Prolly a bit of rping as well as advancement

I prefer to build and explore.

Imma try and make a rp server if the games really good and i think worth it. If not i'll prolly join anothers rp server provided anyone wants to make one.
5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?
i spent prolly at least a few thousand on terraria when i had a cracked version and now that i got it legally i got around 100 or so. So im assuming depending on other games and dark souls 2 prolyl close to around the same.
6. What combat style do you prefer? Melee, Ranged, etc. Will you fight every enemy you come across?
Gonna try it all
7. Are you going to have one "Main" base, multiple smaller bases or just wander around? What biome do you think you'll enjoy the most?
Ice biome and prolly a super base and smaller forts.

-I'm probably going to try out each one. But i got a soft spot for the humans, the apex, the avian and the glitch.

-Discover the game, and then i'll probably try out a bit everything

Mining is a bit boring indeed, but that won't stop me. And hunting treasure can be fun.

Maybe. In a small public server.

Ranged is pretty cool imo. But melee is fun too... GAH, can't choose . Nah, i don't want to die 'cause i attacked something too strong for me.

7. Are you going to have one "Main" base, multiple smaller bases or just wander around? What biome do you think you'll enjoy the most?
A main base with smaller sub-bases. Well didn't told us much about biomes so...

 

1. Novakid or Glitch. The other races look cool and interesting too. But medieval robots and Energy cowboys..... yeah.. thats me...
2. As with all characters, my goals change based on what I find while exploring!
3. Definitely need to amass loot and gadgetry! Also like to establish an interesting an dynamic homebase.
4. Always multiplayer Things are just that much more exciting when diplomacy come into play.
5. Hours? whatever I can manage between other projects/life
6. My combay preferences change with the weapons I find. If I find a good weapon, I'm gonna use it no matter how unwieldy.
7. I'm a nomad at heart I think. But I definitely like having a spot to put my roots down.

1. My first character would be a Hylotl. I like the little guys. Probably shouldn't have called him little.
2. First of all, explore the universe, but hey, maybe I see something that makes me lose faith in sentient life and become a space pirate.
3. I hunt treasure a bit, sure, but I like to live a life of crime. Why work an honest life when you could do the very opposite?
4. I'd mostly play with my friends, but I wouldn't stray away from public servers. Start a space pirate crew with some buddies, cause fear across the server. That's the good thing about big servers.
5. However many hours I currently want to use. I don't keep a gaming schedule.
6. I always liked the dual pistol theme, it just seems cool. It's the future, why wouldn't you use guns?
7. My only home is my ship. It's the one thing that I can always trust. Sure, small camps would be set up, but not all that beautiful of camps.

 

1. Human, possibly a novakid at a later point.

2. Explore and hunt anything hostile. Start low and go big once I feel confident enough

3. Finding new things, items and equipment is always exciting. New enemies to learn about and then overcome.

4. Hopefully playing with a group of my friends at some point, and joining large public servers at some point to see how it'll work out.

5. Depends on how the randomization works out. That's the kind of thing that keeps some games fresh, but it's hard to do right.

6. Melee, but I'll fight at range as the situation demands it.

7. The ship is all I need. Having familiar territory to retread is always a comfort though. Snowy biomes look neat.

 

1. Apex, because of their uniforms. Maybe Novakid too but I must see their ships and cities first.

2. Live a life of trouble and adventures, be someone like Han Solo or Malcolm Reynolds. Especialy a former soldier Apex sounds good for me.

3. Exploring, gathering data, survival and taking quests for money.

4. I'm probably going to play in a group of friends on a private server. I'm not a fan of joining big societys when i can be an outcast wandering with some old friends through the universe. However I don't say I'd never try playing on a big server.

5. A LONG hours! Untill the game is under development there always is going to be something new in a quite near future. After it's finished the generation should keep it fun for me for a long time.

6. I'd try to fight with a rifle or pistol, from any range. I may sometimes sneak around the powerfull enemy.

7. The ship is going to stay in my heart very deep, I always wanted to have a trustworthy, old, flying piece of junk that will never fail me (like Millenium Falcon and Serenity). I like the idea of having some old, abandoned for the most time, base to keep things that don't fit on my ship though. When it comes to biome, I always loved the icy wastelands covered in snow, however the lava wasteland covered in ash looks cool too.

Hylotl, mainly because of the theme. I never really thought of going Avian...

I will slowly progress through the stages while building a bustling city filled to the brim with NPCs. Of course, I will likely lose the character.

I am a person of building.

