Whats Your Opinion On the Characters? Do you think there should be a Bio option?

I meant this: Why cant I create a smart Avian that talks like a genius, why is it that the game acts out like its an idiot when I don't want it to be?

OK, firstly, please note that if you're talking about how the playable characters are currently characterized, the Avians are aetheists. They are part of the Avians who broke away from the cultish followers of Kluex and that's why you were fleeing from society to begin with.

As for:

You can. Just don't use the inspect command on anything, hit the enter key and type in your own dialogue for the character to say. You are free to completely ignore the pre-written personality.

 

Who says the codex is something personally for you? Who says it's personalized for your character? if you buy a history book, it's not catered for you specially. Same thing, yes?

 

I want you to be able to make your own story. How about a check list where you can check of a list like:

Is he dumb: No

Is he smart: Yes

I want a to be able to create my style and history.

 

I've always disliked western style races in games, so I fully expected to go into this playing as a human. I was right, though I did make a Hylotl to steal their clothes (and I wish I could steal some of their hair styles).

I much prefer the way Japan often does alternate races, which is to just make them mostly human with minor differences, but I'm sure some people find that boring, so I'm perfectly content to just playing human.

I thought of this, however it's a ton of work for the devs and could be potentially controversial.

Just one example, say a 'dumb' character supports religion while an 'intelligent' character bashes it relentlessly.

Game would get a ton of flak, and the devs would be accused of making a propaganda game or accused of shoving their personal views on an issue into the game.

If the only difference between the two options is grammar, then it could work.

 

Dumb? Smart? Religious? Feelings on taco shells? Feelings on feelings? Hamburgers or Hotdogs....?

OP apparently doesn't have his own imagination and needs text to tell him what his character can be, sad, very sad.

 

I understand their could be too many possibilities, but why cant I have an Avian dressed like an Apex and think like one (Why cant he have an u7ltra modern style and be smart?)?

I'm afraid this has become to the point where I'm going to go bang my head on a wall instead.

 

Keep in mind that doing more variety of race-specific styles means writing LOTS of new text for item descriptions. It's something that the devs have already put a lot of effort into, so that different races say different things. Having (say) a non-psycho Florian would be a lot of work. (Heh, check out the Codex entries about how teaching a Florian to be a civilized novelist went.)

 

I feel bad for you. If you have a problem with this topic you can always leave, you don't have to stay here.

 

So find a vendor selling the style of clothes you want and type in your own dialogue instead of relying on the inspect command.

 

Please don't take this the wrong way, but you need to learn to have fun and roleplay a bit. Sure, the lore says avians are devout and they were introduced to space travel by another race, but that doesn't mean that the avian you're playing can't be a special exception to the others out there.

Or maybe all avians do understand space travel by now. I don't believe the lore states how long ago those events took place.
