1. I will be playing as Floran! I like there stab obsession and their design.

2.Im going to be taking my time. Plenty of farming and really explore every planet i go to.

3.Im a shiny hunter. I really enjoy seeing random things in caves and finding a big ore deposit! As well as upgrading my armor and weapons.

4.So far just playing alone. At some point i will play with other people though.

5.Prob about 10-20 a week.

6.I enjoy both types of combat. I will fight most but i wont go out of my way to fight them all.

7. I will prob build up a main base. But also have multiple smaller ones around the planets. I think ill enjoy the snow biomes.

Human. The only race I might avoid would be the Hylotl.

I agree with bigcnu64 above. Just going to take my time and really explore things. I create outposts on every planet I go to just as a marker.

I "displace" villages from one planet and move them to another, basically destroying them and rebuilding them somewhere else. I'm trying to build a gigantic capital planet.

At this point over 20 hours a week!

Melee all the way! (along with energy dash / pulse jump)

Instead of a main base, it's a main planet. Going to turn the entire planetary surface into one giant civilization.

All the races are appealing, actually. They're each great due to either aesthetics, an innate bonus, or something about their lore. However, I am least likely to play as the Apex due to Big Brother monkey people.
Currently I keep hopping between Human and Glitch, but that's because I have yet to try all the races. I think I will enjoy the Florians. There's always mods to add in races I might like, too.​

My first character ideally would delve enough into the planet's crust for ample supplies before hopping from planet to planet skimming the surface of each. By the time I explore a good chunk of the galaxy, I should have plenty of surface materials to construct decent equipment and armor to start properly delving. Maybe select one planet to completely hollow out .​

3. What do you like to do in the game? Is mining something that never gets boring to you? Are you a treasure hunter?

I like exploring. Mining is more of a thing of necessity, but I tend to create underground passages to avoid thunder and monsters. Treasure's nice, but vitals first.​

4. Are you going to play with other people? If so, with friends or on a big/small public server?

If I can, I will. Preferably with friends but I doubt that many of them will have the game. I'd prefer a small server, but big is good for wide-spread community. Plus, I can easily see a small server laying claim to entire chunks of solar systems while a big one might have a planet or two 'owned' by a single person.​

Too many.​

I favor ranged, but bows are not my cup of tea. Melee's good though. And no, just the ones that are aggressive. Unless I need meat.​

My main base will be my ship, but I might eventually claim a whole planet. hollow it out, and then build a Space Station from its remains. I am not sure which biome I'd enjoy the most.​

Yes, I enjoy when you have a common goal among other people. Playing alone just feels kinda pointless.

Glitch. The Hylotl armor set is seems useless, so I absolutely don't intend on making a Hylotl.

"Rush through to the highest danger levels" sounds about right.

-I like to upgrade my items in the most time efficient way possible (without cheating). This often means fighting bosses while being severely under geared.
-I can't stand mining - I try to minimize the amount of time spent on mining.

I'll go solo until I reach the final tier of items. Then I'll go play on random public servers.

I spent 121 hours on Terraria. If the game is as enjoyable, I'll probably spend the same amount of time.

I prefer using shields, as I feel blocking in this game is very powerful. Preferably with a pistol (ranged) so I can attack while blocking at the same time - but I'll use whatever I get my hands on. I'll fight enemies that are worth the time (i.e. have the potential to drop better weapons/many pixels).
7. Are you going to have one "Main" base, multiple smaller bases or just wander around? What biome do you think you'll enjoy the most?
For the most part of the game, I'll have one base:
-My first and "main" base will be on my ship.
-When I'm pretty much done with the game (achieved the final tier of items), I'll make a base on some threat level 10 planet. I don't really care about the biome of the planet - rather I care about the aliens on the planet. Planets with Avian pirate merchants take priority.

Glitch. Uncommon, interesting and thought provoking concept. Play only to see different reactions and see stuff they able to craft.

Personally don't think that many of Slow paced/Peaceful gamers are crazy enough to partake in testing of beta-version, keeping in mind character wipe alert from devs long before testing start.

Exploration. Of course it does, but resistance to boredom, and reward makes up for me. Speaking of which; Treasures? Yes, and many.

Yes. Frends.

Mixed, mostly depends on situation, primairly melee.

There is no base beside ship, only large warehouse for loot.

 

I run around grabbing ores and looking for buildings I like, tear them down and reassemble them somewhere else.

I spent 4 hours the first day completely deconstructing one of those huge USMC prisons, since it was like 2 steps to the left of my starting planet and, at first, I thought the prisoners inside would drop their guns if I killed them.

Clear all the bosses, if possible.

Find a suitable planet (like Earth with a moon) to settle down and build a town.

Private server maybe, mostly solo.

Endless before getting bored.

Dual wielding + ranged.

Don't want to travel a lot, keeping one main base is enough, any biome like earth is preferred, forest maybe.

