When will we see the Hylotl's

Were getting a LOT of new info, and were being told whos working on what, which is really fantastic and nice, but im still a little worried. It seems that nobody is currently working on the Hylotl lore (im probably just impatient, im sure someone actually is) and ive been waiting since they released the Apex lore QnQ

 

Hylotl's for life, don't change their name, just give us lore and make it official... we are infact the universes badasses.

 

I too am looking forward to this. They are my 3rd fav race and will end up playing one at some point im sure.

We also lack any human lore... granted They'll probably just not do anything special with it (crying shame really) but still, Hylotls arent alone.

I'd like to see both Hylotl and Human lore and it'd be nice if it was something different, rather than "The Hylotl live in a society akin to feudal Japan" which is in all likelihood the direction they'll go in. As for humans, I'd like them to do something special, give them some lore to make them less generic, but I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a lore announcement for humans at all.

What's to be said about humans? We already have an example of our culture, our religions, our history. A hundred or so years between now and the game are likely to change little in our lifestyle. We'll still be hyper consumptive colonists spreading into the stars. Without changing the nature of humanity, I doubt there would be anything particularly eccentric about human lore.

 

Thats how I say it. You and I just spelled the "O" sound differently. Of course mine was in Dragon language, so...

AAAAAHHHH I'm so glad you know what that is! I'm sure that's where the devs got the name from.

 

It could be done and they are waiting for the right time to release it. Or they have other things to work and finalize first. The scope of the game is fairly large and the fact that they aren't working on a specific part after a few days should not be so alarming.

 

Nonsense, they could take human lore in any direction. Hell, even the humans in Star Wars have pretty interesting lore same with Humans in Warhammer for example (especially with the God Emperor). They could do any number of things to make humans eccentric:

1. Humans could have originated on a different planet. (Like in Star Wars)
2. Human history is lost, it is unknown where they came from.
3. Humans originated on Earth, formed a single government based on a religion that claims humans are the master species.
4. Humans originated on Earth, formed a government based on science and discovery and spread out to explore the galaxy. (Star Trek)
5. Humans originated on Earth, the planet began to decline rapidly (alien attack, ecosystem collapse) and they fled to the stars in colony ships and now exist as a nomadic species.
6. Humans originated on Earth, fled the planet due to any number of reasons, colonized another star system and started an Empire from there.

These are only 6 suggestions. Human nature doesn't affect our lore whatsoever, if it did, we'd all have an identical culture, which most certainly isn't the case in real life.

Some final touches on lore would be great but they seem somewhat item focused right now.

That said those items flavor techs sometimes probably reflect lore, so I'm sure they have a basic sketch already fleshed out and we'll get a full update when they have time to rewrite and touch it up a bit more.

Hopefully soon since they have a system for lore entry and and have to fill it with something.
