Whats Your Opinion On the Characters? Do you think there should be a Bio option?

Okay so here is a meter of intelligence and my opinion on the dialogue.

Florian: Dumb, Pyschotic Weirdos

Avian: Religious and Pretty Dumb (No Offense To Religious People)

Humans/Hyloti: Normal Intelligence and Rather Generic (Also rather peaceful)

Apex: Interesting story but have very boring in dialogue. Also pretty smart

Glitch: Have Internet like Knowledge But Dress Like Idiots. Also Act Pretty Strange.



My opinion: I want the Developers to make a system where people can create their Style and Bio for their characters.\

Here my problem. I want to be a Avian that is smart. I cant be a smart Avian because of the game's lore. I want to see a "Create A Bio" option and a option to choose whether you are smart or dumb. With the create a bio option you could make a reason why you are a smart Florian/Avian etc.





THIS IS NOT A TROLL THREAD! I KNOW THIS IS A BETA! I UNDERSTAND THAT THE DEVS ARE WORKING VERY HARD!

I mean, you understand that the game is in beta, and there's a lonnnng way to go. Also I'm pretty sure this is a troll thread, because you can't expect every race to conform to normal, or simple. Floran ARE psychotic, Avian are very devout. It's who they are. Glitch dress in old style armor and clothing, like their ship, having the medieval theme. it's who they are. The Apex cannot be exciting or the miniknog takes them away to be re-assigned. C'mon guy.

 

I understand this but I honestly think some stuff should change, maybe not smarter races or mental state but I mean dress code, I think Glitch's armour style really doesn't make sense. And this is not a troll thread, it is a thread where people can discus there opinions about the charcters.

 

I fail to see how Glitch armor fails to make sense. They're stuck in the medieval period, all their armor makes perfect sense.
Their mannerisms and ways of dress all match their race specific lore. It's nothing complex, if it ever will be, but it all makes sense.

 

Floran was actually my favourite race, and what I was looking forward to playing most before I bought the game. When I played as them I was almost instantly turned off by they way they speak. They feel very unintelligent. I can accept that they resemble a primitive race, but I can't get over their horrible communication skills, and the drawn out Ssss that they do in speech. xP

Now I roll Human as my favourite character.

My big fear is that with Novakid having styles resembling a cowboy/western, with them being my favourite race visually and my most anticipated race I want to play as, I really hope they speak in a relatively normal manner, and that I'm not stuck with Y'all's and "what in tarnation" generic/stereotypical cowboy/western types of speech.

 

The Glitches armor style fits with their lore.

 

They all have their stages of development. Floran are tribal, Avian are Aztec, Glitch are medieval, Humans, Apex, and Hylotl are divergent futures.

 

The glitch can have a medieval style culture without having medieval style technology.
All the knight armor, castles, and talk of robotic horses is unnecessary.

I'm going to cite Halo. Just look at the Forerunner or Elite societies.

 

Why?

 

Except then it wouldn't be medieval society, it would just be today's society but several hundred years ago. The defining characteristics of medieval society were the castles and armor and such. They are literally stuck in the medieval period.

 

I find it charmingly ironic.

 

Why what?

 

Think about robots wearing medieval armor. Does that make sense to you? Not that I disagree with you, I understand in a way it makes sense, but I think maybe you should create your style, dialogue (I know you can change files to change their dialogue), and story.

 

Yes? Just like humans wearing armor makes sense? I fail to see how a race of sentient robots stuck in the medieval period would just forgo the staple of defense in said period.

 

When you think of robots, do you think of the future or the past?

 

Floran: Dunno, I don't like 'em

Humans: They're must-haves

Hylotl: Peaceful missionaries so they're nice

Apex: I enjoy their dialogue, and they're based off of the 1984 book which I love

Glitch: They're GLITCHED! They're smart robots that were glitched and now they are free-thinking and are stuck in the medieval ages.

 

Either or both. Robots are whatever I program them to be.
The Glitch are sentient, however, so they're whatever they choose to be, just like you and me.

 

They have space ships. They clearly aren't stuck in the medieval period from a technological standpoint.

From a cultural standpoint, yes, they are. We don't live in a feudal society dominated by nobles and kings.
We don't need chain armor and stone castles to reflect a medieval culture, those things only reflect a medieval level of technology.

We can still have kings, knights, chivalry, honor and keeps. But they don't need to be literal copy-paste versions of human lore, and they don't need to utilize primitive tools either.

Again, I cite media like Halo. Hell, even aspects of Star Wars. Jedi KNIGHTS, despite wielding swords of energy and powers like the force.

 

So why can't Glitchs be in a futuristic period?

 

Depends on what they are programmed to emulate. When I think of robots I think of a mechanical being created by a far more advanced race. Which does not equal robots being automatically more technologically inclined or advanced society(leading back to how they were programmed.)
