Yeah, like I said that would be a perfectly acceptable answer. Is it the right one? I am not qualified to answer that. Would it upset people if they saw Tiy post "We won't release the beta until we get all the atmosphere in the game because otherwise we wont have time to."? Absolutely.

People didn't care, basically the Devs are damned if they do and damned if they don't and the people who are unhappy will scream the loudest thinking it'll make some kind of difference.

I know, but it was (and still is) buggy. Just saying when you have bugs people will whine at you if it seems to are not focusing enough on fixing the bugs and rather on adding new content. Beacon was just a recent example and what that I could remember the comments about.

Also, I think it's easy to forget that sandbox games, in general, are buggy. Look at any Bethesda/GTA/Open World game out there. When you're building a game to be this open it's impossible to encounter every scenario and squash every bug. These games are always buggy when compared to a story-driven straight-forward game.

If they made that it's because they have time, I think they are doing that so when we all put our hands and our eyes in the game our first reaction would be something like: OMG it's so so so    epic!!!! and then repeat that when we do or discover all the little things in starbound, a game made with love like Tiy said once , that's what i expect

"Useless stuff"? Not very subtle attempt at being passive-aggressive now are you?

What do they teach kids in schools nowadays? Because many seem to be lacking one very important skill, which is patience.

Wasn't that in itself passive-aggressive? You have no idea how old he/she is. He has a right to voice his opinion, as do you. That being said I would agree the singing feature to be unnecessary IF it were being worked on during actual work days. I have no problem with them adding ANY features on the free project weekend days.

I'm curious how you came to the conclusion that 'kids nowadays' are the problem? Adults can be equally as impatient as children, especially when their hard-earned money is concerned.

Also, does his word choice physically pain you? Is that why you have to resort to insults?

They also don't want to spoil the game too much with the daily updates, so they like to talk about the inconsequential stuff.

Personally, I think the beta will come when the core mechanics/ui is at 100%, and the content stuff is at 90%.

100%, unlike minecraft which released when it was about ten textures and the ability to break and place blocks.

I don't think it will be quite 100% but it will not be as barebone as indev/infdev/alpha minecraft was. Comments like those keep reminding me of playing MC before beds, when you basically got told about where you should build a house and you had to find something to do all night. XP

I really don't know what percentage but at the least it would have to be 80-90% seems right as one other member pointed out 80% is generally followed with the text "Still needs some tweak" while 90% is more "Complete but still has a few bugs."

Depends on what state of the game we are talking about.

But the music aspect? Be realistic. Be VERY realistic for a minute here and answer me truthfully.

Do you really think people are going to do anything other than use that feature for 1 or 2 songs then forget it ever existed? If it was a weekend project they could have at least done something a tad more worthwhile. The most we are ever going to see out of that is some neat youtube videos. Nothing more. Most people play this game for adventure. Not for a stationary Mario Paint Music Maker.

But its their game. They want to put these features in I can't stop them. Still, to me it just seemed like a waste of time that could have been spent putting in something that people would use a bit more. Hell, even sleeping or, you know, enjoying their weekend off. Or something. I don't know what people do I just live under a rock and occasionally leave to make money to sustain myself with this "Food" thing people love so much while antagonizing poor poor developers with my constant unreasonable development-terrorism while fending off the masses of the righteous Chucklefish Paladins.

And I would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for your stupid guitars and your meddling flutes.

I dunno about you, but I spent days tooling with Mario Paint's music. If they add the music system into Starbound in a compelling way (eg. we can attach a song to an item that can be played from within our base), I suspect lots of people will get hours of entertainment from it. Some folks enjoy killing and advancing. Some exploring. Some really just want to build elaborate structures and pimp them out with furniture. Some like playing with music. This may not be a system that interests everyone, but it will see a lot of use regardless.

The completed percentage doesn't tell you truly how far they are from releasing. They could change or decide to wait or even release it sooner. No one knows, not even them!

Point invalid: Look at S.T.A.L.K.E.R., KOTOR2, and dozens of other games that WEREN'T "100%" when they were released
