What would YOU like implemented or changed in Starbound?

I'm seriously more and more annoyed by the forced progression in Tiers.

What the heck, the Universe doesn't give a blimp about anything and anyone, Nature shows no mercy, Evolution is a bitch. Why should I even spend time on a simulated Universe that poses no challenge?

Beside, the Universe in Starbound seems to be huge, so what's the odd you're encountering an other player who's gonna slaughtering you? And if even it happens... so what? You die and regenerate on your ship. And that's ok. And anyway all the tier system needs a big revise, 'cos so far isn't funny at all. It doesn't give me a sense of vastness.

In Starbound I would like to have an Universe where I/m free to go everywhere, even to a forbidden planet and die over there, so that I have a goal in getting some better tools, better armor/weapons, learn new skills, and so on.

I played Starbound for 59 hours so far and if in the beginning it was really engaging, that feeling faded away pretty quickly when I realized that the World in Starbound is just faked.

Right now there is no sense and no motivation in doing basically anything apart for self amusement. Ok, that's the nature of a game, I second that. But great titles engage with a solid story plot, with a sense of scope, with real challenges, and sometimes with a sense of wonder/mystery/endless possibilities. Starbound has all the numbers to do so, but those have to be written still.

So far I'm glad I'm helping in developing a game with a great potential (paying for an early beta). But I'm parking it for other titles on Steam, 'cos that potential needs to be addressed and realized.

    Hopefully so.

ps. Other thing, building is a great fun in Starbound. Even so, also that aspect needs some improvement, like a better management of materials, and a reason to chose wood/metal/rocks for building various part of the construction. More, it would be great to have more reasons to have an outpost than just 'cos it's cosy. Because otherwise, after a while, one just ends up living on the ship.

DQ / Zenority.. what Serenity means is there's already a Suggestions forum..
I personally don't see the harm in discussing ideas here anyways. If it needs to be moved a Mod will move it.

I would like to see many more biomes, including specific biomes where there is plant and animal life but that doesn't mean your character can breathe the atmosphere. I would also like to see biomes where only specific races and survive without the use special gear. It would also be nice to have some biomes be incredibly rare but give great rewards upon exploring them.

    So yeah.... Just.... More biomes.

Tool tips and more informative item descriptions. Like, how much health/energy do I have numerically? What does this stim pack do vs this stim pack? What do these different symbols mean?

Also, the beginning quests need some text tweaking. I had to go to the wiki to find out how to do several different things and where to find certain items.

The interface needs some optimizing, it's a bit clunky right now.

I had to go to the wiki to find out how the crap to go down a level on platforms/multi-storied houses/etc. It never would have occurred to me to jump to go down. Maybe just hitting S would work better.

Cosmetic weapons? Similar to how to the clothing is done. It would still behave like the weapon you're actually using, but the sprite would just be whatever weapon you equipped cosmetically.

All that being said, I'm still relatively new to this game so this is all just my thoughts as of now.

Oh, also. Maybe instead of scanning items and being able to buy them, you scan it and get the blueprints to make more?