Was going to play Apex because I am fascinated by monkeys, but they look too much human and too little monkey. I enjoy their lore though. So maybe once I mod them to walk on all fours, for now I decided to go with avians because they're just too darn cute. Hylotls are on the list too. Not appealing at all are humans. All these fantastic races and you're playing human? Booooring.

What I wanted to do is to slowly go through the progression in singleplayer, then settle down on some planet and build a farm with lots of pets. What I actually did was to rush through all bosses on the first day and with a few friends, and then go explore as many planets as I could.

I never mine actually. Just circle around the surface and move on to the next one. Exploring planets, collecting seeds and stealing stuff for my 3D printer I will only get bored of when updates and mods stop coming out. Another thing I love to do is messing with the modding. If I dislike how a certain mechanic works, I'll just edit it or disable it completely. And I got that fantastic sandbox ship mod installed.

We have a way too overpowered private server for around 10 friends. Now that we finished all bosses, we abuse cloning bugs, modded files and CE constantly. We do have alternative characters for legit pubs but we never use them, really.

5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?

100 so far, excluding modding time. God knows how much more it will be.

6. What combat style do you prefer? Melee, Ranged, etc. Will you fight every enemy you come across?

I snipe from a distance and use my melee when monsters come unexpectedly close. If I'm not looking for specific loot, I only fight what can keep up with me. Well, and this one time a human guard I spawned said to me "I hope you avians can follow human rules". Can you believe it? To his boss! I tried to remind him, the rest of the guards attacked, long story short, I don't have guards anymore and would prefer non talking turrets for base defense.

7. Are you going to have one "Main" base, multiple smaller bases or just wander around? What biome do you think you'll enjoy the most?

I prefer building my ship into a base. If I find a planet with a vibrant green soil and flower trees I'm building a base there anyways. Beautiful biome.

 

1. Informative. I will play a glitch. It is not only because they have a hard outer casing, but because they are such an misunderstood race. Expanding. I feel the glitch are simply just far more complex than we give them credit for, we take our own social structure for granted when they, have no choice but to believe what they are told. Humbled. I feel we all have something to learn from this race.

2. Grim. Explore, murder. Go. Hunt. Kill Skuls.

3.Half-hearted. Mining in every game is boring, Exploring new biomes is not. Enthusiastically. Star bound helps combine the two in one neat little package. Self-indulgent. However for me, It's more about finding new technology and recipes to quench my exquisite pallet of new culinary experiences.

4. Thoughtful. For me a smaller close to home network of trustworthy space explorers fit my scheme far better. Fuzzy. Love goes a long way.

5.Hazy. h-hour's.. What day is it?

6. Bloodlust. Like my best friend the floran says "Ssstab till it ssstops moving". Serious. I like to shoot things.

7.Homesick. Even as I type, I wonder how my crops are growing. If my small village is growing, how my citizens are doing. Oh.. Realistic. I want to found a world of my own. I have a small world in my universe that I'm slowly turning into a thriving city. I want to make a world of my own. Full of friends and otherwise helpful NPC's.

additionally. P.S. This is the first time I've attempted glitch-speak in public, scold me if it is silly.

 

1. I'll probably play all of them over time, but I like the floran and glitch design. I've also been avoiding avian a bit because of how popular they were/are, even though I like them a lot too.

2. Rushing a bit, mostly so I can go over all the content in an update. If i find something I really like I'll stop and take my time with it.

3. Exploring most likely. Mining for me is probably going to be a quick trip to gather the materials I need and look for underground structures, plus building up the fuel for the next jump.

4. I would like to do multiplayer at some point, probably looking a small server.

5. A bit each day, playing a lot when I have the time.

6. Ranged when I can, and fighting most of what I think I can handle.

7. Spaceship base, at least with my main crafting. All the biomes look neat.

6. I like to use a pistol and a 1-handed. I only attack what attacks me. Except I like to murder Apex sometimes..
7. I'm going to build one big "base". Essentially make buildings across my whole home planet. Started doing this before the first char wipe, decided to wait untill after beta to try again due to the amount of work lost. Also a spaceship base alongside that.

 

1. Avian at first for the feathery fun, then an Apex so I can make one heck of a dapper dude.

2. First character is always a rush for me, I powerlevel like mad most of the time so finding what works the quickest and best will be what this run is about.

3. I always like to be building towards something, whether it's the next tier weapon or just collecting enough loot to sate my Smaug-esque urges.

4. As soon as my first solo run is over and I get enough people to gift the remaining 3 keys to, I'll run a server for us 4 and we'll spread across the galaxies like wildfire together.
5. 100+ easily, this game looks amazing.
6. Ranged into melee just as the enemy is approaching. I'm always obsessed with trying to fight flawlessly, and as for every monster I come across, I only take on those who want me to. Nothing worse than killing an innocent creature you've never seen before, yeah?
7. I'll have my ship as my main base, and for this first run, that'll be it. Once I've got a server running, every planet I visit will be renovated and refurbished, so I'll try to save my creativity for those. As for a favored biome, I imagine a forest/jungle sort of thing will be my favorite, with lush greenery and plenty of interesting monsties wandering about.