I have a friend who play Starbound. I will likely join him in his journey, but I am leaving other decisions to him.

5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?

I blew 248 hours on Terraria. With Starbound, that number will be multiplied, I am almost certain...

I like them equally, although I am afraid I will use melee more, especially if I stumble upon a laser katana. I will only fight hostile enemies. Although I might blow a passive's head off in desperation, or crossfire.

Unless my starting planet is a snow planet, I'll build a small base there and relocate to a threat level 1 snow planet. If I will have nothing to do, perhaps I will build some smaller bases somewhere. I will love snow biomes, if that wasn't obvious enough.

 

1. Hylotl. I simply love the sea, aquatic creatures and environments. Also as seen in One Piece, fishmen can tear anything apart.
2. Choice? I'll do everything! from farming to combat to engineering, I'll do everything possible.

6. Depends on the situation, if I need to survive I do it from a distance with a ranged weapon, otherwise a polearm or a big axe.
7. One main base, many smaller bases. I think in an oceanic planet, or maybe a snow biome.

Can somebody gibe some statistics about this thread? Too lazy doing it by myself.

 

1) Hylotl will be my character race, it was between that race and Floran, but I decided to go with Hylotl. Why, I've always loved Sharks, since I was a young kid and these are the ones that got fins *lol* Yet I like their appearance and they seem most interesting out of the 6 races.
2) Hmm.. My plans for my first character will most likely be to explore, mainly.. But I guess I will do alot of building, trying to survive and be creative about my way around the planets.
Also I will definately be playing hardcore mode if that exists, wich I am really hoping for (one life, and dead!)
3) As an oldschool Sandbox player (Coming from Ultima games) Im looking forward to probably every aspect of the game, and hopefully some new sandbox experiences!
But I guess that I will start out mining / harvesting to get some kind of a stockpile of materials. After that I'll definately get into crafting.
4) I will play with my best friend of mine, we preordered the game together and waiting patiently (well not really) for the game
5) Hmm.. How many hours, if the game gets me hooked I could easily become addicted and pretty much rack up 8-10 hours a day easily at first, when I've played it for a while I might go back to around 4 hours a day, could be more though if content keeps me interested!
6) The combat style I am preferring is definately going to be melee since I've been a tank / warrior in most of the games I've played, but I will try the others out aswell.
7) I think that I will be pretty free until I find a planet I like more than others, then I'll probably make that my home and build a main base there, going to put up smaller bases on other planets to have some kind of a storage and / or safe place on the planets I venture with my buddy.

1. What race are you going to play, and why? Do any of the races just not appeal to you at all? Well I'm definitely going to play Novakids, but during the Beta I think I'll go with human.

For my first couple of characters during the beta I want to just casually play the game and test out things so I get the grip of everything, then after the beta I'll take it slow and do a lot of building.

When playing with friends, I end up being the one that does most (90%) of the building, if not all. Since I'm such a perfectionist and all. But I think I'll also find treasure hunting/exploration really fun with all the randomly generated structures and dungeons.
4. Are you going to play with other people? If so, with friends or on a big/small public server? Pretty sure I have two groups to play with. One group will be with me and two other friends and another group is just me and a friend. Depends how things go. Private server, of course.

6. What combat style do you prefer? Melee, Ranged, etc. Will you fight every enemy you come across? I prefer a ranged combat style, but the swords do look pretty awesome. As for combat, I think I'll try avoid it since it can get annoying sometimes and from what I've seen the battles take quite a while. So unless I'm in a dungeon, I don't really plan on going on a killing spree.
7. Are you going to have one "Main" base, multiple smaller bases or just wander around? What biome do you think you'll enjoy the most? Wow... For someone like me who does so much building it's a really tough question. I know one of my friends wants us to make a main underwater base and have smaller settlements with an underground tunnel connecting them. I do plan on building different themed bases/towns and I'm looking forward to most biomes.

 

I did this a while back but things have changed so I'll do it again:

1. What race? - Avian because at the time nobody seemed to like Avians so I went with the neglected race to give it some love.
2. Plans for first character? - Just derping around as xXxKnitWithLovexXx (my first character) will be deleted from the updates. Oh well.
3. What do you like to do? - BUILD ALL THE THINGS!
4. Who are you playing with? - My brothers and maybe some friends.
5. How many hours will you play? - Not sure if I can count that high.
6. Combat style? - No need for combat if you have the best armor and duel wielding shields!
7. Bases? - I'll have many bases scattered around the place. Keeps things interesting!

