what was your first impression when you first heard of starbound?

We should stay on the topic here, otherwise we could face some consequences. We could PM you, if you want.

So, back to topic: anyone here, who didn't think anything, because he was still crying about terraria?

 

First time I read the "About" section, I wet my pants

 

at first i was really upset about the discontinuation of terraria, and i still am really. but then i found this (on my own actually , not linked or suggested, just browsing) and immediately thought it looked amazing. this is my second most anticipated game ever, right next to skyrim. CANNOT WAIT!

That was pretty much my first impression when I saw the character animation sheet. But after that I fell in love with this game.

 

My first impression? Terraria 2.

My later impression? Holy crap this looks way better than Terraria.

 

I was impressed (and excited) that somebody took (pretty much) the same idea that I had already come up with and brought it to life. I guess great minds think alike! I actually have an old Google doc from August for this idea, but it was far too ambitious for me to reasonably complete on my own.

Anyway, I look forward to exploring the universe!

 

My first thought was pretty much "WANT. NOW." The more details I've learned, the more I want it

 

I heard of it while I was still in my end of Terraria rage and disregarded it as garbage..... Clearly I got curious.
P.S. One Piece is awesome, but I haven't watched it in ages, should start up again.....

 

I thought of starbound as a spaceship shooting game.

 

I didn't actually realise the link between Starbound and Terraria until a good day or two after I found my way here.

My initial impression was "I don't understand what this is meant to be".

My impression after the Starbound=/=Terraria realisation "This is going to be bitchin'"

My impression now:

 

i originally thaught that it was just a re -skinned terraria
but now it is forming a little more it seems like an awesome game

 

I think of starbound as a combination of a game of snake & chicken...in RPG style...without the snake or the chicken...oh yeah, and in space!

 

My first reaction was "Wow, look at those cool graphics"

 

Probably something like, "I'll never play Terraria again!" or "MUST... PLAY..."

You know...

 

I thought it would be a lot like Terraria and wouldn't be anything special. Now that I have learned more about it I think it is going to be amazing!

First thing I thought was "Tetris Rip-off"

 

I first heard of it while on the site, and after looking at screenshots and the FAQ, I thought something along the lines of "Woohoo! A game that will be a 2D version of what I felt was missing from Spore!" Probably something like that, but worded differently because it was in my head and I didn't need to specify a couple of those things to myself...

 

I thought, yes another game revolving around space exploration!
