Where did you build your main base?

I stuffed mine on a ship, but I made a tiny lab on my home planet also.

 

I made my home base by digging out all the dirt around ta large underground gold temple. I furnished it from the labs so now it looks like I am observing all the sentries (who I left alive). Every now and then they shot at the wall when I get to close which is nice. Like having a giant ant farm.
I got lucky in that the beam down point was in one of the large pools outside the temple which is what gave me the idea.

 

On a Level 1 Snow Planet.
Built a Traditional Japanese house, with trees that look like cherry blossoms surrounding the area. It was a 3 story house with 3 guest rooms complete with it's own Wardrobe, bed, shelves and chest. There's also the masterbed room that takes a whole floor by itself.

On that planet there's a Moon and a desert planet in orbit.
On the moon I built a small moon base for storage, NPC housing/bunker, and an incomplete/ruined docking area for ships and mechs.(Can't dock any of those two so I just made it look like the docking area was destroyed.)
On the Desert planet I made an underground base that also has a docking area for my ship, one for mechs and another for vehicles. Ship docking area is still under construction since it's missing a horizontal door/hatch that should be the entrance. The Mech and vehicle docks have a tunnel leading to the surface.

 

Ahah, now here's a thread that's worth resurrecting.

I typically just build my base on my starting planet. However, the last base I made with my friend was one we specifically chose because it had glow rain.

 

I specifically look for a Snow planet, that hopefully has a moon. Then what kind of trees/secondary traits the planet has. I saw one that has like 2 moons and 1 smaller planet in orbit BUT the snow planet had brains growing on trees, FREAKED me the F out. Who wants to be surrounded buy BRAINS all day?

I'm planning on building on an asteroid field, a snow planet, or just a regular planet without meteor showers (prob this)

because last thing I want is a bunch of things destroying my base and making me cry manly tears of manliness

I don't think they liked me being there. :S

 

My Solution for the Meteor Show was build a thick glass dome around my base(Moon). I also made sure the actual structure's walls were fairly thick, and the base also had parts of it underground which was connected to a bunker with the blocks to rebuild the base.

Surprised they haven't revolted yet... Even more surprised that you just didn't kill their king and took over the castle then expanded from it...

Built my first one next to a village with shops. Figured that when an finally update comes out maybe a sell system will be implemented. Still waiting.

 

What was scarier was his guards... It was a giant on a horse!... okay so maybe with out the horse but still scary

find a planet where the landing site is a middle in a NPC-town, digging up to make a base like bunker. super safe. even its lv 10 planet.

 

The wise words of my friends: "Tier 10 tentacle planet or go home!" Is where our homebase has always been! No real reason outside of it being kinda silly having your home with the most dangerous kind of tentacles!

Although with tentacle biomes being available only in delta we might reconsider with the next patch since we'll have more people. Typically we each have a house but each base has been different. The only standard is the "elevator to hell" which is just a nice man made tunnel accessible near spawn that goes straight down to the planet's core. In case you just wanted to die or something

 

I cleared out a pirateship and claimed it as my own.

 

I established a base on a red planet in Alpha Sector, as it had no meteor showers and the spawn area was nice. The planet even has those giant flowers that I can use for making bandages --> Nanowraps. The base is actually turning into a fortified town and I even had to make a sewer system in order to keep water flooding my garden.

 

I personally choose the ship because it has enough room for storage, all the kinds of crafting tables (I have extra because I play with mods), and some beautiful aesthetics.
I always used the ship and it had enough space but now I use the Fully Customizable Ships Mod and it's a blast having a ship the shape (and almost the size) of an Imperial I Class Star Destroyer.

 

I built mine on the first planet I spawned in, nice forest planet in the alpha sector. I built a wooden cottage with a back garden at first like I useally did in Minecraft. Then a meteor strike smashed my house and the chest that held all my items which despawned when I was killed, which also meant that my house was completely flattened when I respawned. So now I've built a huge bunker underground with Titanium outsides while I try to figure out how to grow trees underground.

 

I made mine 20,000 leagues under the surface on a Tier10 snow planet. In the molten core of a snow planet, because it seemed like a funny idea at the time.

 

I've been building my main bases on my ship, I haven't really built anything worth it's salt on a planet aside from my underground bunker which is a pre built village of sorts, I just decorated it.

After this upcoming update I might actually build something legit.
