1. First character was Avian, current character is Human. I do like all the races and will probably play as Glitch or Florian when the next wipe comes.

2. Explore the planet as much as possible, move on once I've seen everything or get bored of that planet.

3. Mining can be fun but it's also tedious. I prefer to explore and find dungeons to loot instead.

4. Haven't touched multiplayer yet.

5. I spent about 300+ hours in Terraria, I expect to do the same in this game.

6. Melee with ranged for backup. Only attack hostiles unless it's a place I want to loot.

7. I wander from planet to planet in search of stuff to raid, my ship is my home. Half of the fun of this game is hopping from planet to planet. I will eventually find a planet to use as a main base though.

I chose Apex as my first character as I instantly thought of one of my favorite films, the original "Planet of the Apes", when I saw it. I will go through the other races in due time, but, right now, I love using my Apex character.
2. What are your plans for your first character? Rush through to the highest danger levels? Be a peaceful farmer?
I'll do a little bit of everything. I won't rush through the highest danger because I'd like to play without dying once (so far, so good). I do enjoy the farming aspect of the game, but I'm not above going on a rampage to collect pixels, meat and leather.
3. What do you like to do in the game? Is mining something that never gets boring to you? Are you a treasure hunter?
I like to farm, but, in addition to that, I like to collect items and scan them into my 3D printer. I may not actually use it to print off items, but I like to register them as my own list of collectibles.

I will but with friends.
5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?
Waaaaaaaaaay more than I should.
6. What combat style do you prefer? Melee, Ranged, etc. Will you fight every enemy you come across?
Melee is my preferred style although I haven't gone very far yet in trying out other weapons. I'll fight every enemy I come across unless I'm low on health.
7. Are you going to have one "Main" base, multiple smaller bases or just wander around? What biome do you think you'll enjoy the most?
Right now, I'm focusing on the main base, but I'll most likely expand my operations on other planets too. So far, I've only explored forest and desert worlds, and I do enjoy the desert worlds.

 

1- Race: I put them in tiers; Florans and Hyolotls first; Humans, Avians, Glitch and Nova second; and Apex dead last. Don't get me wrong- they're cool, and the concept behind them and culture is solid, but they're still simians
2- Plans: Find a decent set of clothing. Hunt for cool items. Eventually, very late on, build a base. Wish I could build a starship!
3- Hobbies: Treasure hunting, all the way. Becoming a formidable combatant is nice, too, though I don't know how to turn that into 'bounty hunter' without quests...
4- Friends: Yep. Small servers.
5- Hours: I've hit up over a hundred. So, many.
6- Combat: Switching weapons on the fly as suits my circumstance. I like crowd control and explosions!
7- Base?: Eventually. It's currently my starship.

 

1. Avians have a great design and i love the story for the playable Avians. I think the humans are my least favourite, since, well, they're humans.
2. Take it slow and steady, not advancing too quickly, and reaping the rewards.
3. I love scanning the surface of the planets, looking for outposts, dungeons, villages.
4. I'd rather just play with a friend or two, i can't stand griefing.
5. I've already clocked 85 hours.
6. I tend to mix it up, pick off enemies from afar with the bow, but if I'm in a rush, just take them on directly.
7. I love the idea of just wandering the galaxy, reaping just enough materials to get you just a bit closer to your ultimate destination.

At the moment I plan on playing an apex, at the next wipe I'll probably roll a human2. What are your plans for your first character? Rush through to the highest danger levels? Be a peaceful farmer?
I plan to go at a normal, steady speed not overlooking anything

Personally I prefer melee, guns and bows just seem a bit weaker to me. Bombs are also a favorite. I'll only fight hostiles, wouldn't want to be wrecked by every mob on the planet

I'll go around ravaging planets for resources and I'll find a good high threat planet to settle down on

 

