Where do you buy this game when it's released?

I really would not mind where the game is sold, as long as I can buy it online. I prefer steam mainly because they do not tax me on every damn thing, I have nothing big against tax, but it does get depressing when your paypal has $30 on it when the tax of the game hits little over $30 total.:(

I haven't really talked it over with Tiy, of course, and there's not a set price currently, but I really don't think the price of the game would go as high as $30.

I wouldn't want a steam release as a main release as steam has many problems...
But yeah multiplayer would be epic on steam

Yeah I'm voting for steam too. I've had no problems with it and it's better than Origin by.. Infinite, also love it for Achievements! C:

I think Steam is a good choice.

at no point did i indicate that steam sets the price, BUT i have seen terarria in the steam sales many many times for 1/4th of its original price so it would be possible to get this game much cheaper then other places on steam.

the developers set the price and then steam adds 20% - 30% on top as there cut. anyway i still think steam is cheaper then anywhere else at times. borderlands GOTY for a fiver 8)

i would buy it on steam, cuz i friggin luv steam :D
but if it were to release boxed (on launch date) i would drop everything i had in my hands and RUN doen to the store, cuz boxed versions are just better (in my opinion)

I think that starbound can be up there with terraria in the steam top 10 ;p

I hope they have an alternative to Steam, like gog.com (which now features indie games) or the humble store, because Steam's
    • DRM is annoying (with my bad internet I sometimes have to wait minutes to start a game)
    • regional pricing totally sucks
The developers of "Legend of Grimrock" are doing it right, if you buy it on their site you get a Steam key and the direct download without DRM.

This should be a requirement for Starbound if it does get put on Steam (Hopefully it does).....Space Hobo Achievement! : Crashlanded on an unkown world!
If I do recall correctly, this is how the game starts doesn't it? I don't remember where I saw this, it may have been speculation, oh well. But you MUST have an achievement related to space hobo's! :p

    3-SMS:The cheap,and the easy/lazy from.¡Buy there!.
    4-Steam/Desura/other:¡Lovers of great games like BB3! (i dont like BB3,is just a example :p).

I know that a lot of people have said this before me, but I will but this game whether it is on steam or not. I would rather it be in stores though because my internet is absolutely horrid.

Maybe we could have it on both Steam and disc then? Skyrim, for example is on steam but you can still buy it in store and install from the disc for people worried about long DL speeds and such.

Steam = Achivements, Cloud, Server lists, LOTSA PLAYERS.
If anything, not Desura. I will flat out refuse to play if it is Desura only.

    Maybe...

If I'm in a bad mood...

Nah, this game looks too bloody awesome. I'd buy it, but I would try everything I could to make it as unDesuray as possible.

I'd also buy it from steam... If it worked properly for once!

Edit: Misread the thread but oh well. My guess is like everyone else's, though I'd assume it would be on steam, seeing as Terraria was on steam too.

I personally hope not. Indie games tend to have more success which are not into steam. I.E: Minecraft. And due to terraria being famous, and the developing of this game, everyone from terraria is most likely to move here, and buy the game again. Or well, that's what I'll do at least. I'll still buy it if it's on steam tho'.
