1. I'm going to be an Avian, I love their Mohawks and I like their lore
2. I am going to rush into the face of danger guns a'blazing/swords a'slashing . I love to challenge myself! Peace is for the weak, battle is for the EPIC!
3. I love exploring dungeons, mining is a chore for me. I like to explore biomes and planets. I want to see new things, to find new things to fight
4. I would play either with a lot of people or with a small group of friends.
5. I think I will play at least 3 hours on the first day but I will probably waste more than 100!
6. I prefer a mix of melee and range, shoot him until he gets close enough then melee. I will fight most monsters.
7. I will be a nomad, wandering the endless planets of Starbound.

 

1.) Probably Floran, the idea of the plant people just really appeals to me. My next choice would be Novakid, because those have pretty cool designs also. Next would be glitch, and the others would fall into line behind it.
2.) I'm gonna build a base and get set up on a good, resource-filled planet. I'll explore it until I'm sure I have every little detail, go to a new planet, rinse, wash, and repeat.
3.) Probably explore and build.
4.) Yeah, some of my friends on a small, private server. Only about 3 or 4.
5.) Hundreds and hundreds.
6.) Probably an equal mix of both. I'll leave enemies to their duties, but if they get in my way, they'd better be ready to fight.
7.) One large base on any planet I find that is mineral rich. If it doesn't have too many resources I'll make a tiny little outpost. My main base will be my ship, which will be a house-on-the-go if you will.

 

1. Either a Human, Glitch, or Novakid. I typically roll a human in games, and try to make them look like myself (but no game can capture how good looking I am), but the Glitch have cool lore, and the Novakid just look awesome.
2. I'll probably take my time, explore, and build myself a little town to live in. I'll explore and slowly build my empire, and conquer any other town I come across.
3. I love building. I like castles that tower into the sky, and secret passages abound. A town surrounding it too. I will also fight and explore. Exploration rarely get's old. I love looking for rare equipment and other settlements. And what's the purpose of all that high stat gear without a little combat thrown in
4. I don't play well with others (I must have split personality disorder. I'll shower people new to the game with gifts, only to return with a vengeance destroying what they've built and stealing their stuff.) so odds are just singleplayer unless I can get some friends on board.
5. 100-200 hours maybe? I don't know how much content there is in the game yet, so it could stagger up to 500 like GW2 did with me.
6. Melee and ranged for me. I melee normal enemies, but tend to range bosses. I'll fight most stuff, but after it'd be pointless and they are no harm to me I might let them live. Of course, I may just build torture chambers for them.
7. A major base with smaller ones branching out, and a town surrounding it. I'll build towns on all planets I find as well.

 

1. I'm leaning Glitch (my avatar here is a draft of my character edited onto a Glitch ship image) because I love the mix of tech with a medieval style, and hope their story has a chivalric flavor. Also considering Avian (I really like their appearance and gliding ability), and Hyotl (I like underwater races, but am still waiting on their lore). The ones that appeal to me the least are Humans (vanilla) and Floran (too dark for my taste), although I do like the Floran's player character story, and am curious to see the Human backstory.
2. I'm probably going to be more peaceful; I prefer building over combat.
3. I'm very interested in the tech abilities, and hope they have some interesting functionalities and potential for combinations. I also like setting up automation (like Wires in Terraria and Redstone in Minecraft); the "Duncan's Lab" Minecraft let's plays fascinate me.
4. I plan to play with my brothers, and hope the server system works well (we could never get Terraria's to work without being in the same building), although what I've heard sounds promising.
5. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time for gaming. Maybe 10 hours or so a week when it first comes out; after that it depends.
6. In groups I like to be the healer, otherwise, I like a variety (I'm more focused on clever builds than any particular combat style).
7. I'll probably have a main base if it's convenient to do so, with several outposts if travel to my main base isn't convenient. My favorite biome (and where I make my main base) will probably be either a snow biome (I've seen both "arctic" and "tundra" named on the travel screen of videos, but I haven't seen enough to tell the difference), or what appears to be some sort of mountaintop biome (the horizon is all clouds, but I've only seen it in videos and haven't caught the name).

 

1. Most likely the Novakid. I love the enigmatic lore surrounding them, and the western theme is very appealing. The theme music for them is really great, as well.
2. I'm most likely going to go rogue after a bit of server co-op.
3. Exploration is probably going to be the best part of the game in my opinion, and i look forward to it!
4. I'm probably going to be hosting a small private server with some of the same people that i play minecraft with.
5. A lot. Assuming that i'm not drowning in homework.

 

1. I'll play Floran first, then maybe Human and eventually Novakid. Avian doesn't particularly appeal to me, but I'm sure certain armor and color schemes could remedy that. It's just aesthetically displeasing.

2. Sort of a catch-all. I'll be playing almost exclusively multiplayer with my best friend. So quests will be the main focus, but we'll obviously have to build bases, farm for stuff, etc. Our Terraria bases usually had some charm and creativity, so we'll likely carry that on in here, except better =)

3. I really like fighting bosses. Mining rarely bothers me, at the very least, though it can get dull. Judging from the random weapons, etc.. I'm so excited to get some treasure!