1. I always play as a human. Even in other games I always choose the human. I'm normally not really into monsters or elves or dwarves or other species, etc.
2. With Starbound I tried to make tools ASAP since the default thing kind of sucked at mining things! I always tried to get the best ore on the planet and a lot of it. Then onto the next planet. But I also have a large farm on my home planet.
3. I normally explore the surface first, looking for buildings or cities, then if I need more ore I mine. I could mine everyday and not get bored very much of it.
4. I only play with my brother, don't have any other friends who play this!
5. I've already put in 60 or so, a lot of it was me trying to MOD a spaceship though. That took about 15 hours to make my own ship, but it's awesome!
6. I always use a two handed fast sword. The one handed swords don't have a good reach and you can get hit easier. Guns are fun too.
7.With my new Modded Ship, I have that as my home. It has my every need. The biome I enjoy the most is the Jungle. You can get things to make bandages very easily! But I love going on level 10 planets and mining ore, there is so much of it!

Going Human first character just because its easier to get to grips with a new game when you know what to expect from you character

definatly take my time farm mine explore as much as possible why rush thats what real life is for

mine explore find treasure craft (you know go all indiana jones)

not yet but will possibly try to hook up with other players at some point in the future

dont know if you mean per day i am currently 2-4 ish will prob end up being about 10 a week

at the moment melee is working best for me but i have just moved to iron bow so that might change if i get better weapons for ranged later on

def going to have a main "HOME" planet then have smaller bases (more basic) as i expand sort of like staging posts where i can store supplies
not sure which biome i will prefer like the forest worlds (give me wood ) but i am still early in game that might change

 

1. Avian. c: My icon gives it away! As for the races; They all are really good an fantastic. I love them all, really.

2. Admittedly, I'd love to get an RP server running and build various cities on planets for people to wander through and hang out in. To me, that's something I'd enjoy doing. So I expect much of my time will be populating a world and creating areas for my players to venture into and visit.

3. I absolutely LOVE building things. I currently have a small town in the beta and I've been learning a lot from the experience. RPing, as well. And I do love finding little places here and there.

4. Definitely. I would love to run and host a large RP server for people to play on.

5. Toooo many. So long as it doesn't interfere with my Falconry and work schedules. c:

1. Human, I just like to pretend im in the game. Although with no racial perks it doesn't matter who you really pic
2. Just go around the universe to find the perfect home and make a whole planet my city where my collection from all around universe it. Both Adventurer and Collector
3. The freesome and the free range of exporation. I like working for my art so mining no big deal.
4. I don't know much about servers but it would be cool it there was a generic on that could hold alot of people.
5. Busy being an adult right now to maybe 10-15hr a week with 3-5hr play sessions.
6. I like a combination of Melee and Magic. Im hoping that they will make some weapons of items that work more like sci-fi magic.

Human, because it's the race I usually pick them. I might go for Glitch and Novakid later.

Definitely, probably just with my friends.

A whole lot now with Winter Break coming up.

I'm gonna try a mix of range and melee, so I can try a bit of everything out.

I'm probably gonna have one main base and smaller bases for planets that I like. I think I'll like the ocean biomes when they're implemented.

 

1. Glitch, because their hit sound isn't as horrid as Avian's. I got jumpscared by my own avian getting hurt more than a few times. .-.
2. I like to go ore hunting first, to get my first few sets of beginner stuff. Then I go for the hard stuff.
3. I like to kill things with my rocket launchers and grenades
4. I wish I could, but I am sandvichman and have no friends to play with.
5. Way too much for my health.
6. I love having a shield and grenade launcher, and a backup hammer just in case I get stuck in a tiny room.
7. I'll probably never make a base, since I planet-hop too much. I'm only waiting for ship upgrades now.

2. I was thinking of building an empire, enslaving all that oppose me.
3. I'm more of a builder but i'll explore for nice places to build.

6. Ranged. Its best to pick of enemies from a distance where they cant get you.
7. Yes, ill eventually build a main base, or what i'll call a planet city. I'll turn an entire planet into a city.

Glitch, because the robotic-ness fits the whole parasitic playstyle I'm going for off the bat.

I'll land on one planet, exploit its resources and people as much as possible, and then move on to the next one.

