I wasn't interested in games as a kid, happy?
I would play Terraria if I was on a PC, and Steam doesn't like me and won't download, and my credit card hates Minecraft, so I just sit around on the Starbound forums.

 

The Dead Linger Alpha is supposed to come out this Halloween.
Telltale's The Walking Dead released a new episode.
The Nightmare Before Christmas.
This is all assuming you celebrate Halloween, otherwise you should still watch The Nightmare Before Christmas.

What about those who are too young to have played them?

Psst, those people are all too busy screaming into a headset while playing CoD.

Also, I have played the old systems. I even still have a working NES, though all of my games except Super Mario Bros. 3 seem to have disappeared.

 

nintendo about 2 years ago i think it was released a anniversary version of there NES that ran all the old games and everything. Twas awesome but only so many were released i think.... Which saddened me.

 

I've been playing the Uncharted series for the past two weeks. It's been swell.

 

Yes well back on topic. Ive been thinking of getting the newish MMO WarZ... It looks promising and i do need a new cheap game to play and 30bucks for a game is cheap in my books.

 

You guys should all try dwarf fortress... I want to hear all the complaints!
Recently to bide the time I have been playing classics and stuff,
such as Total Annihilation, Dwarf Fortress, most classic games you can think of,
suggest a good one and I might try it.

 

Allow me to recommend Mechwarrior Online. It's currently in closed beta but all my friends have gotten beta keys a few days after applying for one so I doubt that it would be very hard to get in. Unfortunately it has taken the path of Free to play but it's still well worth playing in my opinion. For those who don't know anything about the Mechwarrior games, it's first person but still more of a simulator than a fast paced shooter. Currently the only game mode is 8v8 TDM (or cap enemy base). There's one small problem though, there's no tutorial at this state so it can be a bit bothersome for the first games. Finally if you want to play with someone you could always send me a message.

 

Call of Duty? Well that probably was your problem! haha kidding! Whatever works for you, but I think its all about healthy balance, I might like FPS games more than other genres out there, but I do play even turn bases strategy like Endless Space, which are on pretty far spectrum from twitch bases shooters. Just a nice diverse list of good games is all you need to be preoccupied till you wait for Starbound and other awesome games.

 

Whats with all the hate for CoD and adoration for retro consoles?

I got back into Rollercoaster Tycoon and Locomotion. A great diversion I might add, but it still doesn't fill the imaginary void.

Lookin for my sister's Pharaoh +Cleopatra Game, and maybe even zeus or Stronghold

 

I dont think that is connected. I never had a retro console and i still hate COD.

I grew up with the ; Snes, PS, Dreamcast, PS2 and such.
Good times... The only game I ever hated though was Kirby u-u

They arent connected as such, but there's a hating CoD bandwagon, and a 'The retro consoles are better than this gen will ever be' bandwagon, and I dont really get it

 

People hate CoD because of the primary player base. And they love retro consoles because of nostalgia, plus those games were freaking awesome. A lot of them are still really fun to play.

 

I really like playing on the older consoles. I played my NES until just last year when it caught on fire (21 years is a fairly good run though. it lasted MUCH longer than my 360 did.) I like how all of the older gen games are original with their story, gameplay, and whatnot. However, I really like how the newer games have open worlds, amazing graphics, mature stories and such. As for CoD, I like playing it, but I don't really care for all of the younger kids on there telling me to, and I quote, "Get back in the fight, soldier! That's an order!" and, my personal favorite, "Cover me! The enemy is 12 clicks east of the battle base! I need cover, Arr-le, Arrit, arrz... Arrzuz! Take out the stupid guy screaming on the mic!" After that, I shot him in the back. And he couldn't pronounce my name, but I have no problem with that because very few people know how to speak French, and I'm one of them.
I honestly don't hate CoD, but I dislike how the developers got sidetracked. Modern warfare was the fourth installment of the Call of Duty series. There was supposed to be a fifth one, but I'm not quite sure what happened.
