1. A human, novakid, and hylotl, to be sure. Likely the human first. I like all the races, and I have character ideas for all of them, but it will likely be these guys first.
2. I plan to explore and attempt to get him to a very high level as soon as possible. He is meant to be my explorer.
3. Explore, get cool items, see interesting biomes, and play/roleplay with friends.
4. Of course! I am a big roleplayer, so I will very much want to play with friends, or strangers on roleplay servers.
5. Quite a lot, I wager.
6. Ranged, with a rapid fire weapon preferably like a SMG or quickfire pistol type gun.
7. I will probably have a main base on my favorite planet, which will hopefully have snow/frozen ocean biome. A base where I can have a leisurely respite while watching the aurora over the snow and icy oceans. In addition to safe houses/smaller bases on my other favorite planets. Since my human character is a xeno-archaeologist, he will need bases near his excavation sites, and I definitely think I will build small bases solely for roleplay purposes.

 

1. I probably might just pick randomly and go with it, but I probably would be a Novakid. I've never played as a sentient body of fire before. All the races are pretty cool, so I don't despise any of them; however, human would probably be the last race I would ever play.


2. Well I have been playing Harvest Moon recently, so I probably might start out as a peaceful farmer. Also, it seems like a good combination if I was a Novakid considering that they probably emit radiation like the sun.

3. Building contraptions with wires would probably be something that I would like to do in the game. Mining never gets boring unless I haven't found anything useful for a while. If you consider smelting ore into blocks and putting them in a trophy room as treasure hunting then yeah I'm a treasure hunter.

4. I will be making a private server with my friends and possibly make it small public server in the future.

5. That usually depends, possibly 300+.

6. I prefer melee, because it feels more satisfying and climactic. I will fight every enemy I come across.

7. I will build a Main base and have smaller bases that branch out from that main base. I think I will enjoy being the snow biome the most.

2. My plans are to find an awesome planet, start building an epic base, then venture out into the start to gather more stuff while tackling whatever the goals of the game are.
3. See the last one. Building an awesome base then slowly expanding it as I gather newer, awesome loot is pretty much my play style with these sort of games... Of course my base will include any sort of farming and side stuff I can build into it, and I'm sure I'll spend tons of time exploring and mining for materials and such.
4. Unlikely unless I find myself with access to better internet. If I do, then definitely.
5. It depends on how much content there is. 50-100 hours would be a conservative estimate if this were comparable to Terraria in content. Since there seems to be much more to it, I have no idea..
6. In this sort of game, I usually prefer melee combat.
7. As I said before, I'm likely to create one, huge, epic base. And it'll likely be a bit of an oasis in an otherwise hostile biome.

I copied the question you asked so I don't have to constantly go back & forth :>

1. Glitch. I'm very fond of the Medieval times, and their furniture style. All the races look great to me.
2. My first character? Well, I'm assuming at Beta stage one, but I'm going to make a Glitch. He's a common glitch raider. What else? When stage 3 and up comes, I'll make a Novakid named Kente.
3. Decorating, Raiding villages for furniture, trading, Mining farming.. (I made sure I didnt use caps... ->) Exploring and finding and putting on armor pieces that very may be cursed, and using weapons!
4. Meh. I might. I'd play with a few friends on a small LAN server. Maybe once I get the ropes of it, larger servers.
5. Five hundred Quintrillinillion. The highest number is a millinillion. Why not go higher :>
6. Preferably lasers and fire. My glitch only fights with reason, set aside from his ways of stealing. Kente will pretty much burn anything that interupts his causes.
7. My main base will probably be my spaceship, If I can expand it. If not, a bigger ship if I can find one :> I want it to be mobile. Edit: I don't believe it. Post number #666...... I'm cursed! No wonder my text is in red

 

1. Hmm... I'm either going to be Human, Avian, Apex, Hylotl, Glitch, Floran, or Novakid.
2. I'll probably play the game at a steady pace. Until I change my race. And repeat.
3. I will hunt ALL the treasures.
4. Probably with my friends.
5. First Day: 24 hours. Second Day: 48 hours. And so on and so forth.
6. Ranged. With big sniper rifles and assault rifles.
7. I'll probably mainly live on my spaceship. Lots of beaming will be needed.

 

1.Dont know will prolly roll all races at least once to se what I like best.
2.Prolly do a little settle down to prep then rush to danger to see what I can handle.
3.Ill prolly do everything I can at least once to see what i like best.
4.If I can find a good public server sure ill be on also might set up a private for me and 5-6 friends.
5.considering I have 300+ hours on terraria I think quite a few specially if I can get my friends on a server.
6.Melee if im tanking for my friends but carry a backup range for low health/enemies I cant reach.
7.1 Large base at least and maybe some smaller bases in other areas as jumpoff/safepoints.

Mining is only really boring a the beginning, when it's super slow. I prefer to explore new areas, though.

I'm hoping I can find a small server to play on, just me and a few friends.

Sword and Board. I will be a mighty space paladin, destroying all those who dare stand in the way of justice.

I'll most likely pimp out the first really cool planet I find, and make that into my Homeworld/Main base. I think I'll enjoy whatever biome it was that has the frozen orb looking trees.

