1 - I'm a Glitch currently, like the idea of being a free'd robot flying through space! Other races still appeal to me and I'll be interested in their stories too
2 - I'll probably get myself sorted in the universe to start with, gear myself up with armour and weapons before settling down and making a base (probably with friends on our server)
3 - I'm very much treasure hunting at the minute, really like the vanity items so I've been hopping from planet to planet looking to try and complete sets!
4 - My friends and I have a server which we all play on, no greifers there!
5 - I've had the game less than a week and have clocked 40-50 hours so yeah a lot!
6 - I like my guns but when it comes to it using a spear/stave normally is where I end up.
7 - I want a main base which I will build myself, I used to be very into the architectural side of Minecraft building for the Shadow of Israphel set for the Yogscast a year or so ago so want to get big into that just waiting for this wipe before I start honestly.

 

1. Either Avian or Novakid, I just like the bird-guy style character, and so far, they seem to be the most fanatic (when you look at their temples), reminds me of the Tal'Darim. The Novakids, I don't know, ill see about it, but if I make a secondary character (to play with friends), it'll be a Novakid

2. Since I already went a part of the content already, Ill just plan on what I do after the final wipe. I will take it quickly, I want to get through the armor/weapon building asap, to then be able to settle on a planet forever, or at least farm on one.

3. If looking for all the techs is a treasure hunting, then I am a treasure hunter.

4. Seeing as there are a few millions of planets, with 0 to ~8 planets that are surrounded each by up to ~4 planets/moon/such, I guess a public server will not be of a problem for my friends and I, if I can get them to play the game, otherwise, I'll simply play in public server and wander the galaxy.

5. Seeing as I am in the beta, probably more than Skyrim, which means more than 350 hours, and I mean it to be MUCH more than that.

6. Seeing as I always loved Magic, I cannot say, for now, the most efficient fighting for me has been the melee two-handed fighting, but I might change to guns if I ever find some, the bow is definitely a no-go for me.

7. My main base will be my ship, it is small, but it is more than enough. Until there are way too many things to put in there. I might make an outpost, a main base, but still not main enough to be considered as my main base (Home, probably), in an unknown biome. I might decide for asteroid fields, or something more practical like jungle/forest.

I tend to stick to the Human race because it's the one I'm most familiar with. I have a Hylotl and Floran, but I don't use them near as much as the evolved monkey.

I never really have a plan for the game, which is one of the beauties of it. I tend to just fill up my spaceship with as much fuel as it can carry and just travel between sectors looking for interesting environments. Still waiting on Oceanic biomes.

I explore planets. There is no real 'hobby' of mine in the game, but I tend to look around for dungeons and villages to see what's in stock. I only mine when I need to.

Explore with friends, be a space pirate on a big server. No space combat yet, aw.

5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?
Not many to probably some.

Non-hostile creatures I do not attack, but I tend to weaken most hostiles with ranged attacks until they get up close. I dual-wield one handed swords.

7. Are you going to have one "Main" base, multiple smaller bases or just wander around? What biome do you think you'll enjoy the most?As stated earlier, I like to wander. My 'main' base is my ship, though occasionally I will build a small ramshackle facility to farm and hunt on the surface of a planet.

3. I like to sssssssssssstab defenceless animals, although all the ones on this planet are hostile
4. Not until I have AMAZING looking armor, so I can intimidate my lessers. Then I'll find big servers to awe others into serving me as their master.
5. All of them. All the hours I have till there are no more hours to ssssssssssstab.
6. Melee. Because bullets don't sssssssssssssstab.
7. I'll just make a cozy little house for when I'm not out ssssssssssstabbing or conquering helpless hylotls.

Human. I find most of the animal races kind of generic. The glitch are interesting, however.

Just... Immerse myself. Build houses, find stuff, murder things.

Mining is boring to me; I prefer exploring underground to mining in it. I like my mining to sort of take care of itself while I'm basically looking for interesting STUFF.

If Hamatchi ever gets working, yes, I have friends I would like to play with.

Too many.

Melee, although I switch to range where appropriate. I really like magic, but that doesn't seem like it's going to be a thing in this game.

Wander around; I plan to make a base of operations on planets I visit. Whether this is something I build or a pre-existing structure I declare as my own depends on what I find while I'm finding it.

I use whatever is necessary to get the job done. I try avoid fights i cant win but my motto for bases is divide and conquer

Probably one main base on a peaceful world so i can go and rest and not worry about anything

Space Explorer, my attention span isn't long enough to build or farm at the moment.

I'm a mixture of everything one minute i'll mine, the next I'll hunt for treasure and sometimes I'll build, depends what currently is running through my mind at the time.

I will definitely play with over people, it's more fun even if I'm not on the same planet as them just running into them is fun, though I would like for a local chat to be implemented so you can only talk to people on the same screen as you.

Considering I've already hit 97 hours of game play? not sure, it's a fun game something that will keep me playing for a long time, the only other game that has kept me this enticed is skyrim.

I switch my styles depending upon what the situation is, if I'm fighting mobs that are ranged i'll take a ranged weapon to the party, if they want to get in close well, hack and slash. I don't fight every monster I meet though probably will do eventually.

