What will be your first major project?

Probably....wait for it ...a castle....made out of you guessed it... Stone....or wood....probably not dirt...well maybe dirt.

I tend to lump lots of minor projects together into one major house that grows and grows like a plague. I then build a wall around it and voila another castle.

seriously, everthing I build ends up looking like a castle so I'm not gonna fight it anymore.

So first major project... a Castle out of actual stone with keep and curtain wall. Hoarding optional (I think thats what the wooden roof things on the top of walls are called)

 

Since so much has changed in the Starbound universe since this thread died, I thought I'd revive and revise my OP. My first conquest has to be: Build a spaceport at asteroid level, on the earliest planet that I find with asteroids in orbit. Simple and lofty. Perfect. Anyone else want to update their initial plans, now that we know more?

 

inb4 it crashes into the planet.

I reckon my first major project will be making a cosy home base with... With laser and cannons and turrets.

 

I'd like to revise mine, if theres somekind of quick travel to asteroid level I'd make mining stations on them
(or just make an entire city at that level )

Well, given the recently released data on how the Beta is gonna work... i think, just getting to know the game... Trying to find some bugs, capture them in a jar and place them on a shelf to quietly die in solitude.... oh, i'm also gonna look for errors in the game, to report!

 

I think Tiy said that you'll be able to beam directly down to asteroids from your ship.

 

Replacing a planet with as much radioactive ore as possible.

I'll build up an underwater City in the central of the ocean, with an elevator to the surface with a big Tower to the Sky and a Tunnel to the deepest level of the Planet.
I am a big fan of the old Resident Evil Games and I think I build up my little "Umbrella Corporation" Building as you saw in the Resident Evil 1 Movie.

Surface: Big Building with a Tower
Middle Level Depth: Water Sorrounding City
Deeper Depths: Tunnel to connect every important point on the Planet with a small command center at the beginning.

I hope there are enogh possibilities to get this Project started! Maybe I have to watch R1 again for a realistic rebuild of the Companies Building, but this is what I am suppose to do first.
I don't think I will do that in the Beta, because this is a Heartproject, but I think there are infinite possibilities to have fun.


For the Beta I planned to build up a small Desert City like the old wild west style.

Iam some kind of freaky, because I just draw alot of sketches for what I build!
Do you guys draw sketches too or just do it spontaeous?

 

I will make a castle. Castles are dope.

I'm going to build a beanstalk space elevator. Underground supply stations. Then an asteroid space colony.

 

I'm gonna go for a Japanese-esque village w/ palace

 

I will build a huge castle tower that looks like a tower of Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry.

 

I'm sure in my solo world I'll be nomadic for a short period of time exploring different planets and seeing what each one has to offer, after I find a suitable planet I would build a base and expand from there.

In my multiplayer world I'll most likely be building a large base of operations along with my other teammates and making a mineshaft directly below it for easy spelunking.
