What type of weapons could you see yourself using all the time?

Anyways I would probably use snipers, and depending how fun melee combat is I might use a sword or something. Actually I would probably use snipers then a utility.

Also, by ranged weapon in my earlier post I meant something mid/long-range.

 

It really depends on what kind of weapons there are. I always go by statistics.
But there was always one thing in Terraria I always hoped would be included, a rocket launcher!
Now that I've heard Starbound will have one, I can't wait to blow up both terrain and enemies with one well-placed rocket.
I do see myself using a lot of special effects such as stuns, slows, etc. over pure damage.
I guess a rocket that produces an electric stunning aura would be the best!

Depends. If I find a really cool looking rocket launcher and use it, than find an ugly one that does the same thing (stunning aura I was talknig about, rate of fire, blast radius) but with 5 more damage, I'd say yes, I'd use that instead. I don't go for looks often, but if I can get better looks without losing anything else, of course I'll go for looks! That's why I loved the vanity items in Terraria.

I look at this in smaller priority too, but in Terraria there were no bad-looking weapons, so maybe Starbound won't have them too. Who knows.

 

Sword and a Bow for the awesomeness.

Shotgun + Sniper for... god knows what.

 

I would love like a weapon that you charge up to do tons of damage. Like the Husk Fireball Launcher from Killing Floor.

I would enjoy a toaster that shot out a variety of ammunition, toast, bagels, english muffins, poptarts.

 

Well then you have no Idea how awesome those weapons are.
The first one is a rocket machinegun that plays extravagant classical music while it destroys the main boss in 6 seconds.

It depends really, maybe a melee weapon like a sword, but I like the idea of a gun!

It would depend on what they have for weapons, I would like to get an assault rifle with shotgun as backup for medium/close range combo, assuming they had ether.

 

I would love to have a constant stream-firing laser gun, similar to a Spider Droid from Star wars

 

A gun that turns opponents into glass, and a pain-causing ray in the other, all boosted by speed-enhancing drugs.
