Oh of course not, and I whole heartedly agree with you, it's just a shame Indie companies don't have the same resources as most devs.

Ah so it would slow down the overall release date!? Thank you Blue you're the best!

well i have 2 suggestions. Steam of course and perhaps derusa which is more for indie type games

Steam would have lots of users may lead to a discount war though so several avenues might be best bet awaiting more info as well

Steam, as far as I can see there is almost no downsides to putting Starbound up on a great service like it.

ever heard of paysafe cards? i dont know if you have those whereever you live, but they are quite spread by now, and they are the main reason why steam is the best contribution platform for indie games. no online banking involved, just take your pocket money to the next petrol station and buy one.

Of course we have them here, but I have to be 18 to buy them, that is the only problem with them. But nontheless, I already found a way to buy the game, but thank you anyway! ;)

I sort of hope it gets released on Steam and Desura.

Steam would be okay, but if not I can live with that too. Always having to log in is annoying sometimes. ^^

I mainly use steam for my PC games and it would be awesome to have most of the same games in one store.:D

Only issue I have with steam is the occasional hiccup in its startup which just requires a deletion of my .blob file and a quick update. Those who hate on steam are either bandwagoners or have some outlier experience.

I'd like to see it being sold on as many platforms as possible The wider the audience, the better. Unless of course Desura hates steam or vice versa or any of that other shalalay.. :/

Buying it regardless of where it's released.

I had no idea it existed until yesterday.

Now I want it more than anything.

I'll get a Steam copy for sure. Steam integration has pretty much been confirmed, so not only am I getting it from a distributor I'm already at home with, I'm getting Added Valueâ„¢.

I'll probably buy it from Steam directly, but there's two deal breakers for me. And it will not be a Steam exclusive, because that would not work for Linux.

    1. A 4-pack deal. Hopefully there will be one 'cause I am getting that.
    2. A fair price. Europeans typically do not get that on Steam, due to taxes or whatever. Publishers can of course set their prices, but the default price policy is not entirely fair. If it were to be sold on, say, the Humble Store, I might go for that since all their prices are in good ol' USD (example: Trine 2 is, for me, more expensive on Steam).

I'll buy it in anyway. I just hope it's Steam.
As mentioned before, Steam does have great features (achievements and what-not) that could be included.

I would really love a Steam release. Most of my games are on there(close to 100) and nothing bad has ever happened. Plus, I would love seeing "StarBound" and "Terraria" right next to each other on my game list!
