not sure if something changed, but I play alone mostly because finding other servers is obnoxiously difficult without a server browser.

Sound like what I had in mind might be handy. I was just thinking of having another separate window that will open up with a hot key or some button, maybe the + with left click; while keeping the right click for basic stuff.

window would open up for party management and have a few options there in. You could essentially Add/Remove party member if the leader, name it like a band, and so forth. Maybe some of those ideas could be put into this as well. It is a thought at least.

I agree party should be 4+ at least minimum 8.

Someone mentioned something about the single player experience which also the window could be used for. NPC mercenaries/followers per say. So in this case it would maybe have a tab across the top of window to have party type.

Well that is my thoughts on this. Multiplayer providing for the single player experience in this case. Usually it is the other way around.:)

Two most of the time, and not many problems with the layout of the crew menu. However, the occasional glitches that occur from the menu (not being able to interact with each others portraits, not having portraits at all) could use fixing, but they are but small irritants.

    i have a idea...
with a party of about 3 people (including you) the other two people have flipped energy and health bars, but when the face thingymajighys can't fit under there, they are rotated to normal size BUT shrunken down to two rows, to increase the capacity of players in a party!
edit: yeahhhh, i don't know the word for it. yeah.
another edit: easier servers. more onlineness. more epic. YEAH!

Well, I mostly play alone, although I'd love to get a party going. The last time I played with multiple people was before the huge overhaul. Back then everything was much too easy for multiple people (we could kill the Jelly simply by going on top of a mountain and keeping him stunned). I'm not sure how it is now, but we haven't started a server since we basically did every possible thing in that version. Really, I'm not too sure how party-friendly Starbound is.

Generally play alone, but have friends that are busy with other games that do try and join me from time to time. I marked (forever) alone, but it can be as high as 3-4.

One suggestion I'd like to make is that have party members based on account rather than character. It can display the character name but I find me and those I play with frequently switch characters and it would be nice if the party was still together even if we all switch characters. rather than having to reform the party each time.

I only play alone as of yet. I'm never the type of person to "gather IRL friends" to play an online game. I'm also quite an introverted character and don't like to be pressured by game designers to leave my hampster ball and invest cold approach energy in companionship to create a fun experience.

I am most likely to enjoy multiplayer experiences that have some sort of matchmaking and/or coincidental-proximity/shared-instance system with clear and compelling shared goals that render active roleplay and/or direct personal interaction unnecessary but not discouraged. I have been impressed by Tri0n W0rlds multiple times in that sense.

The party is very good, but a thing i will like if you put in the party the option of trade with other persons of the party, because is something annoying to put all the things in the floor one by one, and then notice that you take your things back and do that process again and again, i mean, is more comfortable that you only click on the member of the party and then you only put the things you want to give him directly in his inventory, and if he wants to give you something, then he do that

Long answer: party of two. I'd play in a party of three, because two of my friends have the game, but one can't play very often and he doesn't really like my other friend. If I had more friends, I'd get them all in a party and have an actual party. With a band and fireworks.

If I play in a party (Haven't played with that many people since one of the main servers went down), I'd say around 7-8, especially in music band play parties. This was back in the good ol' days of Starbound, though. I hope to see it again someday soon.

    please dont limit parties
just make them open ended because its annoying when games have 4 player limit and 5 of you bought it together

if u didn't have to port forward or use Hamachi, I would be playing in parties of 9, but since we cant play witout hamchi or portforwarding that isn't an option. (pls if u could make the servers like space engineers, u could just make a server witout any issues)

I would like to see some coop-able quests. Ones that are NEARLY impossible to do solo. This way players can find fun challenges for their party and "elite" players can solo it at as an uber challenge.

i usually play 3-4, it depends on the day though. Sometimes its just me and another though..
To be honest, i think it would be possible to make a more dynamic hud for party.

Like up to 3 people, you have the faces and names and stuff, but get more than that, the pics go away, and just displays the name and bars
I also dont think its really necessary to have other party members energy bar displayed. Hp is good enough, especially since energy is becoming more and more easy to come by, and it really doesnt matter if their energy goes out anyway. Theres not much you can do about it xD
