What Types Of Planets Are You Hoping For ?

I hope for completely different planet every time one is spawned.

 

I want a giant supercomputer planet, that spends all it's time trying to figure out why it exists, and when you get there all it wants to do is discuss philosophy. Why? Why, indeed.

Yes, and that's why I think it would be an exceedingly awesome planet to have!

Yes and yes. It is a famous short story about a computer that takes over the planet and kills humanity, leaving only 5 people alive so it can toy with them for all of eternity.

 

I will have to read that. It sounds fascinating. Who is the author, do you know?

 

I do not remember but it is easy enough to google
they made a video game based on it too I believe
but they didn't stick within the story so i never played it

 

Hoping for an aqua planet, building through water could be a fun challenge~

 

I am a big fan of the book: I, Robot. For those who have not read it is not like the movie. The movie is loosely based off of just a couple of the short stories in the book. (It is a pretty sweet movie though...) I actually love just about everything Isaac Asimov wrote. It's a great thing when a real scientist is also a good writer. You get the best science fiction in my opinion. I hope Starbound uses some Asimov as inspiration.

Also the short story is by Harlan Ellison and was published in 1967 for those who care to know.

 

Someone already mentioned a reverse gravity/upside down/hollow planet. We should definitely have these, and they should be called Dyson Spheres.

Can we have a world filled with those fun balls from ball pits? Nothing but fun balls from ball pits?

 

I'd like to see a completely hostile planet. There'd be nothing to gain from goin there and it's very dangerous. Kind of like shadow levels in spiral knights

 

Ball pits are so fun with all those balls and stuff. There's just no comparison to balls in the pits.

 

I know this sounds a little odd, but this is science fiction.
A planet where light is being bent around a black hole.
The light curved in the PERFECT way so that it is constantly in orbit around the black hole, slowed to a almost solid, but still traversable, state.
It's a very bright planet, where most inhabitants wear/have evolved eye protection to prevent permanent damage.
Of course, being located on what is basically the Event Horizon of a black hole, most of the people there are researchers.