 

1. I will play either a Glitch or Novakid. The Glitch seem really interesting because they resemble the Geth from the Mass Effect series and they always interested me. The humanization of a machine is always been a interesting story. The Novakid's interest me because they are so dang shiny XP and they remind me of the playful creatures from mythology Will o' Wisps. Humans repel me because they are such a overdone race which is not necessarily a problem given they are well US.
2. I don't really know what my plan is, Probably explore as much as i can.
3. Explore, Explore, and EXPLORE. Mining does get boring eventually and i do indeed love that feeling of finding treasure.
4. Definitely will be playing with my friend Robbie who also is hugely anticipating the game. Probably will just be he and I playing.

6. I'm more of a melee guy but i prefer stealth melee, I.E. Rogues, Assassins.
7. I'm sure i will have a main base but i will never be at it because i love EXPLORING!

 

1)A Floran, I love plants and I loved grass types from pokemon, I think they look very cool in their design as well.

2) Wander as far as I can without hitting a complex and difficult area and explore

3) I will mine untill the planet is in rubble if it is not where i shall be at home and all the treasure i shall share with my comrads!

4) What is a man without his comrads in battle? (Duo/Trio)

5) Maybe too much.

6) Mystical Tanks, I love my fair share of magics/ancients and using melee versions to their maximum potential

7) Oh man, this one I do not know, me and my comrads will most likely create towers that can not be invaded and a village within and we may have 3-4 per planet or just 1 dependant if we like the planet we are on.

1. I think I'll go with human. I like every race but I just can't decide. But human always feels like a solid pick. The lore I like the most though is the Novakids.
2. On my first char I will just explore every inch of the wonderful game. I'LL DO IT ALL!

4. I will play with my best friend, who just as I have followed the development of Starbound since the beginging.
5. I'll play too may, probably.
6. I pretty much always always play as a mage-like character. And the guns/energy-system seems to be the closest. But I'm very interested in the meele-combat. Dual-weilding swords and such. So I think I'll go with meele on my first char.
7. I'll probably turn a small planet into my whole base, going all the way 'round the planet. That will be my fisrt, and only base.
But I will explore tons of other planets of course!

 

1. Novakid, they most closely resemble my when in my true and entire form.
2. I will conquer the universe...me being a entity more powerful than anything you mortals have experienced I will be known as a god.
3. I will acquire all of the most treasured goods.
4. All will know of my power. I will being the building blocks of a powerful nation full of thousands.
5. My time is not limited to hours. I will lock in as much time as my soul pleases.
6. All enemies that come across my path will regret even getting a glimpse of me.

I think I'll just wander around first, because there will be SO MANY PLAAAACEEES, don't want to stick to one place, because there's probably a better place somewhere else !

In Beta probably Human or Hyotl, on Release obviously the Novakids, since they're the most intresting Race.

Since my playstyle in all other games is like: search for everything and get lost ingame, I will be quite slow in progress.

Mining isn't that appealing for me (I didn't like it in Terraria but still played it till the very end) I'm more the combat-exploring Guy. I absolutley love the
dungeons in Starbound.

Sure I will play with my friends on a small Hamachi-server. But I'd love to see a giant public server with a lot people, so it's like in a MMO.

Quite a lot. In total time 100h+ but I won't play all day. Maybe 2-3h a day max.

I don't know how it "feels" to play this game, so I won't answer that question. If the Melee-Combat "feels" good the I'll play melee. Same with ranged.
And I probably won't EVERY monster, but a lot of them.

One big "Main" base is good with smaller camps on other planets. But looking for a good biome will be hard. Maybe desert and build a big sand fortress
like in Final Fantasy VI?

Starting out I will most likley have a central base on a appropriate planet then later on make smaller ones scattered about in planets that contain alot of precious ores/metals. I will also like all biomes because I think each one will be very unique

 

1. Human. Lots of hair styles and racial armor set bonus for them is rather nice.
2. Using reason on answer 1, I'm gonna play a nomad. I'm gonna be spelunking and exploring, looking for a good place to establish a base. Preferably underground.
3. Mining, building, monster slaying, treasure hunting.
4. Eh, depends. I don't mind playing with pubs, so long as there's strong anti-griefing mechanics in place and server hosts don't reset often to make new worlds. Oh, and no obligatory hardmode mods in place either. I play with others to have fun, not to make a super chore out of making a machine or weapon.
5. As much time as Minecraft most likely, which is a lot.
6. I normally prefer melee, but seeing as guns don't have ammo you need to keep supplied (as far as I can tell from videos), I might look at ranged if melee damage isn't strong enough.
7. Probably a combination of both. A main base to store all my stuff and where I'll spend my time doing most crafting, and minibases dotting the planet where I conduct mining operations and other such activities which I use as temporary storage before hauling it back to the main base. Recommended biome would most likely belong to something of extreme levels such as arctic or volcanic or desert.

Although a tad cliche, I'm going to pick the Glitch. Robots are cool.

Mining doesn't really get boring to me much, only when it starts to get tedious (which I only feel like happens when you have to mine low level ores alot)

I'll do singleplayer first, then join some public servers.

Well, I already have 182 hours in Terraria, so I'd say it's the kind of game I'd play for thousands of hours.

I mix it up. I know functionally I'm going to need to pick one but I like to do whatever.

Not sure. If you can place chests in your ship then wandering seems the smartest. I'll bookmark the good planets, though.
