, but, you are holding a device in your hands that literally manipulates matter so you would think you'd have enough understanding to be able to skip basic stone and wood bows and go straight to a low end 5 dmg laser pistol.

 

Do you know what beta means? It means developers releasing game (for money) and players find bugs. Then players complain about these bugs to pressure developers to fix it.

It is not about bathing in the glory of found bugs and saying thank you for stuff not working.

 

What exactly are you so angry about?

 

There's a distinct difference between "reporting bugs and issues" and "complaining". A beta is for the former. You are doing the latter. Have you ever heard of the term "constructive criticism"?

Also, is your reason for insulting people really "they insulted me first"? My, that's an enlightened way to view things. An eye for an eye sure is mature and helpful.

 

Well, I can see that other people are being kinda rude, but you're just instigating it at this point.

 

Oh for the love of God people play nice, don't make the devs sorry they didn't keep the game until it was ready.

 

OP did you accidentally download the old beta and not the fully completed game? Cause that may be your issue.
