Nah, mod authors are still around, we're just lurking and patiently waiting for the update like everyone else. In fact, the more I hear about the update, the more excited I am to dive back in and start modding again! They are adding a whole bunch of new scripting toys for us to play with!

As for the rest of the playerbase, I'm not too concerned. We may not be anywhere near 80k players, but every multiplayer server I've joined has a pretty good crowd.

 

Patience? Dude, it's been almost six months since the last stable update. We're like 2 months from a massive Christmas Sale on Steam, I think we've all been patient.

 

I was so close to saying this in an incredibly sarcastic way, but I stopped myself - Being less patient won't get them there faster.

Those fookers take nine months just to get to the worst 18 YEARS. And then the kid takes my money and goes to college. He graduates Magna Cum Laude. His degree: Philosophy.

Don't even talk to me about patience.

 

I've helped raise my mentally handicapped sister since I was seven years old, I'll be turning 30 in just over a month. She'll always be a child no matter what, I'll always help her and cherish the time I have, she'll be dependent on my brother and I until the day we die. Even with all that, I wouldn't trade a single day I spent raising her and taking care of her for anything else in the world.

I know all there is to know about patience, and if I had a son or daughter, I would never look down on them for pursuing a degree in Philosophy or anything because that would be their dream and I would support it, financial drain or not, because a son, daughter, sister or brother is always worth it.

We can continue this in PMs since it's horribly off-topic, but please, don't try to make yourself look more patient by slamming your kid for raising him and then his choice in college major.

 

I play Minecraft on Ps3 (cause my laptop suuuuuucks), Conga Simulator 2: Fancy hats edition, and write.

 

Minecraft on console ? ... can you mod it ? cuz if no , it's a shame (and without mods , minecraft its a sh*t imo).


Btw for everyone , the main question was what can i do IN STARBOUND while waiting 1.0 ^^ , collect town material for build them again later ? hunt metal tree ?


Or nothing and like someone have said above , i made a list and if all is reset i give them back when 1.0 come out ?

 

Do what you'd do in Minecraft: Strip mine biomes/planets for resources, namely blocks that you need and go to a tier 1 planet and reshape it in your image through the power of building and destroying all native wildlife.

What to do 'till 1.0 comes out? Anything you want, really. Learn to fly a plane, go (back) to college, become a professional racer, write a book, find someone you love and settle down with them. Raise a child, or two.. or none, and just save a lot of money over the years. Learn a new language, see the world, learn more about and meditate on the nature of your own mind. Seriously, you have, like, 2-3 decades left, you can do plenty. Just don't spend all those years waiting silently and sedately for something else to come along and make life worth living, that's something you have to pursue.

There really isn't anything to do on Starbound until 1.0 unless you play nightly, which is broken anyway. I suggest just playing Terraria until then.

 

I bought all the Crysis games and I'm currently playing through them. So worth the money.

 

I seem to manage to find things to do and I don't play the nightly.

 

No you can't mod it without violating warranties and several terms agreed to when using as console. I may do that when I pick up a junk/second hand Ps3/4. It's no shame at all. It's a light weight game and vanilla is still very fun.

However, back on topic!...I don't do much in game now that I hit my card drop limit and can't find much more enjoyment currently. I've given mods a go but nothing has totally clicked with me yet.

 

For reference, I work on this baby here. Sometimes I merely dick around, experimenting with block types and coming up with new assemblies that I think look nice. (I'm actually starting on converting the rest of the prison to the west of that map into a big complex I've vaguely sketched ou. Pretty sure that final building has a flat zone big enough to land my ship, were that possible.)

There's all sorts of little projects in my head... I'm thinking of both a tunnel to the planet core where I'd store the Evil Things (Agaran pods, That's No Moon plans, Drysap dispensers and the like) and a space elevator that extends to the asteroid field above my world. Maybe a Floran flying ship. Maybe I'll re-create a Mega Man level somewhere. (I REALLY wanna do Crash Man's tower, but I'm struggling on how to make the rail-guided platforms... not making usable moving ones, just... something that LOOKS like it. Not many good blocks for that.)

And when I'm not building, sometimes I go biome-hunting, as I don't have all the blueprints for all the biome-based furniture. So I'll scour a system or three, looking up every desert world or magma world in the hopes of finding a Sandstone or Rust biome and snag their unique items. Finally got my hands on a Giant Worm Statue today, I was happy.
