1. What race are you going to play, and why? Do any of the races just not appeal to you at all?​

I'll play as a glitch and call him Robot. Then, I'll catch a human and call him Frank so that our party can be "Robot and Frank."​

I really like the plant people. Especially the females. No one expects females to be viscous killers. With the genderless race, I could be a lethal assassin.
2. What are your plans for your first character? Rush through to the highest danger levels? Be a peaceful farmer?​

The team worked hard to make Starbound unique. I'm not gonna put their efforts to waste. I'll thoroughly explore each planet, and probably come back to most of them later on to just see how powerful I've become.
3. What do you like to do in the game? Is mining something that never gets boring to you? Are you a treasure hunter? If you're a builder, what do your houses/bases generally look like?​

I would like to explore, to discover new wondrous things and encounter beautiful surprises.

I'll play with a small band of people, because adventurers always travel in bands. Alone, I'd not be able to share my experiences with anyone, and, on a public server, it'd be wasted.
5. How many hours do you think you're going to play?​

Honestly, if Tiy can come through with anything, I think I'll be set for longer than a year.
6. What combat style do you prefer? Melee, Ranged, etc. Will you fight every enemy you come across?​

I prefer melee sword/shield, and will fight any enemy I cross, usually tanking everything.​

Probably going to play Floran.

Work on setting up a home planet, with a sprawling main base and deep, deep mines.

I tend to build big. With my floran, I will likely build a big tribal village with a large town hall.

Five or six friends.

I don't want to think about that. So much time spent in minecraft and terraria...

Ranged. I fight what I need to fight. If something is a threat or a nuisance I'm going to destroy it, but if I can skip it I will.

 

1. Probably a Novakid, however the Hylotls and Glitches are both just as awesome.
2. I'll probably end up drifting around the galaxy, exploring everyplanet I find.
3. I enjoy treasure hunting quite a bit, then after I find something really cool I settle down for a bit and start working on an over-ambitious building project.
4. I might get a couple of my close friends to play with me.
5. Many.
6. I quite like having a variety of weapons for every situation. I'll probably just end up aggro-ing every monster I see by accident, so I'll have to defend my self.

1. First time I'll play as Floran I think, later maybe I'll try as Novakid. Why? Because I just like style of these races.
2. Well, I don't really know. I think I'll try to make this game as challenging as possible and explore dangerous places.
3. As I said before, I'm mostly into exploring and I like when game is really challenging.
4. I'll probably play with one of my friends, I don't really like to play with random people, they can easly destroy the atmosphere and enjoyment of the game, even by accident.
5. I have no idea.
6. I'm thinking about focusing on melee weapons, especially pole weapons and some kind of powerfull but slowly guns (Shotguns, Marksman Rifes, etc.). I don't think that I'll try to kill everyting that's moving, but as I said I like challenges so I'll probably try to kill "some big mean motherhubbard" if I meet one.

 

I'll most likely play Floran -> Avian -> Glitch -> Hylotl -> Human -> Apex (In that order)
Then I'll determine which race I prefer and go on from there. I don't like the Novakid race.

I'll most likely start with mining to be able to make stuff. Then I'll explore and experiment.

I like to mine ,but I'm mainly creative. I like experimenting ,exploring and making unique stuff.
My preferable structures are towers ,pyramids ,castles ,some oriental style structures and rounded buildings.
I may add more to this description later. Maybe I'll draw some pics or describe it in detail when able.

I'm going to play with friends most definitely. Mostly in smaller servers.

Most likely more than an hour a day. Maybe I'll play it for hours on end some days.

I prefer an inquisitive sneak style. Sometimes I like to snipe ,but my range preference varies.

Novakid. The idea of being a glowy gas man is just delightful. Honestly, I've never been one for... fleshy characters, and robots just don't appeal to me, so when the Novakid was revealed, it was such a treat for me.

I'll play it safe, but none of that "peaceful" stuff. Gonna be burning and pillaging all sorts of planets.

I guess I'm a treasure hunter. I'm always looking forward to getting the next good item, even if it's just a tiny upgrade from what I currently have. THROW DEFENSE TO THE WIND AND PUMP DAMAGE.

Some friends want to set up a small server and go journeying through the galaxy together, and that sounds just swell to me.

Whenever I have an opportunity to in a game, I always play a mage character. So with Starbound, I'm not really sure how I'm going to play. I'm sure I'll incorporate both ranged and melee into my combat style, and I guess I'll just look to using laser based weapons to fill my need for "magic."

Floran or Novakid, I love both tribal and wild west stuff. I'll probably end up playing every race in the end, maybe not humans, I never go for humans when there are other races available.

Gather resources, explore, stablish a main base in a nice planet, keep exploring, tame creatures, build build build, fight fight fight, keep exploring everything around my home planet, become a walking space-clopedia

I love building and crafting, I can already see my planet, full of nice looking cities, settlements, fortresses, camps, mines, temples and all sort of places. But exploring is fun too, and fighting, and taming creatures, there's so much to do!