 

1. Avian. It was tough choosing between all of these great races, but I liked the tribal theme and the sheer amount of options.
2. First order of business: pants.

3. Treasure hunter/hoarder for sure! Collect ALL the loot!

4. Absolutely going to play with others, there's nothing like rushing to get all of the minerals out of a cave before your friend does.

5. This may become my new terraria!

6. I like having a mix of melee weapons (to bash stuff with), ranged weapons (to bash far away stuff with), and magic weapons (to bash stuff and make cool fireworks)

7. Make bases as I please. It's fun to one day find a base you completely forgot about. I don't know anything about the biomes at the moment, but I'd probably like one that seems earth-like.

Probably Hylotl at first, then Avian, maybe Apex cause I like their armor and furniture. Otherwise Hylotl. And gonna switch to Novakid when they make it in. I'm not really picky about which races I'm going to choose, or which I like. I plan to go and have a character from each race eventually.

Build mainly. I like building and I plan to do that mostly, I mean going through the tiers but I don't plan to just speedroll through it all. I'm also a bit of a lore fan, so going to be trying to find as much lore as possible. So exploring, finding things, building things. The normal stuff.

Exploring, and lore hunting mainly. Then building so mining may get boring but it gives me materials to build stuff with. So kinda got some pro's to it. Aside from those two, eh, I don't know what I'm going to do. When the story is finished probably do quests. =P

Personal server with friends. So yeah, probably gonna be playing with people. Might see about getting on a larger public server for the hell of it.

Too many. I've sank around 200 hours into Terraria. So I'm thinking up to or more then that.

Bit of both. If they attack me then it's free game, otherwise I'll not kill enemies unless I need to. I mean hunting is going to be part of the game so there's going to be times I need to hunt for food, though crops should work fine.

Probably going to convert a planet to a base, preferably underwater. I'm really looking forward to the frozen ocean biome. And that more then likely is going to be my first stop, if I can find one at least.

I really like all the races, but right now I'm leaning towards Floran cause plant people are cool, and the Glitch because I like robots

I'm a complete treasure hunter! Though mining and building a nice fortress is always fun.

Seeing as how my friends haven't pre-ordered yet, I'll probably be playing mostly on my own. Though if there are people on here that host public servers I may invade some of those

Sleep will be a thing of the past.

I'm a magic man myself, though ranged would be a close second.

I'm totally going to have a main base! Set up on the first planet that I really like with some natives that don't want to beat my face in. Once that's all set up, I'll go around and colonize other worlds, returning to my home every so often to relax.

 

1. I'm going to be playing Novakids, but in beta, probably Ze Glitch.
2. I will take anything i need from the first planet, then go and explore many more planets.
3. Mine until i have the resources to make a nice house, then just go ninja-exploring.

6. I would melee much of the time, but for bosses i would use range and melee when they get close.
7. I would make a nice little fortress into a normal biome (the grassy one, don't know the name ), and a lovely little wooden cabin into a snow biome.

1. Avian and Glitch, because I like the thought of being a medieval robot. I like to explore and build.
2. Explore and loot as much as I can, build my house/base and continue to the next planet when I'm satisfied with my work.
3. I will play by myself at first so I get to know the game a bit, and when I do I'll definetely play with friends and my brothers.
4. Hopefully 100+.
5. I like close range battles, but I might do some ranged sometime.

I'm going to become the most rich low tier person ever so nothing on my lvl 1 planet can kill me.

I love mining and hunting for treasure but I'll probably split my time between mining and being a peaceful builder/farmer.

As of right now I'm going to play with my brother for the foreseeable future.

Given that I have 2 actual days of school after it then a finals week , many hours every day.

I'm going to use a dagger and a pistol or small rifle so I can quickly dispatch all enemies who cross my path.

I'm going to have a massive base one a small planet and secure it as my homeworld that most of my materials will go towards. I'll definitely use grasslands or arctic for my base.

- Glitch my dear fellows. Medieval in the future ... sounds perfect.

- Peacefully build up a huge fortress.

- Mine and quarry till the end of time to just build up the fortress.(kind of like a fort planet)

- Alone ... none of my PRESENT friends got it but I can make new ones in guilds and stuff on a very populated server.

- At every moment life gives me some spare time (I really consider that this is a relaxing space but not the plane of my existence)

I really want to try a gun/sword combo, hit and run-ish (kite melee , and rush to a ranged while not being fully vulnerable to kite). Kill all when possible to practice... what I want will need LOTS of practice.

One HUGE base , probably some outposts on moons on same system , and a winter biome I would really love that. Long live The Raven !
