So the whole universe worth of aliens in one planet. There would be a mass war for territory. Fun. We all know Tiy would kill us all though.

 

1. I will be a Glitch, because Robots are just awesome.
2. I will peacefully farm and get my supplies ready for a large raid.
3. I like to fight things and just relax and enjoy the ambiance. It looks quite fun just to watch the sky from the streams I've seen so far.
4. Playing with friends on a small private server would be my goal.
5. 60+
6. I like to run in and bash things with a ridiculously large sword, so melee for me.

 

I will be one of the stars, this is my resolve. To hide underground, never to be found.

Human is what I'll be because I'm uninteresting. Also I'll probably have a Novakid alt because they are cool-beans.

I have no plans for my character except to emulate my persona as closely as possible. Probably will never be as exact as I want but meh, I'm picky.

3. What do you like to do in the game? Is mining something that never gets boring to you? Are you a treasure hunter? If you're a builder, what do your houses/bases generally look like?
I would be an explorer first, and builder second. I want to explore the stars, and record each planet I find to create an extensive guide on the wiki for others to use. My builds generally are pristine/blank white ultra-modern type builds with red and blue tones.

I'd love to play with other people, probably on a small server, but a large server if one can be developed.

5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?
Probably too many.

Melee. I want to hit things with my sword. I'd probably keep a gun on me just in case. I don't know If I'd kill everything in sight because I am unsure there is an incentive (like EXP) to do so.

I can't decide between Hylotl, Floran, or Novakid. All three of them look awesome! Most likely I'll be Floran and look exactly like my profile picture.

I'm probably going to spend a lot of time building and exploring, but eventually I'll progress.

I love to build and explore the most. My houses/bases differ constantly, but I love to build whimsical pastel medieval-style. (If that makes any sense!) I've heard that there's monster taming, so I'll probably work towards building an army of adorably cute monsters.

I prefer to play with other people. Hopefully with several of my real-life friends, or on a larger server. As long as I'm playing with friends it doesn't matter.

5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?
Probably lots more than the hours I've played on Terraria. So...probably over 1,000. (I may never be bored of Starbound)

6. What combat style do you prefer? Melee, Ranged, etc. Will you fight every enemy you come across?
I'd prefer a combination of both, unless there's laser weapons, which would mean ranged. I don't like fighting as much, so I'll avoid enemies. If I'm playing with other people, there's less of a risk of dying, so I'll fight more when I'm with others.

 

1. Floran or Novakid. I don't really know why but I don't like the apex.
2. I plan on playing with some friends so I guess I'll try and keep up with them as best I can.

5. If Terraria is any indicator, I would say over 300 hours!

This is the question that doesn't let me sleep at night...To put it simple i love the Glitch Medieval style, but they're robots which doesn't appeal to me that much...on the other hand i can easily see miself in the Novakids, but i hate the cowboy theme...so yeah, my brain is been melting for months.

I rushed Skyrim and kinda ruined the experience. I did replay it, but it wasn't the same thing.
So i think i'm going to do the most challanging things, treasuring each fun and epic moment.

Exploring and Treasure Hunting never gets old! This applies to mining too if you're looking for a very rare material in a very dark cave.

I'm an anti-social amoeba, thus i hate all mankind, except my girl.

The first day will probably be "until-i-fall-asleep-on-my-keyboard". After that i might be able to play for 6-10 hours when i have the time.

Mage. Or some kind of Magic Swordsman thing.
But i guess that won't be possible in this game, so i'm going to go Swordsman. I really hope the game doesn't force you to get a ranged weapon for bosses, i don't like rifles.

 

1) Avian. I imagine these birdlike creatures have a lot of agility and dexterity, which i love. (I know they probably won't stat-wise but.. shh.)
2) I'll be the first one underground!
3) I will def be doing a lot of mining and slaughtering of whatever evil creatures i come across in the tunnels and caves. If it's shiny, it's mine.
4) I'll be playing with probably 5 or so of my friends on a big server.. I love pvp!
5) Any free time I have will be spent on this game. Nuff said.
6) Ranged combat is definitely my style. Guns & Arrows baby!!

I'm a relaxed kind of player, but for me being relaxed is being in a place way out of my league.

I do everything. My houses look neat and practical and are usually well fortified. If I don't want anything else getting in, then I'll find a way to make it so.

Of course I will. I Have a brother that would be interested in playing, simply because the Florans exist and I'll do a good job of convincing a few friends to join me.​

Plus this community is looking good, so I hope to play with a few of these people.

Probably more than I logged on Pokemon Yellow. (So about 600+)

I won't rush through the game 'cause that kind of ruins the experience so I'll take my time to enjoy the game.

I love building in these kind of games so I'll probably put a lot of effort into building a beautiful house before exploring the rest of the world.

I hope I'll find some people in the IRC to play with. Maybe I can also convince some of my Steam friends to play with me.

That totally depends on the content that the game offers But it looks like it is going to be awesome so I'll play it alot.

In most roleplay games I play the common warrior with sword and shield but I am kind of tired of this playstyle so I think I'll go for ranged combat.

First character is going to be either a Floran for the awesome plant theme stuff, or a Glitch (because who can resist medieval-themed androids?).

I plan on doing a let's play with my first character, so I want to experience as much as I can and do the things that come to me naturally as the game progresses. After a few characters, I would like to start collecting and categorizing everything in the game for display on a massive hub/library/museum planet.

I am mostly an explorer/treasure hunter. I like to find interesting places and collect ALLLLLLLL the things, especially cool or valuable items. Later on, once I've discovered a bunch, I will find a cool planet and build some sort of awesome multipurpose farms with tons of room for storage. After that, who knows?

