What your most excited about in the starbound future?

Well, for me, it's
End game
So eventually you’re going to get through all of the missions, you’ll have the best gear and you’ll be looking for a new challenge. This is where sector X comes in. Sector X is a collection of planets in which PVP is enabled by default and players battle over controlling various planets. To take part in the battle you first have to form an organisation (in game), which gives you access to a space station shared by other members of your organisation. The space station doubles as a ship that any captain in the organisation can control and is constructed from blocks and objects for full customization.

The PVP in this sector is entirely optional , players choose whether or not to attack each other or work together. Monsters, quests and events will be strong enough to be challenging even with the best tools in the game. And in game events, invasions and so on will keep the experience fresh.

 

I won't vote, since the closest option you have to what I'm looking forward to is "obtaining pixels", which I am NOT excited for.

I'm excited for the various methods you can customize the game to your own likings.
Farmer? Yup. Explorer? Sure. Builder and rent? You got it buddy. D&D server master? Holla holla you get a dolla.

 

More things you build in the world to do things like pumps, gears, energy collectors, crop harvesters.
Village making and villager interaction

That's pretty much it, contraption making and towns.

 

Where's the option for Everything?

 

yeeeeeah, really looking forward to endgame being nothing but a ball of PVP. Loves me some PVP. Just love it when an entire game's progression system is just a pile of time-extending mechanics building to the climax of 'hit eachother with stuff'.

Meaningful exploration.

Right now we can get everything we need from a single planet, usually. Then move onto the next tier. It's very disappointing.

 

Just the though of being able to host mods, the client upon connecting will download them sounds amazing.

Most looking forward to play style awareness, as in what you can do in the game effecting the way you can go about things. While options continue to open up, defining who my character is and will live like in the universe of starbound. As well Quests that would possibly go along with all that.

 

I went for "progression", but that term is fairly vague. Specifically, I look forward to constantly finding new gear and equipment, upgrading my ship itself, and finding new items to stuff it with (like that pinball machine I picked up from a USCM penal colony last night)

 

I'm actually feeling the exact opposite of excited now. The most recent announcements and changes are making me feel pretty bummed out because the game is making all sorts of changes that seem to be forcibly changing what I like best about it. I loved playing starbound from the moment I first installed it, but now all the PVP, quest gates and stuff they keep talking about...it just doesn't sound fun to me. It doesn't sound like the game I paid money to support.

 

Sounds like the same game with more things added to me.
The content is already gated. You have to thrash a boss before you can move onto the next tier at the moment. The quests just add context.

 

Biggest thing I'm looking forward to is the classless "job" system. The more gameplay dynamics they can add, the better. I really hop they go pretty deep with the "builder" progression. The idea of charging rent to NPCs awesome. Especially if it progresses from there to being able to build and run an entire village. That would give incentive to build by yourself on single player, not just on servers to share your work with others who'd rather be building themselves anyway I'm all for enhancing the sim experience to go along with the adventure sandbox.

 

Selling stuff and optimization so I can play in full screen without my computer over heating.

No vote for me either, too limited, my friend, as most of your choices are regarding multiplayer. I'm most excited about the depth that I'll be able to invest into this game in regards to building/exploring/farming/maybe even fishing/NPC-ing/crafting/RPing my little redhead any way I wish to. If I DO decide to venture into the great unknown with other people, then it'll be for shits & giggles, not for main-story/playtime.

Although the idea of just living life as an evil slum landlord packing as many victims into my slum-planet as possible and raking in a fortune has its appeal...
