Where does one acquire the upgrade for MM?

Maybe i'm a complete idiot here, but I seem to be unable to find the upgrade for the matter manipulator to collect liquids.

So far I have done around 4-5 quests and i'm on the part where I need to collect oil and create steel bars for the first time, but I don't know how to upgrade the matter manipulator to do so? Is there a button I push or something?

Well there aren't any, i've checked it about a dozen times, unless there is a button i'm missing

 

Should be in the Talk > Commands part of S.A.I.L. (Not the mission part, not the tech part, not the 3d print part).

 

Yea i've looked in there, all it has is the FTL drive command and the teleport command[DOUBLEPOST=1422637579][/DOUBLEPOST]Gotta be kidding me, I went this entire time without doing the teleport activation command. Nevermind everyone

 

Wait. What teleport command? The only one i can think of is "activate teleporters" and that should be gone a long time ago.

 

Are you on fix engine so you can travel within system or are you already able to fly to other planets?

If you are able to fly to other planets and is not showing a MM upgrade then you might already have it. Have you ever seen any MM upgrades in that panel?

 

might have to fix the teleport one first then go down and collect resources to make the crafting table and furnace, you need metal bars to upgrade the MM so i'm guessing if you haven't done the quest to get the furnace yet then the upgrades won't be available

 

Wait... You mentioned FTL, that quest is so misleading...><

You will have to complete that one in order to go to other planets, if it is one that needs core fragments.
You will have to dig down to core to get those.

Unsure what 4-5 quests have been done....

 

Yea I figured out what the problem was. I never pushed the "activate teleporters" command because I thought it was just a fancier and more in depth way of using the teleporters to beam down to the planet, instead of it being an actual progress marker. So I've gone this entire time without pushing it.

Now I just upgraded my MM to collect liquid

 

I didnt even know you could leave the ship without pressing it first xD.

 

the order should be Reboot SAIL>activate teleporter>beam down, gather wood and make workbench>get fibers to make bandages>make bow/spear, hunt monsters and cook their meat>make furnace> smelt copper>make iron anvil.

somewhere in those last 3 quests the MM upgrades should start unlocking, first upgrade requires 10 copper bars to increase MM speed, then 10 gold bars and 10 titanium bars for liquid collection. thats as far as I've gone

 

Yer, but like I said I skipped activate teleporters. When I pushed activate teleporters a few moments ago it skipped a ton of quests, luckily I didn't have to do all those over again

Titanium?! nooooo.... I don't think it would be titanium, as you would not be able to get to those type of systems. Well not safely...

That is like saying you have to get oil for the liquid upgrade in a sense. Considering you need steel in order to unlock those type of systems to get titanium...

 

Dont worry, its incorrect. The liquid upgrade requires silver bars. The next upgrade after that requires titanium and gold.

(I know your answer is likely sarcasm, but its hard to tell on the internets)

 

oh wait sorry, the gold and titanium are for the size upgrade after getting the liquid one, my bad. i want to say it was 10 silver for the liquid one now that i think about it.

Actually I was half serious with the first bit, and got literal after that... I know titanium isn't required hence my deductive reasoning response. Well analytical....
Just exaggerative in the no part. lol