If we ever get to build a space station I will have one "Main" base, though at the moment I use my Space Ship for most things as it's the safest place around. At the moment I'm to much of a wanderer to really build anything permanent.

Hylotl--the idea of a pacifist amphibian running around strip-mining planets and slaughtering indigenous species by the truck-load is too delightfully absurd to pass up. Floran: They're dicks, and apparently they like to eat eyeballs.

No--I'm posting on a public forum because I have absolutely no interest in the communal aspect of games.

This game is large. It shall enslave multitudes of my time.

Whichever one gets the job done; I find poisoned blades work wonders so far.

I shall have bases upon bases, stacked high to the florid suns and pouring forth a salty deluge of retribution upon the Floran menace. Amen.

 

1) I play Human race.
2) I've tried to naturally progress through the game and figure things out. Just started "building" things.
3) I'm more of a treasure hunter. I've been collecting artifacts for my museum.
4) I'd love to play with some other people. I've mostly played Single Player to get used to the game.

2. My first time I just rushed through the danger levels but I think I might take it a little slower my next game.

6.I love the hunter bow but once you get in the X sector its pretty hard to use. In the first 4 levels I fought every creature. X Sector I almost skip every.
7. I've made one base so far, I haven't gone much in the building aspect.

 

1. Avian, straight up. I'm a gryphon furry, play to my interests, not to mention they're inherently made of cute. Plus the lore's pretty interesting so far.
2. Rush to the top tier just to see what it is, plonking down the bare essentials in my ship and travelling light. Building was my favorite part of Terraria, but here it can wait until after the uni-wipes. Too impermanent right now.
3. Explore, see what I can find for now. Once things get more stable, get on a MP server, whip out some bricks and spawners and furni and start 'showing off'.
4. Definitely MP, not sure of server size. The universe is big enough where clutter isn't a big deal the way I've seen on even mid-sized Minecraft servers so might go with something really active.
5. Hard to say. Anywhere between 50 and 400+, depending on how awesome the finished game is, and how long updated are churned out.
6. I don't fight the typical flora unless I have to (for resources, defense, etc.). Hostiles are another story, I show no mercy. Tend to be melee-happy ATM as ranged stuff isn't particularly easy to aim, but whatever the situation calls for.
7. Probably a few *tiny* bases as I explore, followed by one huge one once I have good tools and find a world I really like. As for biomes... forest or snow for building, desert for mining, anything peculiar, even moons for exploring. I don't think I'll have a specific 'fave'.

I'm playing as Glitch right now, as I found that exact pigtailed purple base that matches a rush-in type androidy-looking character I had while playing Spiral Knights. I do like Florans as well, Avians and Apex seem a little 'eh' right now.

I started off just dieing a lot, coordinating tier advancement with my friend. Gather resources, get OP, then punk the boss. We're ready for X-sector now.

I seem to have started to enjoy going all the way around a planet and then start mining straight down, and see where I end up, if there's any cool biomes to find. So far I haven't been dissappointed, found mushrooms and oculemons today
I love mining, and organising my inventory, actually.

I can just about set up a server for me and my boyfriend, heehee. He got me into the game, gives us something nice to teamwork on in this LDR.

I tend to murder everything in sight unless they're obviously non-hostile. Melee all the freakin' way, I don't have the patience or aiming skills for guns.

I'm not much of a builder, my stash on my spaceship does me fine right now. I'm kind of hoping to find a nice rainbow microbiome somewhere * v*

I'd most definitely say Avian as a main, but I'd love to play as every race (alt w**** here). Not sure why a few people heavily dislike Avians, but everyone's entitled to their own opinion.
Avian lore intrigues me the most, their way of thinking, the mystery behind Kluex, the cute comments you apparently get from NPCs about your plumage. Albiet, Glitch strikes my fancy as well, but I've never been a huge fan of robots.

I ain't no stranger ta danger, but I'm not going to rush. Without proper knowledge of the game's mechanics, monsters, biomes etc., how could you not be expected to die a few million times when bullrushing your way through dungeons and strange planets?
If farming is easier/more straightforward than it was in Terraria, I would most certainly get some crops going. ... I wonder if climates on different planets affect crops.

You may as well call me Sally. I mean Smaug. I'm a notorious Treasure Hunter among my friends in any game that permits that freedom, and will happily hoard/mine my way to riches, aesthetic or monetary.

I wouldn't mind finding a few lovelies on the forum to play with on a small-medium server, though the apparent optimization troubles with NVIDIA cards seems like it would cause a problem or two with my computer (mid-end, average home PC).

As many hours as my brain can handle.

While I probably won't fight everything I see, every style is probably going to be incoporated somehow. Maybe smashing enemies that get too close and shooting far away enemies. My unique logic is so flawless. /sarcasm

Most likely hop from planet to planet until I find somewhere I know I want to make a home in. Which can take weeks, I bet.
Biomes? Eh. Snow or Forest I suppose? I don't know all of the biomes yet.