I have a couple friends that I'll definitely be playing with at some point, and a large public server would be pretty cool if I can find a good one :)

Well as far as I can guess based off of my current gaming habits and knowledge of the game's scope, it'll be at least 600 to 800 hours before I start slowing down.

I tended towards ranged weapons in Terraria if that is anything to go by, but I will likely try out multiple styles of combat before I decide on anything. I will likely kill most enemies that threaten me, but I'll try not to kill especially cool/cute ones, thereby encouraging the evolution of interesting monsters via my own skewed sense of Darwinian evolution.

I think I'm going to play a Novakid upon release. Otherwise, during the beta, I'll probably play a Floran or an Avian. I'd have to say the Hylotl's don't really seem all too interesting at all. In fact, I think it'd be really odd to play one. I think the Novakid's are b/a, though. I think the Novakid's race-specific in-game objects will be really interesting to see. The Avians I just mainly like because I can make a penguin out of one. :I Honestly, I've made so many fan arts of Novakid's that I cannot picture myself playing anything else first. Maybe a Human, to be bland. They're kind of cool looking. o3o​

I think I'd probably be a huge explorer. Try to upgrade my ship a lot, and travel practically anywhere possible. It'd just be so fun to see all the differences between everything, and more. I'd probably end up spending a lot of time on building crap though, so. xD​

I really enjoy building things. I think I'd love building in Starbound, especially due to ALL of the different blocks. My usual type of house would probably be a humongous manor or something of the sort. Maybe a base underneath/in an ocean. Oh dear lord, it will be great. Mining would kind of get boring in most games, to me, but in Starbound? More than likely not. ​

I'm definitely going to play with others. I'm not sure as to who I'll play with at this point in time, but I'll probably convince some friends to get Starbound, and play on a small private server. Maybe go onto a public server every once in a while.​

Let's just put it this way: I think I'll play it at least quadruple the amount of time I've played Terraria. (Really embarrassed about this, but I have like 190 hours on Terraria.​

I usually prefer ranged; guns or something along those lines usually fit my style. I'd honestly probably just hide and cower in a small home 65% of the time. Heh. Maybe some magic use - I'm not sure if that'll be in Starbound, though. I also think the Mech's will be so much fun.​

I will be playing as a Human or/and Novakid, human because i just prefer being as close to myself as i can be. The novakids just for fun and being the opposite to me is refreshing sometimes.

I will set out to find a perfect spot for a home, in my case a perfect spot is in/near a forest and maybe water. Smack together something simple to start out with and expand as times goes by. After gathering enough resources and equipment im setting out to explore the planet. Whenever i find myself too far away from my main home i make a little cabin or something similar as a outpost kind of home. Probably setting up some kind of farm for food and a workshop of sorts.

I like exploring and expanding my home base, also creating smaller outposts around the planet to retreat to when home is far away. Finding treasure in caves is good fun too.

Might try playing on a public server but to avoid griefing i'll probably be playing more with friends or family.

Not sure but definetly a long time. 50+ ish

I mix it up to keep things interesting, i do like machine guns and sometimes sniping. Melee is more last resort or for fun. I only tend to fight what i have to, but sometimes i can get a bit bloodthirsty

1-heck, at some point or another I'll play both genders and all the races but I'll most likely startout as floran or apex for there tech skills

1. I'll look at all the race intros then play a Floran, but the Glitch and the Hylotl look interesting too. I'm ambivelant about the Avians and the Human's sprite just looks a bit off to me. I will also refuse to play the Apex on principle because eveolution does not work that way!
2. I'll most like explore, see what the game has to offer exactly, and mess around with my friends.
3. Going by my experiences with Terraria I'll mostly do a combo of explore/build/fight. Finding loot and trying to actually finish one of my super projects/doomsday devices is pretty fun.

4. I'll most likely play with my close friends when I do play multiplayer. Games like this are fun to do socially and just being able to continue right here we left off without anyone else messing with it is preferable to me.

5. I'll probably put in a few hours every week. More so if we get the Beta before College starts.
6. Again, going with my experiences with Terraria I'll probably switch it up a bunch, partly depending on what my best equipment at the time is. However, a Floran with a flamethrower sounds kinda fun. I generally kill all enemies I see while exploring unless I'm trying to go somewhere quickly, the enemy in question is too annoying to actually kill, or I'm trying to get somewhere in good condition.

- I'm not exactly sure yet what the possibilities are, so i will see when i get there. This is completely open to me.

- I like RPG and RTS games, so i'm looking into progress my character "level" higher. Be it through acquiring technology/skills or whatever. I'm also fan of playing around with AI, watching enemies grow their own communities, and perhaps even fight eachother, or my creations. Like in Starcraft, where's the fun in destroying the opponent as soon as you can No, i wait them to get maxed army, and then start a war!

- With few friends or solo.

- Couple hundred, or much more? If it keeps getting updates, it'd keep me coming back years to come.

- Prefer ranged. I'm not always fighting every enemy, but if it is along the way, and killing rewards me somehow, then i propably would take it down.

I like exploring and building. My building varies on what i feel like.(even though i am a terrible builder) Sometimes its cave system other times its a tower and everything in between. Improving my character by gathering and learning technology. I would like to become a master scientist Orangutan thing. (Classic planet of the apes style) Maybe even an Orangutan Dictator on a public server taking over and forming an Apex nation and waging war on the other races/players

All of the above. Learn the game solo, playing with my friends on a private server and finally conquering the public server as an Orangutan God King
