1. What race are you going to play, and why? Do any of the races just not appeal to you at all?
I will no doubt make my way through all the races but I am starting out as apex. I think the race that appeals to me the least is floran, which is not to say they don't appeal to me they just don't appeal as much as the other races.

2. What are your plans for your first character? Rush through to the highest danger levels? Be a peaceful farmer?
For beta I am probably going to rush through things to try and see as much as I can. Have to try and give feedback, you know! But once the game launches or the beta reaches a point where we no longer have to worry about character deletion/incompatibility I will take it slower and stop at times to build cool structures.

3. What do you like to do in the game? Is mining something that never gets boring to you? Are you a treasure hunter?
If my time with games like Minecraft and Terraria are any indication then I never tire of digging and exploring. Or building. Fighting will grate on my nerves if I was trying to do something else though.

4. Are you going to play with other people? If so, with friends or on a big/small public server?
I am trying to talk some of my friends into getting the game and would like to play with them. I might connect with people through forums and play with them but I have no interest in being a part of a huge server.

5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?
Hours? I think measuring how much I play in hours will go out of style after a week or two.

6. What combat style do you prefer? Melee, Ranged, etc. Will you fight every enemy you come across?
Ranged, forever and always. I shall rain doom down upon all critters that cross my path.

7. Are you going to have one "Main" base, multiple smaller bases or just wander around? What biome do you think you'll enjoy the most?
I want one huge base at the center of my game. Preferably on that eyeball forest planet, if possible.

 

Ill go with human or glitch
and if i do not have a test or homework to do then probably 7~6 hours a day and on the weekends... like 12 hours xd

 

1. My race will be a Glitch. I like the Medieval feel of the Glitch.
2. My plans will to build a castle and slowly expand from there.
3. I will hunt mobs and mine for metal.
4. Once I'm bored of singleplayer I will join a large public server.
5. At least about 20-25 hours a week.
6. I will be mostly melee with a small sidearm for ranged purposes. Any enemy I come across I know I can take on I will kill.
7. My plan will be to have a large castle as a main base then expand with smaller villages across multiple planets.

I am going to play as a human, simply because I like the starter ship design better.

Slowly collect resources and acquire the stuff I need to build a proper supervillan lair near a NPC settlement, which will then feel my wrath.

I like to build, but exploring the various dungeons the game seems to be offering will probably be a good pass-time.

I will probably find a big server to play on once they start to get off the ground.

Way too many.

Ranged, and I will probably try to avoid anything out of my league. (So I wont be rushing to fight a level 32 murderosaurus with a -7 Popsicle Stick of Desperation.

I will have a main base, though I will probably end up abandoning it with while taking most of the valuable things when I get too high leveled for the area or I accidentally destroy the place I was terrorizing beyond recovery.

 

1. Floran. Just appeals to me, them being plants yet carnivorous.
2. Explore. Enjoy. Hunt. Generally take my time. Its about the journey.. as it should be, not the destination.
3. I will explore the most, and build.
4. I hope that is what i will do exclusively. I personally believe this game was meant to be played at least with one other person.

7. I'll probably enjoy the snow and jungle biomes the most. As for bases... ill probably have some kind of main base for each planet i get on.

1. Humans, I just tend towards humans.

2. I don't know. Probably just take it as it comes.

3. Treasure hunting and exploring. I also intend to do quite a bit of item creating and maybe even modding. We'll see, though.

I will play all race's but i will start with glitch, because i like robots

because it will be beta i'm going for the consume and adapt , assimilate and evolve styl trying to become as powerfull as possible.

i will adapt my styl to what if the most effective in the situation i'm in.

i will build a main base, and outposts on explored planets. no idea yet what i will find most intriging .

All of them eventually, but I believe I'll start with the Hylotl because I like fish-people.

I think I'll take my time and explore my surroundings. Get used to things before I go running off into the beyond.

Treasure hunting to the end and maybe a little B & E along the way. After all, other peoples things are just treasures waiting to be liberated for the greater good.

I'll do a solo game for bit and then I might join a large public server just to see how my fellow star travellers go about playing.

Many, many hours.

I'm a melee fighter at heart. Nothing like mixing it up and getting right into the middle of things to make life more exciting.

I'll have a main base with several smaller ones dotted around to make for easier exploration. Or if I need to dodge the authorities after an unfortunate incident on another world...

Look, It wasn't my fault that Avian blacksmith stood too close to my sword swinging and that bag of pixels he 'gave' me was a gift for being such a good customer. Honest...

as for what Biome I'll enjoy most, I like snow biomes and creepy looking ones.

Well, you can probably guess my favourite if you look to the left. I just like the idea of playing as a humanoid plant. I don't really like humans because... well they are just humans, right?

I'll just take things as they come, no rushing. I will be exploring as much as possible and if I find myself in a need of a new gear, I'll obtain it and then move on to explore even more

Mining is never boring, as long as it is profitable! You know, valuable ore, shining gold and chests: everything that I can find underground appeals to me greatly. I think nobody likes the mining itself, we all like the rewards that come with it.

4. Are you going to play with other people? If so, with friends or on a big/small public server?
I rarely enjoy playing with strangers so public servers are a no-no for me. I enjoy playing with a small group of friends, because it's always more entertaining. But I always prefer to spend my first couple of hours with games like this all by myself. Only then I will be able to enjoy it to the fullest.