First a Human, I'm more connected to my character if we are the same species lol . I like how their racial armor sets look as well and the look of their starship. I will also play as Glitch, Novakid and Apex at some point. Not really into the Florian and Avian races... but the Hylotl look interesting.

I will pretty much mine, build, explore and do quests at a even pace like usual. I like to take my time and feel everything out. I don't enjoy constant grinding in any one aspect of any game.

I like to do everything as stated above. I enjoy mining but will only do so when it is needed for crafting and upgrades so I don't get bored, I don't plan on hording ores and such. I also like treasure hunting and plan to do alot of it.

I've been playing single player for now. I'm currently trying to get some friends to purchase the game but they are reluctant due to it still being in beta and character wipes. I'll play online at some point on both big and small servers.

I have played for 40+ hours already and have only just arrived in beta-sector. I'm sure i'll log a few hundred hours into Starbound though.

I like both ranged and melee combat. I usually start ranged then melee when closing in. I enjoy the sniper rifles and two-handers alot... though a pistol and a shield is neat.

I'll have one big main base that I'll continually build apon as time goes on and incorporate several different themes throughout. I will also have several smaller bases or outposts on many planets. My starship will be mainly more cosmetic instead of functional.

First I have tested a Human, now I am plaxing as Floran - they looked so nice and I like their style, so natural.

I will not rush myself, explore here and there. Gaining experience and equipment, then walking forward.

Mining, finding treasures, old ruins, friendly (and not so friendly) places, build a nice place - I like it all!

Seeing that I have 60+ hours by now it will be many many more...

I will defend myself if I have too, but try to spare the peaceful creatures. I prefer melee combat.

I will have one main base on a nice planet, preferably without acid rain. On the other planets I have at least a small base near the beam point.

Some small bases on planets I like

Unless some sort of lizard race is added in the far future, outside of mods, I'm stuck on Floran. Technology thieves. Cannibals. Sstabs.
I don't really like the Apex, but I've never liked apes. I blame Star Fox--I hated Andross and his gods awful nephew, and that's exactly what the Apex remind me of. It's conflicting, because I like mad scientists.

I always rush so that I have the entire Universe at my disposal, not just one or two sectors.

I like treasure hunting, but then I start mining and can't stop. I collect ores, even though that's kind of a pointless endeavor. I just like seeing a high number of them in my inventory. Even if they just... Sit there...

I want to play with people, and I've joined a server, but I'm always too shy to go to the spawn planet or say anything. ヽ( ´¬`)ノ I'm trying to get over this by posting more in the forums. Otherwise, I like playing with my friend, but we can rarely find a method where our connections don't crap out or lag us to death.

I've played sixty hours, so far.

Melee; most of my energy goes into using techs, and I'm a horrible shot in sidescroller games. I run if there's too many, otherwise I kill anything hostile.

I always use my ship as my base. I love flesh biomes. Tentacle biomes are great, too, for their music.

 

I started off with the Glitch messed with a few others, but really enjoy the Glitch the most. For some reason I don't like Apex, and learning that Florans don't either made me like them a lot more.
2. First character played real slow, spend a bunch of time leaning game mechanics. I've never played Telerria or any game like this before, once I figured out how crafting works, I made a second character and then started playing online, but I find I die on the starter world on most public servers. .
3. I enjoy the expoloration aspect most, I do like mining, but exploring and seeing something different, exciting or unexpected is for me the biggest draw that Starbound has. The UI (User Interface) is clean and fairly easy to use one you get the hang of it, mining can be fun it depends.
4. I'll work with a community and help build something really cool, long term plans possible twich streaming.
5. Endless hours, this game has endless potential. Also could work as a powerful content generator/editor.
6. Range with a gun mostly, then a fast axe for close range.
7. An epic home on the space ship would be ideal for my character, as he's sorta like the Glitch Indiana Jones.

 

1. Human, Floran, and Glitch hold my interest most; however the Avian is a close second or fourth to this. I don't like the aqua one or apex... Mainly due to the way they look, and then reading a lil' on their background sways me even further away...
2. My first character was a Human. Didn't really go far, but did a lot of digging on my only planet I've been on with that. With my second, it is a Floran and stuck with that building small things as I explore space; keeping note of the coords of places that interest me or built on.
3. If #2 was not enough of a hint, i enjoy the building aspect of the game, but also like to see what is out there. I really don't like tearing up the facilities I find that were not hostile to me, but if the planet life does the job for me then I might just dig my supply up in blocks that interest me. On a side note I am a packrat of sorts, yet not overwhelmingly so as I tend to collect what I like.

6. What ever does the job or looks nice while doing so. I only kill what will pounce me in an attack. The passives/neutral ones, I just don't feel the need to, since they don't. More of Reaction than anything.
7. That is a toughy. I will probably have a home system that I will build my stuff in, then scatter things I build here and there. Example; tearing a portion of an Avian town down just for the blocks to build a small park, since the desert planet they were on didn't have a single tree... or I must have cut down the only tree on that small planet. I think I would like any planet that does not shower meteors to destroy what I build, maybe an exception being that rainbow shower I have seen on a planet that looks like falling fireworks streams; it also rained/stormed there. No acid or lava and i would be fine.
