What will we be able to do with wiring?

    So far as I've been able to tell, the only thing that you can do with wiring is open doors. What things can we expect to see when the wiring system is expanded upon? Conveyer belts? pistons? heaters systems? defense turrets?

    I would LOVE turrets, im hoping you can toggle lights with them though, in my base I have impervium lights and I want to be able to turn them off

    I've always hoped for a speaker system and a stereo of some kind. Stereo plays .abc or .mml files letting your base/pub/whatever have custom music piped throughout.

    I though lights could be wired, maybe I just dreamed it *_*
    I made a thread about speakers in the suggestion forum but it got nothing :( Speaker system would be tight.

    I think all wiring is used for though is locking doors though.

    Right now the locking doors thing seems pretty gimmicky for wiring. If that's it's only purpose it just serves to make locking doors a real hassle (I guess to encourage players to actually work toward getting lockable doors that stupid NPCs won't open).

    A speaker system and turret system would be pretty cool if implemented. My only concern is how to balance turrets.

    I am going to guess you will be to turn on and off any Light or animated object for starters.
    and most likely trap doors will be coming. Making dungeons that much more dangerous.
    Since a lot of dungeons have pitfalls, it just seems like the obvious next step.

    After that they would probably include some automations at a later date.
    I think their main focus would be to get a working logic system - then worrying about adding things later to tie to it.

    Though turrets would be interesting, it would be equally dangerous. Considering the turrets would be guarding dungeons and various villages and what not. Who knows it may come up pretty early.

    Security doors, activate security cameras/ turrets, hopefully pumps..ventilation..ability to wire generators and power outdoor mining extractors..ohh the possibilities. Lights..sound system..hot tub A better question is what CAN'T we do with wiring? I'll start: Floss

    Well, you CAN wire turrets in the last stable. I did. The three turrets on the east side of my tree base are all wired to a station I took from a USMC base, so I can turn them all on or off at once.

    It doesn't do a lot to be honest, but it's something.

    Oh yeah... you can also wire drains, if you wanna play with liquids...

    Personally, I've always wanted there to be a greater array of machinery and for said machinery to require a fuel source that depletes slowly. Heating buildings, door locks, auto doors, processing ore, radars, defense mechanisms, lights, etc. A means to create energy then transplant it into a cell/battery then that battery can be used to power wires and machinery. Would give us a reason to care about ores we typically store and never use again.
