What year does Starbound take place in?

To me there is only ONE demolition man and that is the cheesy, kooky, nutty Stallone Demolition Man!

well if you count the myriad of modded races from startrek than starbound must take place post federation which means that the destruction of earth would have to occur some time after the 31'st century

 

Post, as in after or before...because if I remeber correctly, earth wasn't destroyed in star trek

Only one force can help them now: that character you just created who likely won't help, and that's okay.

 

Post means After. your probably thinking of Prior which means before

... 3687 ... is that an arbitrary guess or is there a significance to that date i am not aware of ?



but your description of the state of the universe could also be referring to the 41'st millennium

I think there should be a tear, but it should be in a different scale than our years, like they do in Star Wars

e.g. 276 C.P.

That way there's continuity and a feeling of place, but we don't get the Space Odyssey 2001 effect or have to use astronomically high numbers
