when will the final game be released?

title is self explanatory. just wondering when the full game will be released. will we have to buy the game again?

 

When it's done, and are you serious about the 'buying' again question? Do you realize that is a good way to kill your game asking everyone that already bought to game to buy it again.

 

You won't have to buy the game again if, obviously, you've already paid for it(which you probably have if you're playing the beta right now).

As for when, the best estimate I can think of is "When it is ready for an official release". Which will be once the three phase of the beta will hav passed.

Right now as it stands though, we're still only in phase one of three and possibly only still in it's early to mid days. Basically, the phase where you can play the game, make observations and then based on these observations you can make suggestions to the developpers.

So far chucklefish had listened a great deal to the community, and even officially added content from player-made mods into the game(this is for example: the skyrails, turrets and asteroid fields)

 

oh, ok. so we should expect a lot more character wipes before the game is finished?

 

It has been said by the developers that Character Wipes will be significantly reduced because they are changing the way they update the game.

My guess is that we will probably not have full wipes anymore. Last update had only ship/planet wipe, for example. Which allowed many people to save their essential items.

I would suggest you to simply not bother about this. Disable automatic update on steam and play the game as if no wipe would ever happen.

Then just check the forums constantly to see how the updates are going by.