A group of online friends of mine is planning on hosting a server. I'll probably look for a smallish public one as well.

Proceed at a leisurely pace whilst I make a cozy little village on my home planet. There's no rush, i like to relax and have fun.

I like finding cities and talking to everyone and stealing their shit for my village. i wish i could move them there but alas that's not in game... yet... maybe someday.

Yup! I already play on a private server with my buddies.

Well i'm disabled so i'll probably live in the game when i'm not eating, sleeping, or out for a nice walk.

Melee, Beat the crap outta something with the fastest weapon you have before they maim you. Guns are nice but too energy draining for the damage you get so far. If Novakids have ranged weapons with good damage i might change my mind. As for the enemies i tend to approach one and then kill it if it tries to hut me and unless i need food i leave the docile ones be.

Main base on my home planet. I enjoy forest planets and jungle planets. As for mini biomes i like the eyeball and crystal ones.

 

1:Apex. I would have played my race idea, "Mushmen", but that dream's snagged by the fact that they don't exist in-game.
2:Murder all the Florans next to my base, and ransack their houses.
3. Build, Mine, Attack Florans, Ransack their stuff.
4: probably. It depends on whether or not characters on SB work the same way as Terraria, in that i can move my character's crap between my singleplayer world, and the server.
5:Rather religiously.
6: Melee, revert to gun if it works well, and i can find one.
7:I think i'll have one central area for storage and advanced crafting, a minibase on my ship, and outposts on planets that require it.

 

1. I like to play as a Female Floran or as a Male Human. I prefer to stick to some amount of realism in a crazy world, so I will make my main character Human. I just generally like the Floran race more than others. I don't care for Apex too much.
2. What I decided to do first was to play safely(which is what I do with every game like this) my playstyle is to basically get an overabundance of what I need before I go on to the next sector.
3. I like to balance what I do. I'll spend an hour mining, then another hour exploring a new world. Maybe I'll settle down on a planet and do some building. It depends on my mood.
4. I enjoy playing with a large group of people and I chipped into getting a 4-pack with all of my friends. I've mostly played singleplayer though.
5. I've already spent 56 and counting! I expect to exceed my Terraria count, at least.
6. I like to mix up melee/ranged, especially for this game. I will kill everything, but I know when to avoid hostility.

Glitch. Because, robots. That's why. I also love the Hylotl, because of their aesthetics and their ship design.

Not too sure yet, even now, a few weeks in. Think I'm just gonna try to gather up as much stuff as possible on the newbie planets.

I am an explorer. Don't mind what I'm doing, as long as I'm finding new things.

Eventually I'll play with other people and friends. But at the moment, I'm mostly just playing single player.

Too many. Haha. I always get far too engrossed in sandbox games and put in as many hours as my schedule/girlfriend will allow.

Depends on the situation. I am a Master Of Arms and will use the tool that is best suited to the job. Strong Lightning breath hindering my swordsmanship? Ranged. Quick foes that evade well? Close Combat.

Eventually, once I settle down in one specific galaxy, I will have several bases that span across several planets. But for now, just my ship and one or two on the surface.

 

1. I'll be playing a Human as my main, but my other character (for when I want to mod or use SinglePlayer) will be a Novakid.
2. My plan is as it always has been- Rush through with the help of my trusty companions, get whatever you can get to murder.
3. I'll probably be that tank that just rushes through crowds of bandits and guards while murdering them all.

5. I'll play at least 42 hours of the Beta, and I'll probably never give up Gamma.
6. I'll be using Ranged for my main means of attack, but I will have backup melee to attack everything in my path.
7. I'll probably end up living in my ship due to it being easy to move.

 

1- I generally like to look and admire the planet I am on.. unless you're me and land on a planet where flesh fibers grow, then well..
2- Quickly I go for the nearest tree and cobblestone and fashion up some nice tools to make life a little easier
3- I will usually go to the left, general preference, and keep going until I find the planet's special area such as a temple and such
4- Raid and steal everything valuable
5- Try to mine as far underground as I can (I once found an amazing legendary item by digging down deep into a planet)