 

Good daaaaaay!

1. I play floran, the idea that the flower-people are psychotic bastards is just wonderful! Also, they look awesome, and sound awesome, and cook weird stuff! They´re my kind of people.

2. Being in beta, I try and advance fairly quickly through the tiers to try and see all the new things, and if possible lend a hand to the development! As the game stabilises I will spend a lot of time making weird bases with stolen furniture and weird technology. (stolen)

3. I mine as little as possible, I have a terrible attention span, and surface veins are currently enough. What I love doing is exploring, raiding bases and stealing their shiny things and furniture.
There will be significant farming and cooking, but I´m having a hard time finding recipes. So yeah, lots of blood and furniture-theft.

4. I currently hunt alone, but as the game stabilises I will coerce friends into joining me, if they are insufficient I will join random games, communication is fun!

5. A few hours a day, there´s a -lot- of good games coming out!

6. I carry big, two-handed choppy things, or smashy things, equally good for liberating natives of their furniture and turning them into cooking ingredients. The natives. Not the furniture.

7. I currently make a hastily constructed base on every tier, once I reach the last one I will make THE TOWER!! Where I will keep my stolen tech, and other peoples furniture, and bits of other people, and delicious food!

 

1. Hylotl, though I would like to play as the Novakid once it is out. Erm, I don't really like Human as it is too mainstream :/ Normally, I don't play Human if there are other races avaliable.
2. Slowly explore this game. Mine stuff, craft stuff, stay alive Slowly build up my magnificent home
3. Build cool weapons and armor. Become stronger. Get cool and rare stuff!
4. Maybe would play with others after familiarizing with this game. Would rather play alone though, or with only my closest friends.

I tend to stick with human but this is more an aesthetic choice. I don't really want to be a fish-or-bird-person, but if there were catpeople, i'd probably do that I like the look of the Florans so will probably do one of those as well at some point.

I seem to be spending an inordinate amount of time bashing things with a pickaxe and building a deeper and ever more elaborate 'hanging gardens' base full of crops. Explore planets to find previously unknown flora and fauna to add to it.

When I go to a new planet, I like to drill straight down until I reach something that takes too long to drill, then I'll branch off to the left or right picking up shinies as I go, slowly working my way along a horizontal that meanders and winds its way back 'up'. By the time I get there I'll have an inventory full anyway

I'd love to be able to play on LAN w/ my husband having our 'own' world(s) but I'm not sure how this is setup.

Many. Its already consumed an entire weekend and I think this was just scratching the surface.

I like the ranged combat, but not the energy depletion. I'd rather have to craft ammo. I finally got good at aiming the silly bow, then I upgraded to steel hunting bow and I'm constantly out of energy. Doesn't help that tech uses the same pool =/ Because of this I usually find a melee weapon that has some sort of ranged proc

My first planet (desert) I excitedly dug out and decorated a beautiful base that I filled with stuff.
Then I went to the next planet in the same system and said right, I don't need to do another base here I'll just go back to my other one.
Of course once I moved to beta sector, I had the laborious and fuel heavy task of MOVING all my crap.
I finally just decided I'd live in my ship, which is great, and I'd love the ability to 'expand' the ship to accomodate this.
I quite like the moon biome, its pretty, but cold.

 

I play Apex myself, there lore,tech, and even choice of food are awesome. They look super cool too!

3. I have a LOVE flying around the universe and exploring the expansive structures. Other then that I really enjoy treasure hunting allot!

7. I live in the structures I find around the worlds of the ever expansive space! I hang out on my ship when im not in a structure.

 

1. I like all the races.... but personally it is the racial armours that appeal to me and is the deciding factor as to what race I will play. Currently, I playing as an Avian and I'm liking it.

2. I tried the peaceful farmer route when I just started. But all my friends quickly moved on to other planets and sectors. That forced me to quickly want to join them and rush to get the crafting components I need.

3. Mining gets boring especially when the pickaxes that cost a lot to upgrade, do not mine significantly faster at all. This made me focus more on exploring the surface for resources rather then digging into the depths. I also prefer to mine on desert planets as resources located in dirt/sand are easier to reach. Mining gets better once I get my hands on a drill.

4. I play with my friends usually on a private server hosted by one of my them. If the game gets released, I would probably play on a small public server but larger servers are okay for me as well.

5. I'm guessing I would spend many hours in this game as it is pretty addictive once you start playing. You wouldn't want to quite especially when you are halfway exploring a cave/dungeon.

6. I prefer melee right now only because they deal better damage. I have yet to find a substitute for my bow which does measly damage in my sector (delta/gamma)

7. I've build bases, big and small. I would love to have one big base that I can call my home planet as well as a few smaller outposts in the galaxy. I like biomes that are easy to dig, and good living conditions. So...snow/arid biomes are not preferred.

 

I usually load up on coal/uranium and click find random planet and do a quick loot sweep until i find good loot.

 

Flower power all day, death to all including friendlys, I walk around random planets harvesting all it has to offer refine for gold vox that stuff and kill anything that moves.