I've one friend (for now) that's going to play with me, if we convince two more friends, we'll probably get a 4-pack. With some luck, each one of us will choose a different race, and we'll have access to each of those races' own items and weapons

To be quick and clear, loads.

Close quarters flame-throwing revolver-wielding gadget-using flying cyborg ninja.

I'm a peaceful farmer I love crafting and building and will go on adventure to find ressources

Well, i will do a mix of exploration/building! I'm a builder and my buildings are generally not oversized, i'm trying to respect the environments i'm building in and not be intrusive.

Of course ! I also love to trade and bring friend with me in my crazy adventures

Ranged it is But i wont attack something peaceful/neutral. Self defense ftw (and some preventive strike when they are necessary)!

I. Definitely a human, I can relate a bit more. I enjoy getting as close to myself as possible.
II. I enjoy immersion, I plan on making a house. Probably crafting everything possible. I'd like to make a nice safe little stronghold and explore. Eventually build a tech lab, and then a city!
III. Craft! Explore! Live! I'm a dork. I will get up in the morning, eat, plant crops. Exploring/foraging. Paint the barn lol
IV. Definitely play with people, probably a small server of 3 to 7 people. Just my friends. That doesn't mean I wont branch out but its much easier to play with people you trust to not mess with your stuff.
V. I have had a family and job for years and still have managed to put 300+ hours into Terraria before I got burned out on it. If this is everything I feel it will be I would say probably 700-900. I will most definitely play every day for at least the next year.

 

I know this game will have nothing for "Peaceful farmers" its going to be another grind em up to max armor fest and Im getting prepared for that. Unless theres something cool added fr miners its going to be pretty lame and crafting will fall into Make 100x scrap to then turn into 50x medium scrap fest. Im still keeping my hopes for this. Plus I guess ill be the rare ape of the galaxy seeing as no one else will.

Novakid, thus far, is my favorite, just based on their gaseous nature. Hyoltl and Glitch look mighty intriguing as well and may become alts.

Mining doesn't get boring as long as it feels like I can do something with the materials. Finding treasure will definitely be a plus and might be what I end up doing if I've built and explored what I want... which won't happen. I usually build structures that can take advantage of localized farming for materials I may need to make things later. Usually a house above a hellivator, with different biomes at different "floors" if it's possible to move around biomes in such a way.

I couldn't imagine playing this game purely single player, but I'll have to find a group to play with that I could trust too. Hopefully some of my friends will play this as well.

At least 100. Given the scope of the game though, more like 400.

A merchant, farner and sniper-for-hire

Due to previous Minecraft addiction, I can answer this easily. I'm miner, but I don't spend insane amountsof time down under. I like finding loot. My bases are usually comfy houses with large "base-y" type basements.

A server from my favourite Minecraft community, with both IRL friends, and friends in that community

A LOT

Ranged, preferably long-range, high-damage types (Sniper rifles and RPGs specifically) i'm not a "dive into the fray" type, i prefer to stop problems before they reach me.

2)I'll probably start things very slowly and carefully like I do in most games . Try and build up my home and not die until I'm strong enough to adventure to more dangerous places!
3) Exploring! Doesn't matter if I don't find anything useful, just finding beautiful new planets or caves is fine for me.
4)Mostly solo but sometimes with a few friends.
5)Over 9,000
6)Ranged, and only if I know I can win!!!

 

1. I would choose an Apex or a Hylotl (however you spell it). Love how advanced they are and my favorite animal is a monkey/ panda. Also I like how the Hylotls are based on Japanese stuff.
2. I would take most of the planets resources and find a different planet and make my evil empire there
3. Crafting and brewing. I love experimenting my new stuff that I make on a stupid desert planet or lab rats.
4. Mainly with my friends. I feel as if the experience of playing is better beside a friend than feeling forever alone on a planet with pandas.
5. About 15-20 hours 2 weeks (I still have a life )
6. With potions that i brew. I love playing with status effects

Definitely glitch. The retro robot aesthetic is just too rad to not use. The Florans are really harshing my vibe so I'll probably not use them.

Destroy all organic life in order to establish an all glitch homeworld.

Build, kill, build, kill... etc.. I'm basically going to get all Borg on this beast and build out practical droid like bases. Sleek minimalism.

Not at first. I'll save more sociable non genocidal characters for group play.

Probably only a couple a night, unless my kids get pumped on it and end up watching me play.

Definitely ranged combat and I'll try and kill anything organic and spread the glitch race across the cosmos like a cancerous plague.

Avian. For no reason other than that fall damage is the bane of my existence.

Rush forward to super dangerous areas in the hopes of getting some high level ores early.

Crafting. Weapons especially. Armor catches up as I get the extra materials. As for building, I go for pure functionality, like farms or crazy Rube Goldberg devices.

Probably not, but it isn't completely ruled out.

If the hour counter is a signed int, I'll overflow it.
