What sound does the "monster" make?

So, you know the tentacle monster that destroyed the earth from the human lor? What do you think it would sound like? Or what monster sound best suits it?
(This is for "Captain's Log.")

 

Probably either a deep rumbling noise or a sickening puckering sound as it rips things to pieces.

That or something akin to a Godzilla/kaiju roar.

 

There is an intro video for the human race that depicts earth being torn apart. I think I heard some monstrous roar there. It was WIP though so make of that and my fuzzy memories what you will.

 

Y'know, I've seen enough japanese animated movies to know what this thread will end up about.

 

I'd expect it to sound like a jello cup when you put the spoon in, then tilt it to make that squelching sound.

Well, probably a fluid blobish sound, all we know is that is at least one eye and tentacles...tentacle galore

That would scare the crap out of many a viewer....

 

I wanted to write a post with a bit more .. constructive content. So I went and searched "tentacle" over at YouTube. But there's no way in Dantes' nine circles of hell I'd link those results in here.

 

there's this giant octopus monster from monster hunter called Yama Tsukami. i tried to find some videos without commentary to listen to its roars, but my lazy 1-min search didnt turn up anything good. but theres a start. other than that id imagine some sort of whale like sound due to its size.

 

Okay, no videos, see above. But. I remembered an interview with a sound designer of Mass Effect. He explained in some detail how they went to create the signature sounds for the 'Reapers' - and in fact, it were not just a whale, elephant or any single animal, but rather several animal sounds mixed and mingled together to produce something entirely new with those. So... maybe that would be a nice way to get a sound that right out says "Boohah! I is evul tentacle monster!"? Though I am no expert here, so, the real "how to" part would have to be done by someone else more profound in that area. =)

 

Honestly, I am probably be the only one to direct you to the Sanctuary Guardian roar.

Seems imposing, if a tad exagerated, perhaps not what ya seek, but worth a shot.

In case you are not familiar with what I am talking about, Dark Souls, just search it on Youtube, for a boss battle and use Audacity or something, no?

 

I always imagined it might sound similar to Lavos.

 

That sounds perfect, now that I pictured it.
