What sort of player will you be?

A crew leader. A friend of mine and I already have an exploration crew with some other friends planned out.
Even if im not playing multiplayer, I could treat it like solo missions if im alone.
Just scouting around, logging stuff and finding cool gear.

 

When I played Terraria, I didn't feel there were enough materials to make an extremely good base. I hope in Starbound there will be plenty of different materials to build with, such as different coloured wood from different types of proceduraly generated trees and different colors of stone depending on the planet. If this is the case, then I may end up building as much as adventuring, unlike in Terraria where I just made a small tower for each world with just enough rooms to house the NPCs.

 

I've seen some pics of the different creatures; I've also seen pictures of the weapons. I can say without a doubt, I will be a collector, of monsters and weapons. I'll probably dabble into the tech quite a bit as well

I have already watched that video about 10 times. To me it seems that the only colored blocks that change are the dirt blocks and the trees. The stone seems to remain the same color across all of the worlds so there might not be much variety when building with stone. I am also unsure if, despite the trees having different appearances, the wood that you can harvest from the trees will be different colors based on what tree you chopped it down from. I have heard that there may be the ability to paint blocks which might be a good addition that would partially solve the problem.

 

Painting the blocks solves it for a brief while, until you yearn for varied styles again.
Can you not take blocks from else where, say, avian temples?

 

I'll be a spy robot. I'll infiltrate the defenses of other races with my cunning and charm, learn what I can, and report back to the boss.

I think I'll try to be an all-around character.

Guns for one situation, melee for another. No exact weaknesses or strengths.

Anyway, I'll be just a traveler that plays with friends. It's enough.

Seeing as I'm super skeptical I'd be that guy who does absolutely anything just to see what would happen. Including but not limited to attempting to summoning eldritch beings, exposing myself to hazardous materials and breaking the laws of physics.

 

I'm a gatherer, I like finding and hoarding all kinds of items and gear. Having good stuff makes the game easier after all!

 

Probably an explorer with a shotgun and a knapsack. Always traveling and moving until I find the best world to settle down on.

I hope there are yurts.

 

After some learning and exploration, I am going to use some beautiful and scary lvl 100 planet as my homeworld. Hope it would be possible to build vast safe base there. After this, I am going to hoard like a dragon, collecting everything from everywhere. If there are any renewable resources of some worth, most if not all of them will be producted at homeworld base, if possible. Also, it will have really immense storage of various ores, stones and whatever else. Then I will slowly try to terraform my lvl 100 planet, making small to medium biomes of various kinds. Also I will try to settle it with lots of various creatures from all the galaxy. This world will become most diverse in terms of content place ever, but it also will be formed in orderly fashion, with networks of safe tunnels and/or flattened peaks/holes, with no lava-like lakes on surface, et cetera. Theme is "tamed chaos".

I will be an explorer, probably a meticulous collector. Whatever comes in between will cary from character to character and play to play.

 

Probably an adventuring diplomat. I'll be traveling through the far reaches of the universe finding uncharted planets and discovering the secrets they hide, along with befriending and helping the local inhabitants, so long as they're friendly of course.

 

Me...I think: glitch finder/casual player yet a super structure builder. But I will try and be diplomat-ish. (or just be an evil king of the galaxy! BWHAHAHA!!)
