1. I'm definitely leaning towards Novakid, primarily because I've always liked movies and stories about the old west, as well as science fiction, and I think the Novakid blend those to genres together in an excellent way.

2. My plan for my first character is to explore. To boldly go where no one has gone before. My other long term goal is to create some work of fiction based on my character and the adventures I have in game. With any luck I'll be able to pull off making a machinima movie, but I also like writing and will probably end up writing a story about them anyway.
3. I think I'm going to just explore for a while, complete the storyline, and then find a planet I really like and build a home there. Probably a large house with all manner of rooms including(but not limited to) a research lab, a weapons locker, a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen, a garage for vehicles, perhaps a whole floor devoted to keeping animals that I have tamed, if that is a thing.
4. I really want to host a server for people I know in person to play on. This will probably be the first game that all of my friends will be able to play, so I really want us all to be able to enjoy it together.
5. The real question is, how many hours will I NOT be playing. This game is one that I have been looking forward to since it's announcement, and I am going to spend as much time as possible playing it.
6. I usually prefer to not have to engage in combat at all, but I know I'll have to, so I think ranged will probably be my combat style.

2A: Acquire a set of blue pajamas, some bunny slippers, a sleeping hat and then fly around space while poopin' rainbows.

3A: Kill their families, kill their families. Seriously though, I'll probably enjoy crafting and decorating my neato fort that i will build, it'll probably be like a pirate ship because pirates are cool and i am sorta affiliated with them (I think?)

4A: I bought myself and seven friends a copy so we can play, what we'll do will likely deviate into just messing up each others bases.

5A: Judging from my playtime on Terraria, it will be a lot.

6A: I'm an up close and personal dude guy, I like swords and seeing candy red blood fly everywhere. Hotline Miami is basically my favorite game and that is somehow relevant to this topic.

1. I haven't decided between Avian or Glitch yet. Leaning towards playing as my Glitch character Alpha XII, I like the lore behind the Glitch's and could really make a back story for him.

Take it one step at a time, make a place I would like to call my home. Start farming so I have a source of food, while breaking away from the Glitch's tyranny rule. And of course explore till I search every inch of the universe.

Since I will probably be playing as a Glitch my home will probably be a big castle, which will require lots and lots of minerals meaning lots and lots of mining. It will have a huge farm, big enough to feed 100's of strangers that come upon my land. I also will domestic animals. While I am doing all this I will also be an explorer looking for the ancient artifacts.

4. Are you going to play with other people? If so, with friends or on a big/small public server?
I would like to get together with some people and play together. My brother and I played well over 100 hours together on Terraria so I am looking forward to playing with him as well. But to start off I will probably play solo in my own universe.

5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?
From the sound of content, well over 300+ hours.

6. What combat style do you prefer? Melee, Ranged, etc. Will you fight every enemy you come across?
Dual wield swords/daggers, guns, sword and shield will probably be my combat style.

Glitch first. The only one i really don't like is the apex.

Avian! I love birds and feathery things with a passion. I dislike Apex; I've never been a fan of monkeys or apes. However, I do love the super-science super-military feel to them...

Take what I need off the first planet, search for a better place for my home, fight fight fight!

I'm what people tend to call a loot-whore in games. I take everything that catches the tiniest bit of my interest. I'll be crafting, building, and looting constantly.

I've basically been holding a megaphone to my friends' ears to get this game so we can all play on a server that I will probably host myself.

All of the hours.

I prefer ranged combat. Archery and guns are my favorite. Lasers, cannons, thrown weapons, magic and the like are all wonderful, but I do have preferences. As for the monsters? What monsters? I killed them already.

Glitch, because even if it's not a giant robot, it's a robot, and that's good enough. And the Avians do not appeal to me. They appeal to everyone else, but I just hate birds.

I'm gonna probably be monster fight guy, but other than that, I'm just gonna attempt to make as many instruments as I can and play a bunch of music.

Going by Terraria, I like to fight stuff, but also go on mining expeditions that take me through vast cave systems. And my houses are usually just rectangular rooms that I tend to stack vertically.

With friends. I don't like public servers.

No clue, as many as I can devote myself to, I suppose.

Melee. EVERYTHING. Except stuff that will very easily kill me. Especially if it's a ranged enemy.

It looks as though I'll be playing a Glitch character to start off with. As for lack of appeal, I'm going to have to say the Floran race

Always challenge myself. I expect that I'll be raiding planets with a much higher threat level than would normally be considered sane, in order to attempt early access to better ores and potentially better gear.

Treasure hunter first-and-foremost. I enjoy the mining aspect of these kinds of games as well. I don't mind building, but I tend to live the life of a nomad in these kinds of games, always drifting from one planet/world to another.

As opposed to my normal behavior, I'm going to try out public servers first. As I get more comfortable with the game, I'll likely play more on my own, or with a small group of like-minded people.