4. Exclusively with my best friend.

5. I have over 130 hours in Terraria and I rarely put 20 hours into any games, so.. Probably 200+, assuming all goes well.

6. I liked magic in Terraria. I might use whatever the most unique weapons are (like status-inflicting ones and ones that heal or give buffs). I never really see a reason not to kill a monster unless you need to get somewhere fast, therefore ignoring them.

7. We'll probably have a main base and satellite bases. Because there are multiple planets, we'll probably need to make a lot of makeshift bases except for our favorite planet. I don't know the biomes well enough to say which I'll prefer. Suffice it to say I've liked the looks of all biomes.

Peaceful Explorer, I shall simple examine everything I can and collect the coolest things.

I shall hunts for the treasure and keep all the amazing things I find and trash all the other stuff.

I'll be playing with friends, I'll be hosting large serves for my youtube videos but my main account will just be with friends. All the rage for the youtubes

Over 9000 of course.

Ranged, to the heavens with my arrows.

I'll have one main base, and one overnight base for each cave a end up in.

I will be a Glitch because I 1) like robots and 2) I think that mining faster is really useful.

I probably will end up exploring for an extended amount of time, then find a homeworld to settle down in.

I like mining and looking for loot, and building big castle like things.

Mostly solo

As many as I can without it being to much (20-25 a week most likely)

I like a mix of Melee and ranged I will take any fights I can

I'm going to build a HUGE caastle

I am most interested in Hylotl and human, but I'll probably roll every character at least once.

Thorough exploration will be the order of the day. Since I can't count on my server's data being saved all the way through beta, it will be more important to me to get a thorough understanding of each aspect of the game as it comes to me. Not only does this mean I'll fly right on through the lower levels when I can roll characters that I know will be for keeps, but it also finds the most bugs!

Generally I dislike mining or being underground. Your enjoyment becomes almost irrevocably hinged on RNG giving you the loot you want or the dungeons you hunger for. On the surface you can derp around with friends or work on some nice houses / crafting tech. That creative freedom can't be experienced as easily underground due to having a ceiling of rock above you 24/7.

I go where the community is friendliest. People who love fun are fun to be around no matter how many or few they may be. Of course, I'll always keep a little slice of paradise hidden away to play with my old roomates.

5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?
Oh boy, I may die of starvation during the first week of launch! If I don't, it will probably be somewhere around 1-7 hours a day depending on work, job applications/interviews, and any other games that have been good to me over the last year (LoL and Day Z).

6. What combat style do you prefer? Melee, Ranged, etc. Will you fight every enemy you come across?
Combat in games like this always gets too hectic for me if I don't sit in the back somehow. I do like supporting roles, but I prefer to do so with some kind of ludicrously big gun. Let me dispense healthpacks in peace, heathens!

7. Are you going to have one "Main" base, multiple smaller bases or just wander around? What biome do you think you'll enjoy the most?
I've been known to build elaborate farmhouses, cabins, and treehouses in minecraft. Sure, they get lit on fire and are lost to antiquity sooner or later, but cold steel and concrete or cobblestone just feels so unwelcoming. Give me a cliffside estate with a torchlit balcony to sit on when the rain comes in and I'm sold.

And I'm pretty sure I could have mentioned this before, but I would love to do a nomadic playthrough. One life, tents only, can't use any inventory slots on your ship to carry your stuff, can't build any permanent fortification. The adventure to a new place always seems so much more exciting when you don't know if you're prepared for what's coming, I think that would make a mighty-fine mod of the game to play once the regular playthroughs start to bog down waiting for beta updates.

2. I'll be very reckless exploring for quite a bit. Then settle down to slightly less reckless exploring.

4. I'll probably give multiplayer a go at some point, but not a priority. That just never ends well.

I am going to play human because i am a boring and sad person. I am going to rush alllll the things and find everything, so yeah i would be a treasure hunter. I would mostly solo it but would love to jump in and out of other peoples games to have fun and socialize, not sure how long i will play, probably until i get all the best gear and items. i will probably be melee focused but of course there are some creatures that you will just need guns for so ill be sure to have a strong sidearm. I am not sure what biome i will enjoy the most but for the most part i will have no bases of any sort anywhere...because i like being homeless and alone. =D

 

Upon further consideration, I have calculated the amount of time I can spend playing Starbound over the course of my life. I plan on play for 247.3 hours. Sorry I couldn't be more precise, I'll work on the seconds later.

I'll probably farm an asston of tech so I can get op as fuck then I will obliterate everything in my path.

I find exploring dungeons and treasure hunting to be way funner than mining. (Or I will go skyrim style on the game and steal from villages)

I don't know, if the game is really good and I get sucked into it it can zoom to 1000 hours pretty fast.

I will probably have one main massive science lab and several other bases scattered across the universe, I love jungle and tundra biomes because they are isolated and they are beautiful imo.

1. Glitch, they just appeal to me for so many reasons but I can't manage to put it into words. I wouldn't play any other except maybe human and novakid.

• Just be a survivalist and try to stay cozy in my nice house, which I'll decorate with things I've gathered from biomes and dungeons around the world(s), and of course I'll always be looking to get better and stronger.

• I enjoy mining but mostly I'll want to cautiously explore any and all curious areas I come across.