5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?
It really depends on what the game has to offer. I will play as long as there is land to explore, chests to find and weapons to craft. So, as long as the game showers me with new content, I won't stop playing!
(By the way- I have spent over 230hours playing Disgaea 4 and thereare stil ltgings I have to do. One would think that after 230 hours of playing the same game a person would just give up. But they would be wrong)

I am not a loose cannon, like some people I know and I won't slaughter every peaceful creature I come across. If it will give me trouble, I will leave it alone. The only reason would be self-defense or some kind of reward. Why would I kill innocent villagers and animals? I would just make the world more... empty.
As for the weapons, I always was a mage-type character. I don't know if there will be any spells in Starbound but I always say, that if you can't burn it, cut it in half. I find no enjoyment in killing enemies from a distance without any harm. It's not exciting at all!

I don't like excessive building. I never played with LEGO when I was a kid so maybe that is why...
I will probably build small but funcional shelters in every world, near the start point for an easy access. That way i will be able to store my loot, cook some food and craft my gear. Nothing fabulous, just a small fort that I can hide in from the outside world and equip myself for future adventures.



TL;DR
I will explore, kill dragons, hunt for treasures, vanquish evil and mine for ore I can make myself new gear from- as long as there are things to be done.

Also, to all Avians- I'm not a cannibal.

  -The ape race looks pretty cool. I think I'm going to go with that. The plant people and the crazy-looking aliens aren't really my peference.

  -Take it slow, survive, learn the game, enjoy it.

  -I think I'll enjoy mining. If I see something shiny, I must have it~

  -Probably, but not right away.

  I like melee. Possibly.

  -A main base, with smaller outposts scattered around. If there is an ocean biome, that will be my favorite.

2. I shall likely build and pretty everything up and also go finding materials and peacful farming.

4. I will play with my small clan on a small server. I will probably do a ton of singleplayer also.
5. Based on my Terraria playtime. And how much more fun this looks to be after 6-12 months probably like 200 hours...

human mostly because I feel it will be easier to role play as a race we know so well, although in time I will consider trying the other races.

Probly take it slow, get my bearings and learn the game one step at a time. my main goal will be to set up a small base to gather the fuel needed to visit other planets before I make a choice of what I will do.

Well besides farming and building things. I prefer to help others get on their feet so we can all work together with a similar goal in mind.

I intend to play with others. I can be a loner if needed but I prefer the interaction and socializing with other players.

I intend to put in a good amount of play time to find bugs and enjoy the game. perhaps at least a 100?

Ranged. If I can help it I won't fight everything unless they present a threat or if it's to survive in case I"m starving and such.

For starters I will build a small base to get on my feet and once I find a planet I really like I'll construct a main base that will serve to help and protect others still beginning. I have no knowledge of the biomes so it will be a surprise to me.

Base? First planet I land on I'm going to terraform and industrialise the whole thing!

- I love the Novakid because they look the most like a lone cowboy, roaming through the universe.

- I am definitely going to play as a Cowboy/Pirate. I like to play alone (as well as with friends) and just wander about. I like to play as a CN (Chaotic Neutral) and basically do whatever that i gain something positive from.

- I am a treasure hunter and i will go to wherever there is profit to gain.

- I don't like to ally with total strangers until i have come to know them but i like to play with friends or a clan on big public servers.

- In my spare time I have lots of other things i have to do but i want to play as much as possible, ranging from 2-6 hours a day.

- I am more of a ranged type of guy and i am quite fond of revolvers/handguns. I will not fight every enemy i come across but since i am CN i will fight whatever is threatening me or that i would gain something from; be it xp or treasure.

- I am not going to have a big Main base because i am more of a lonesome traveller and i will make shelter when i need it or set up a trading outpost or something.

I am probably going to play as a Human first, because I want to relate to my character, both through looks and experiences. It's all about the immersion and minor role play. (I might do some minor role play, but I will most often be having fun raiding dungeons and exploring)

I'm probably going to go explore the lands, at a nice steady pace. Not too fast, or slow either. I will strive to defeat the faces of evil, and save all that is good. I will try to avoid battles if I don't feel like killing life, but if violence is inevitable, then I will do what I must to survive.

I'm more of a treasure hunter and explorer, always trying to discover something new in the big, big universe.

I will play with other people, of course! I will probably play on a medium sized public server.(With low ping, of course)

I will try to play this every time I have a chance to! If I were to guess, probably around 8+ hours a day.

I prefer melee fighting, it's always been my style. If they have dual blades, I will totally take up that opportunity!

I'm more of the wanderer type. I tend to just go with the flow, and go where the wind takes me. I'm not sure about which biomes I will enjoy, but I look forward to seeing and exploring all the types of biomes!

Nothing really gets boring to me just depends on the mood of me.... but I like to destroy.... monsters..... possible NPC homes.

I will play with friends if they get it but that about it.

Lots 40+ up to maybe 200+

I like Melee more but don't mind Ranged.

I will only settle down on my most favorite planet till I find a better one.

I will likely play as a Hylotl or Novakid depending what my friends choose to play as. The Novakid look the coolest to me and the Hylotl have the most extreme differences in styles than the rest.

I'm going to be exploring as much of the game as I can. I will try and make the game last as long as I can while still having fun.

I love exploring, caving is one of favorite things to do, I will also be exploring as many planets as I can.

I will be playing with friends and family, probably with 2 different characters. These will be on small local servers of no more than 6 people.

Probably going to spend all my free time playing.

Ranged will be my preferred combat method but I will use a combination depending on the enemy.