Aside from art school commitments and my job, I'm likely spend a large portion of my free time playing Starbound.

I tend to play around with ranged weaponry more than melee, but I'm happy to do both. I'll likely exterminate anything that crosses my path, especially if creatures drop rare materials. If not, then they'll die horribly anyways

Human, Glitch and Novakid will be my first races! I have always been a fan of robots and such in games, and I think they look pretty cool, especially the different head mods so far. Novakid's are very interesting and I don't know much about them other than they are the latest race to be added. Human should be a pretty obvious one, in the fact that it would just be nice to be a Human, maybe a starbound version of me or something. All of the races appeal to me though! I would also like to try out the plant and bird races.

I would like to just take in the world and go through it at a nice rate, although..I probably will end up playing for hours and hours straight the first time, and will probably rush through a huge amount of the game, but I would like to take in all the environments and the beauty of it.

I like to do it all, but I do enjoy building and exploring as my two favorites. Treasure hunter I guess! And a Builder on the side. My houses and bases are generally something safe and small. For some reason I like to make something that monsters will have a lot of trouble getting into. (I like feeling safe)

Friends, just like when I played through Terraria (don't know if it is rude to bring up another game here) But when I started playing Terraria, me and my friends made a small Hamaichi server and played for...almost 24 hour's straight one weekend, throughout the game together. I introduced Star bound to my friend Auston recently and he is excited as well, if They won't buy it, I'll buy it for them in order for them to play it with me.

5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?
This is an evil question...the hours I will play on this game, I cannot say..probably will become addicted to it, schools starting soon though, so I most likely will just be playing it after school and weekends.

Uhh I sort of like to be subtle, would not like to attack every enemy, but I usually prefer Melee type combat, if the enemy is scary enough though I may be more prone to use Ranged.

 

1. Look at the profile picture. I love robots and everything autonomous. The Glitch have an interesting lore to me. Also, Glitch is an awesome name. Glitch are so cool!!!

2. Ah, my first character. It's going to be exactly what you see in the profile picture. I memorized the numbers of customization and everything. His name is J-0500. Wanna know why? I think it's pretty cool. My name starts with a J. If you write my first and last name, and change all the possible letters to numbers, there is an O, then an S, then two more Os. 0500. So, that's the name. J-0500. If anyone can guess my full name using just this information, you're amazing.

3. I've never played Starbound, so I don't know what I like to do. I have something like 500 hours on Steam's Terraria, and I just did an assortment of things. I think, for J-0500, I'll just explore and discover as much as I possibly can. Learn the game mechanics, do everything prerfectly, get a feel for it... hm... have any of you ever played Spore? If so, I'm sure you've played it through to space more than once. But, do you remember your first game? You were striving to do things and discover all at the same time. I think I'm gonna make it like the first playthrough of Spore. Learning new things at every corner. Doing nothing but learning. Then, I'm gonna go back and make a new file with J-0600. And I'll play the game in the playstyle that I think will be most fun.

4. I, like for Minecraft and Terraria, am going to set up my own server and invite 1-2 of my closest friends to play together. Of course, I'll be playing in SP as well a lot.

6. Back when I played Terraria a lot, I loved magic. I used the Magic Missle WAAAY past the point of it's usefulness because I liked to put on the link costume and make it my Navi. But then my friend convinced me that it was too weak for our power, and I had to put it down for crystal storm.... I was sad, because I LOVED controlling a magic missle. He told me there was no stronger version of it. But then I found it... THE RAINBOW ROD. And I was like, IN YO FACE!!!! So yeah, I like magic. But, magic's not gonna be in this game. So I'll go with the only thing as cool as magic... SCIENCE!! I hope there are some cool ranged weapons that don't run out of ammo. Like guns, but more science-y and less call of dut-y. So in short, I hope there's a weapon of mass destruction for the glitch which shoots green ones and zeroes in the System Font EVERYWHERE, and it would be called the Glitch Gun. That's just me, though. I won't kill docile creatures in the game, but I will DECIMATE ANYTHING THAT COMES ACROSS ME. Like that happy kitty from the livestream? I'd blow it's head off with my Glitch Gun. And I'd like it.

Hylotl, I like their culture/architecture and am a fan of Japanese culture/architecture in real life and it seems like Hylotl have a lot of influences from there. I guess Apex are least appealing to me, but I have no real reasoning there. They would be my last choice though. I do love how Starbound seems to turn a lot of the usual tropes on their head and do things differently. Florans being murderous and Glitch being medieval are too cool and little touches like that really give Starbound unique flavor and feel.

I plan on exploring. I don't want to rush through the game, but I do want to continue up the tiers so there is nothing stopping me from going all over the universe and seeing everything there is! I want to catalogue everything I come across and find ruins and capture new monsters. Finding unique and interesting places will be my primary motivations in the game.

