what was your first impression when you first heard of starbound?

ha, but seriously- for about 10 minutes I couldn't get the potential for something like this out of my head. (Despite the fact that the game is 2D)

Its as some say "the shit"
first impressions ^

 

I found Starbound after reading about Tiy leaving Terraria to develop it. I saw the graphics and did not know what to expect. The art didn't hit me strong right away. It was not until I started learning about the game and what they plan to do with it did I fall madly in love. The pixel art rapidly grew on me and before I knew it I was checking the forums every day and saving every picture to my computer.

 

I thought "escape the star system"

 

I was gonna post "inb4 Terraria rip-off" but then I realized that I was super ninja'd. Damnit.

 

I thought "meh", because when I first saw it, it was just one picture. So I couldn't really gather anything from it that made it look awesome.
Now it looks like my dream game .

*Looks into Starbound*

*tries to buy Starbound. Fails*

*Release planned for Summer*

*Planned for end of year*

Wait, Terraria with more to it? Hell yeah.

I honestly loved the artstyle and gameplay of terraria, but once you'd done all of the interesting things on that map, all that was left to create a new map. So more of the same style of gameplay and art + lots of extra things to do? I'm in. I honestly can't wait.

This honestly was my thought.

 

my first thought was : yay terraria with dual wielding in SPACE xD

 

"Cool, looks like I'm going to pour at least 700 hours into this. Oh god... I'm such a god damn loser!"
and then I was like:

 

I thought, "this game doesn't exist yet" so we started to make it.

 

Laughter .... pure maniacal laughter.

Other than that .... I think i cried a little because of pure joy.

 

I saw this at the at post where it said why Terraria stopped. There it said that Tiy started making this game called Starbound. My first thought after seeing pics and read a bit of text i thought.... "Terraria: Reloaded"
