What to do when spawned on world without wood?

So this happened to me twice already, where I would make a character and spawn in a woodless world. Is there something I'm not seeing or something I don't know about? Or is this just a bug?

 

There should be blueprints near where you touch down. However, I cannot seem to use them once i learn them.

 

I don't see blueprints anywhere. Plus, are there bleuprints to create unrefined wood? Cuz I simply don't have trees = no acces to wood

 

I received two blueprints. It was in a hardly noticable mushroom chest almost exactly where i touched down. One was for a crafting table, and I do not recall the other.

 

My nephew spawned on a world that seemingly had no wood, but it was just the biome he was in. Try exploring the surface a bit til you get to another biome that has it.

 

I had such a chest on the first char I made (Which also spawned in a world without trees) But it had no crafting table blueprint.

 

Ah, yes, after exploring a bit more I found wood. Thanks Although I immediatly died upon seeing the tree xD

 

Correction. It seems that you need to explore to find wood on said planet.

 

I would imagine All worlds have some form of tree, even if some are far less common than others.
Chests are all random and blueprints seem to be rare, also wouldnt help you acquire wood.
you COULD(badly) however gather wood from underground, once and if you ran across a "spawned location" that happened to have wooden elements(like docks over water or pillars holding stairs etc--real examples).
You could also come across other NPC generated houses on the surface. However I think all generated structures both above ground and below would supply planks not logs(so you cant make campfires)

 

You can also use wood for fuel, I know that finding wood can be tough sometimes, but for me wood was easy, coal hard. So I shoved a stack of wood into the the engine and bamph, new world!

 

Yeah I would say your best bet in some situations is to just grab coal and try to random a new planet or travel to a near by planet. Some Biome's are just hard to find wood like the mushroom biome seems to spawn less wood baring trees.

 

Maybe just either delete the character or just use the matter things to get some coal and f*** of to somewhere else