I like to explore and craft. I think that progression is most fun because of the access to new and interesting items and the way those new items help you move through and survive new areas of the game. I love finding secrets and going on the road least traveled. I think the idea of finding places in the game your friends (or maybe anyone) hasn't seen before is super cool.

I'll have a solo game that is my own and I can do whatever I want in, but I'll mostly host a server for myself and a few friends. I think that these games are most fun when played with friends. I'll never play on a public server though. I don't like trolls and don't want to have to deal with people that only have fun by messing up other people's fun.

I honestly believe Starbound will become my primary free time entertainment once it releases. I could easily see myself playing for several hundred hours if not more. If Starbound ends up having everthing that the devs want in the game I'll probably be playing this game for many years to come.

This is a tough one. Both styles are fun but I usually end up playing whatever style keeps me safer/is smarter to go with. I'd imagine I'll play ranged most of the time after I get access to guns, etc. In fact, if the mechs and vehicles have guns that is probably what I would use. I won't indiscriminately kill everything I come across but I will fight hostile monsters/npcs. Also, I'll probably have pvp off usually unless I'm doing something special with friends like a battle royale type event. I'd rather worry about what the game has to throw at me than my friends murdering me, hahaha.

Novakid. Not sure why, I guess because they look neat. Perhaps also a bit of bias due to the wild-west outfitting.

I will probably build a big base first and gather tons of fuel/materials before heading off my first planet. Definitely before fighting the first boss. I may even attempt to ignore every boss battle and just explore.

Building is generally my favourite thing to do. But, if they have creature trackers and stuff like that, exploration/research may become another hobby.

If I do multiplayer, likely I would only do it with my friends, and a few of them at that. I'm usually really easily annoyed by small silly things in player behaviours to be able to play with a lot of random folks.

Let's just say there's no integer computers could display large enough to show the number.

I prefer ranged, but have found melee to be easier to handle (and generally much faster). Unless the creature attacks me I don't think I'd chase it down to kill it until I need food.

I haven't been able to pick between a Human or a Glitch, but if the Novakid's emit light at night, I might go with them because I hate being torchless! The dark is scary!

Drink Lava...and see how that goes. Then I'll probably just travel around building a base per planet, exploring the planet to add to that base. When I'm happy with it, fly off to start another base. I'll eventually build a sky garden because the risk of plummeting to your demise just makes gardening more fun.

I'm normally a builder and a peaceful farmer. I just make whatever I fancy. There will probably be a castle, a roman antechamber with pillars, a mad scientist's lab, a Halloween haunted house (if props allow), a tree house, a hobbit hole... you never know! I'll see what I'm able to build.
Monster taming... I absolutely have to try this feature. Gotta catch 'em all!
Also, seeing all the options for combat it would be a shame not to give it a go! I plan to try to branch out into combat and see how I fare. On easy mode. *Cough cough*

I'd like to play with my older brother and some friends privately, but if that doesn't work out I'll be doing single player until I've more or less exhausted my first character. Then I'll probably poke my head into a public server and see how it goes.

All of them! As much free time as I can set aside. I'm so psyched for this game.

I'm not much of a fighter, but I plan to try them all. I want to start with Melee because swordplay looks fun. If there's some sort of mass-explosive bomb-launching I would also love that!

Hylotl because I like reptiles and its the race closest to anything reptilian in the game at the moment, really (Yes, I know they are amphibians. I was referring to them being cold-blooded).

I'm going to explore until I find a nice planet to settle down in.

Farming and terraforming and mining! And I'm going to find ancient alien tech that is still more advanced than my titanium dessert fork!

Playing with friends is fun. Small servers are great too. Large servers are disorienting and attract all sorts of people some of which want nothing more than to make your life miserable (speaking from experience from large servers in Minecraft). They are also quite often profit-oriented.

100 hours? Sandbox games won't get me bored easily if they are done well.

A combination of melee and ranged depending on what I'm fighting. Adaptability is the key to survival. I will only fight that which I can hope to conquer and run away screaming if it shoots flaming exploding snot at 300 RPM.

Human, whats better. The humans will obviously rule the world one day, dahhh.

I am planning on becoming a archeologist, to study the endless possibilities of starbound, to travel to the depths of the end world race, and fight for all who Ive know and loved . With a side hobby in technology and long ranged combat.

I have the tendency to create over sized underground laboratory's, mining never gets boring, treasure hunting is enjoyable, and no i am not so much a builder. Unless you include the construction of many technological advances in starbound?

I am planning on playing private and public servers alike as long as they have a strong RPG sense or even just a friendly community.

Funny question, i am expected the count to at least reach 100 hours by the first day.

I prefer using the powers of technological advances but if that fails my next favorite would be Ranged with quick close quarter combat.

Probably gonna make a Glitch at the beginning, like the medieval style and art of the race. Avians and Florans are appealing too.

Slow pace with lots of exploration, that's what it will be.

I'm usualy iterating everything I can do in the game with the purpose to not get bored by any of those.
