What to do while waiting for version 1.0 ?

Hello , first its not a crying topic for ask when the 1.0 come out , the 1.0 will come out when it's done , not before , so for that we can only wait.

Second , i'm sorry in advance for my english , but i think people can read and understand me anyways.

So , about the question it's simple , what to do while waiting for version 1.0 ?
i'll ask for question with an exemple and the => "hidden true question" for each above.

so

1 - can we continue collect item ?
(for example as a glitch , i make a collection with each different metal tree i find , can i keep them for real when the 1.0 will be here ?)
=> (inventory/chest will be intact after 1.0 or reset to 0 ?)

2 - can we Terraform ?
(for ex : as a glitch i've project to destroy a town glitch and build it back next to another glitch castle/town on another planet , can i do that now or planet will be reest at 1.0 ? , if reset , i think keep material in chest , but ONLY if the answer to Q1 allow it).
=> (planet will be reset for 1.0 ?)

Infact at the moment i dont have much questions , but if i ask that its because i dont want hunt metal tree (i call that like that x) for lose them at 1.0 or/and make a glitch planet for the same reasons.

Most likely, no, to both questions. Even if they don't forcibly delete your world and character, so much will have changed that you'll be missing out on a lot of you don't do it yourself.

The answer is simple, stop playing SB until 1.0 comes out.

Sorry but It's not an answer for me , cuz i've already have 2x metal seed (+ the rust tree) and many many material , so i must know if i must put them on my char before 1.0 , or in a chest on my ship , or in a chest on a planet , or in the worst case , if i must place all (if never char+chest+ship are reset).

But next to that , if for example i'm sure at 100% planet are intact after update , i can begin build another glitch town around a planet for example.

Imo i think planet have a chance to be reset , cuz i've read longtime ago they will remove all sector for make something like 3 universe (something like 1 for solo , 1 for pvp and 1 for multi player , but i'm maybe wrong).

The consolation in all of this is that you will be able to instantly spawn any lost items using the /spawnitem admin command. Lost planets will be a bit of a bummer, but such is life.

 

More likely Universe will need to be wiped. So chests on planets might not be good idea. Still unconfirmed whether that is case or not, but is most likely. Best having on character.

When version comes out, then best to make new character to get experience of new system. Use old Character to deposit items onto a planet; write down coordinates. Then having newly created character go there, when possible. It is one way to go about it.

Not quite. You can play multiplayer on any of the 3 universes. So it will go like:

Normal: the one you start in I believe
pvp: This should be obvious player vs. player area.
creative: where builders and/or people can build and do what they want how they want. This is with unlimited resources.

Well that is how I interpreted it. I hope translate does ok on this for you...><

 

Play other games. Simple.

 

Or play Starbound with mods, build epic stuff

Buy last gen games you never played when they came out, mostly because new they are below 20 bucks now mostly. I bought Demon souls, Dead space 2, and Prototype 2. Have been enjoying them all.

Too bad that if it goes into next year, most players will have likely given up on the game. Not just because we'd be talking almost a year between updates, but mod-authors are already losing interest and that's one of Starbound's selling points, then you've got the Christmas Sales where you know people are going to be looking at all those games that normally they wouldn't touch. We're already down to just a couple thousand players or so at most on Steam, and that number will drop even further unless CF puts Starbound up for sale at a massive discount when the sale roles around. That's how SB had like, almost 80k players when it happened, they saw the huge discount, bought, tried it out for a while, but if it goes on sale and almost nothing has changed since then, I don't see the game lasting into next April and still sporting a healthy playerbase. It's in a bad spot and Tiy's stance is only gonna make it worse and what sucks the most is that it's like he either can't see it, doesn't care, or is just too stubborn to throw out a hefty stable update and continue working on 1.0
